We loved our stay at the Piries Hotel and would definitely stay here again in future. Close to bus stop. Very clean and spacious room. The staff are so friendly and told us all about Edinburgh upon our arrival. Could not recommend this hotel enough.

Friendly Staff and Good Location”
Had a great stay. Great location also. Multiple travel options nearby to get to Princes St. and Old Town, but also within a mile walking distance if you don’t mind traveling on foot. Continental breakfast is simple, but convenient and a good price.

It was quiet untill about 8am as there was work men doing work right next to our room, but won't stop me from staying there again, The beds were very comfy

Charming little hotel right next to Haymarket station”
A very pleasant surprise, the hotel is super cute and amazingly well located for arriving into Edinburgh. Rooms have a safe, hairdryer, kettle, European adaptor, choice of pillows and openable sash windows (unusual for a city hotel - I love being able to open the windows). It has a 24 hour reception and bar (also unusual) and a very helpful receptionist who kindly offered use of a wake up call and printer. I honestly can’t justify the bad reviews, unless they paid considerably more for it. Okay there are a lot of steps so it is not very mobility friendly, the windows need a clean and the rooms have electric showers, but then so does most of the country. I would definitely choose it over the typical budget chain hotel, it offers way more character, flexibility and value for money.

Easy walk from Haymarket Railway Station”
I look forward to my return. Here iplahospitality plain hospitality and an Edinburgh Welcome. Piries is comfortable and has a beautifully airy feel. The ground floor rooms I saw are well heated with high ceilings. The lack of dining allows more lower storey and ground floor access guest room. Co-op grocery shopping nearby helps with hotel's Breakfast-only policy (Jan 2019). Many food outlets nearby plus Tram and buses at or near Haymarket major road junction which is just past the Rail station. Major Train feature on your way toward Princess Street. Then on your RHS are famous park gardens in the dip as you look towards Castle on the right. Then turn right (here the bus is v. handy if easily exhausted by walking) up the Mound (short but very steep hill) for short-cut access to half-way along the Royal Mile. Here you reach the point where St Giles' Cathedral (turn left) and the National Library of Scotland (cross straight over) are both close by.

Lovely well kept older style building with beautiful high ceilings. Comfortable beds plenty of room in bedroom, en-suite a little small but good shower plenty of hot water. We didn’t take advantage of paying extra for breakfast as no fruit in selection. It might have been wise as eating out was quite expensive. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby as was transport, Buses trams and Haymarket train station. Staff always helpful and friendly. Loved it.

5 minutes walk from Haymarket station. 15 minutes walk from Princes Street. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel itself was spotless, although some areas could do with modernisation. All in all however, a great stay.

I thought the price of one night stay was a lot but the staff were very very nice and the hotel was incredibly quiet. Location was also very good with train and bus stops right by as well as taxis knowing where to find the hotel.

Excellent hotel all round - location, facilities, staff, rooms, cleanliness. A friendly reply to our good morning at breakfast would have been welcome though, and an explanation of where things were and what to do . The only person on duty for breakfast at our 2 days there after Christmas said not a word, and it seemed some of the foreign guests were a bit bemused.
