Cozy place in the middle of the jungle, amazing scenery!”
Its like waking up in the middle of the jungle, so green and fresh. Very nice place to stay for a few nights. Food was a bit boring and the facilities were not as great as some of the other places on our stay but definitely great value for money, great personell and the location feels like a small green oasis where the view leaves you breathless. We slept with the doors open and a mosquito net around the bed. Can't remember last time I slept this good.
We stayed early July in 2 bed suite with private pool including breakfast. The accommodation was great, first room with double bed and the other with two large singles, both rooms with ensuite. The duvet and towels were a little discoloured due to age but were spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was good, there was too much food to eat! Bali coffee was lovely. The properties are set in a ravine overlooking rice fields with stunning views. The property is quite remote so shuttle bus they provided into Ubud was good, the last pick up being 20:30 which suited us as by that point places are slowing down. The only thing I would mention would be the size of the portions when ordering room service, it could be a little more. Other than that overall I would definitely recommend pondok sebatu villas, for its service, location and kind staff. Would definitely return.
Quite a place ”
Staffs were really nice and helpful. My villa got rice field view, which is really great view, especially during sunset. Breakfast was ok, buffet dinner with traditional food and dance were good. Facilities in the room could be better, hair drier was too small, water pot with coffee station didn’t have plug, TV with cable didn’t work well, phone line was out of service; it took them around half an hour but couldn’t work. Anyway, overall was ok.
awesome place, lovely people, great service and the hotel grounds amazing! It was so peaceful! It's a bit far from central Ubud (that's a good thing), but they provide free shuttles to the markets and back. It was really convenient! Would def come again here!
Beautiful resort which felt secluded and private with full of activities! Nice pool facing the rice terrace padi and staff is very friendly.
Very calming and peaceful”
Our stay in Pondok Sebatu was worthwhile. It was very calming and peaceful. Nature lovers will absolutely love this place. They also offer free shuttle to Ubud Center or if you like more adventure, you can rent a motorbike for 100k IDR per day.
Sebatu was an amazing spot with fantastic views over the rice terraces. The design and landscaping”
Wonderful secluded Villas to enjoy nature but close enough to Ubud if guests prefer arts, shops and restaurants. The breakfasts were delicious with lots of choice. The staff were very attentive. Mada a local driver gave me a 7 HR tour of area which was excellent and very informative of local customs. Each of the Villas were unique. Morning Yoga overlooking Terraces was exceptional. Dinners in restaurant were tasty and good value. Recommend at least 3 to 4 nights to have time to decompress and enjoy the benefits and wonderful pools. IF I lived closer it would be a preferred location for an annual retreat.
Amazing setting and views”
Private small swimming pool in the room (even though the water was quite cold because of the rain at night), very quiet place, amazing views on the rice terrace when having breakfast, nice infinity pool, nice staff that can help to book driver/car to visit the area, cleaning room and changing bedsheets daily, breakfast is so so.
Lovely place! ”
We really enjoyed our stay at Pondok Sebatu Villa! The villas and surroundings are absolutely beautiful. Breakfast and food in the restaurant is delicious! The staff is so helpful and friendly and will definitely do that little extra to make your stay even better. Can definitely recommend this place!
Great location for a peaceful vacation”
The villa has its own mini pool, tub and a nice big bed. Food is also very nice. Location is good for couples who want to be away from the busyness of Ubud City center. They offer activities within the resort like the neighborhood tour to see how locals live. It was really a nice experience. we even walked at the rice terraces. There's also a time when i wanted to have a massage, and though it's past 8 in the evening, they still accommodated me.
Nice view only”
Pros - Hotel view facing rice field, great nature view. Full amenities offered including insect repellents. Nice welcome fruits displayed. Friendly and humble staffs. They also provide shuttle bus to town with certain timing only and tours/trips options. Cons - We couldn’t enjoy a single moment in private pool neither common pool due to not temperature control, pointless to pay for private pool villa. Hotel location is too far away from everything. Not good for people who has knee condition coz the rooms required climb stairs. We found stained towel after shower. With the money that we paid should can get other better options as per the local guide.
Such a peaceful hotel ”
My friend and I stayed there for one night and we wish we could stay there longer. The room was so nice and clean and the bed is very comfy. I love to wake up and see the view of the filed outside. However, the location is pretty isolated but that what makes the hotel standout. The staff has prepared us takeaway breakfast because we had to leave the hotel very early to Nusa Panida which made us feel so pleased. They are very helpful :)
we travel often and have been to many beautiful places, and sebatu takes the prize. Pondok Sebatu Villas was absolutely amazing. It was incredibly peaceful and had even our three-year-old saying she wanted to stay there forever. From the refreshing spring water pool, gorgeous views, to the responsive and helpful staff, this is where to spend your time in the Ubud area.
A magical place ”
When our taxi took us some 40 minutes beyond Ubud city Centre up into the hills past the Tegalalang Rice Terraces, I must say we feared the worst. It was further than we thought, and the terrain more rugged. But what was waiting for us to was the most beautiful hotel, facing terraced rice paddies, set into a steep grassy hill. The staff greeted us with wide-eyed smiles and open arms. We felt at home right away. The service was 10/10 throughout our trip. My wife and I were made to feel like King and Queen. The food 7/10. The massage and facilities 9/10. The location does make traveling in and around Ubud difficult - finding a good driver is imperative - but if you’re looking for peace and relaxation, look no further. All in all, we would like to say thank you to Pondok Sebatu for making our trip so magical.
Beautiful secluded location”
Pros and cons: + Location is very quiet and in the center of the jungle. + Nice view overlooking the rice terrace from the bungalow. + Beautiful infinity pool. + Good breakfast. - Location, as it's a 30 min ride by scooter from central Ubud. You need to rent a scooter to get around, as taxi prices are pretty expensive.
Stunning views, amazing villa and floating breakfast!”
We stayed here for three nights and had the most amazing relaxing time when in the villa. We did a lot of exploring so wish we could have been there more but it was lovely to come back to. The staff were so friendly and helpful too, the food was delicious both dinner and breakfast. We also had the floating breakfast which was a new experience! Great for the insta photos!! Would definitely recommend :)
My time there was wonderful. Staffs are friendly and very helpfull. Floating breakfast is fantastic with great rice field from the public pool. Room is super spacious and very private. It created a feeling like you was out of busy life to calm yourself and find the peace inside you. I would like to recommend this hotel for who want to have that feeling. Surely i will be back this hotel next time
If you're looking for a secluded and quiet place to stay, this is the best! My family love this place. Its quiet, the view is wonderful and all u can hear are the animals' wonderful sounds. Booked the 2-bedrooms pool villa with the mountain view and it was amazing. Kids love the pool although the water was cold, it didnt stop the kids at all. I ate lunch at the restaurant and the food was delicious! Love the steak!! But as for breakfast, it was a-ok for me. The pastries were hard and cold. :( My aircon was leaking but it was fixed on the spot. Perfect. Staffs were very friendly and they gave personal touch by remembering my name and saying hi whenever they see me walking around the resort. As for getting to the resort, u need skills to drive to the resort, better still, hire a local driver. Other than that, its a perfect place for anyone who wants to be away from the Ubud centre.
Good resort and helpful staff”
Very friendly and helpful staff. They help to carry luggage, arrange shuttle, serve dinner to room and whenever there is a need. The resort has a lot of interactive programmes such as handicraft making, culture dinner with dance performance, rice field trekking, etc. The pool is nice as showed on website but the water is too cold so i didn't really see anyone using it. The location is not good but luckily the food is outstanding and beyond our expectation so we don't necessarily need to go out for food.
Wow!! What an absolute gem of a Villa. Beautiful villas, gorgeous outlook across to the rice fields, friendly and super helpful staff, and the food..... I have no words for the food, so delicious. We asked to see the chef on the last night to pass on our thanks directly - his food selection was great and the flavours something you’d expect from a high end city restaraunt, not hidden amongst the rural rice fields near Ubud. We had a brilliant and relaxing 3 days at Pondok Sebatu in a 2 bedroom pool villa and wouldn’t hesitate to return - even if just to watch the fire flies dance across the dark rice fields each evening. Highly recommend staying here 🙂
