Decent and Comfortable Place to stay”
It was an emergency business trip and one that I made arrangements in a hurry. It was my first time in Bacolod and wanted to stay in a decent and yet comfortable place with reasonable amenities. Sugarland was a good choice as it provided a nice, clean place for me and my husband. One thing though, the bed's head board is not nailed to the walk and thus causes sounds when you toss and turn at night. Still, I would choose to stay in Sugarland again, if the opportunity arises again.
Nice hotel catering to many events Good restaurant Breakfast could be better Rooms are Good Beds need attention Aircon are old style all in one units Staff are great
Because I booked through Agoda, complimentary in room coffee and bottled water was not offered and available. Safe was not working and advised it can only be fixed on Monday. Mini refrigerator was not stocked and not working...nowhere to plug it in. Room 237 should be evaluated. I just didn't feel the WELCOME because my booking was through Agoda!
Average stay but worth the price paid”
The hotel was not that expensive but not that cheap either, just in between. Their food is good however, the pool area where they serve breakfast is too small. People seem to be crowded and it's quite noisy also. I wished the variety of available food will be increased. The food was served near the entrance which is not really the ideal place to put it.
Sugarland Hotel never disappoints.”
I was a regular guest at Sugarland in 2006 to 2009. I have always been impressed by how the rooms were tastefully decorated and the efficiency of the staff. For a time I stopped using Sugarland because I would like to try other hotels in the city. Finally, this time around, I cam full circle as Sugarland is the only one that can offer me the home that I need while away from home. Next time, no more experiments. Next time, it will be Sugarland Hotel. Just one more thing to improve, the small TV has to go. :)
At Home within my Homeland”
I live in Bacolod City but since I'm not based there anymore, everytime i went home i choose to stay in this hotel. The place is not that spacious, but reasonable enough to give you a feeling of luxury. The receptionists are well versed in vernacular and Filipino language, and they make sure they wear that welcoming smile everytime they encounter me:D Our room is so lovely that you would rather stay and spend most of the day rather than go out and wander the busy streets of the city. Perfect for overnight stay and bonding with your loved ones :D
Quiant hotel with sunny receiption”
Our brief stay of two (2) nights at the hotel was very pleasant. From the time we checked in until we checked out, the service staff, with their very warm smiles, were very helpful. The room was just the right size for a brief stay, and the bathroom was modern enough.
Back In Time City of Smiles!”
Never a dull moment when my family and I stayed at Sugarland Hotel for a week. My family and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Its a dream come true after ten years that I haven't been to Bacolod City, I finally came to stay at my "dream hotel" in Negros Occidental, Philippines. My family and I had a great time and we cherished every moment of every day of our stay and we'll definitely recommend Sugarland Hotel globally since the overall package was excellent. I'm thankful for our spectacular vacation stay at Sugarland Hotel and for all the staff members that made Sugarland Hotel five of five stars! -Khris S. Abne
Gone were the glory days.”
This hotel was recommended by a friend but it doesn't measure up anynore. Might've been a great hotel in the past but not anymore. Cons: 2nd Floor wifi does not work even with the router at our room door. Rooms were always served for 2 people even if there were 3 people booked for the room. 2 towels, 2 breakfast, etc. Rooms overseeing the pool is horrible for noise for all the booked functions in the evening will blast you with their sound system. Elevator does not have a door close button so you will have to wait till it closes. My laptop monitor is bigger than their TV. No gym nor at least a Treadmill. Pros: Nice helpful staff
The staff are very nice and very disabled-friendly. Food is great. The breakfast buffet is great value for my money. Bathrooms in our accommodation are not wheel chair accessible and disabled-friendly.
old but still very good. could be a little noisy at the lobby but the room is quiet.
The hotel has a cosy and nice athmospere. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. The pool was refreshing, the water clean. It was nice to have the breakfast beside the pool. The variety of the breakfast buffet was excellent, a little bit Filipino, a little bit Western style and plenty of fresh fruits . The restaurant served also excellent dishes - Flipino - Western at reasonable prices. All over all I could recommend this hotel for a stay in Bacolod and I will definately stay again during my next trip to Bacolod.
Very affordable for the quality of stay and service, the hot water was awesome!”
PROS: - Hot water in both sink and shower! How awesome is that! - Love the bed! Very comfy - AC was really cold and comfy -Staff are accommodating and courteous -The breakfast was not fantastic but filling CONS: - there was construction being done near our room (Room 345) so we had a hard time trying to sleep in - The lobby area (probably because of foot traffic) was not really tidy. Especially the area near the sofa set with the rug. There was hair, scuff marks and i don't know what. - They reserved seats near the pool at breakfast time, we were there 8am... we were done with breakfast at 9;30am and still those who reserved the space were still not around. We had to eat inside sampaguita hall where the AC was not sufficient since the guests who were made to eat inside the hall went in and out of the place and the warm draft from outside filtered in through the open doors...however, staff was apologetic, and since they were just doing their job, i cannot fault them for it.
Family with child and senior citizen”
This was our third stay at the hotel. Place was clean. Elevator was small, sign says can carry up to 9 pax but overloads at 5 regular sized people. Receptionists were very courteous. Waiters at their resto needs to be retrained (my wife asked for a spoon to stir her coffee, waiter took my used spoon and gave it to her so we just shared, also have to call their attention to get used plates though they are clearly seen piling up on the table). Very few choices for breakfast, nothing to get excited about. Hot water doesnt work. Will likely come back due to its location, ambiance and friendly staff.
comfortable, great staff and great for a function.”
The hotel is nice and adequate in every way. If you want to book this hotel for a wedding or event then I would definitely recommend it and I think that is their speciality. The food is OK and they have both western and Filipino dishes. Goldenfields is nearby and it is situated on the main highway so you can access all the transport links north or south without being in the chaos of down town. The main downside is that the pool is effectively not useable because there is always a function in their or in some other use so count the pool out.
Best of the Best”
I have stayed at many hotels while in the Philippines. I would like to say that the Sugarland is one of the best if not the best. The staff is excellent and professional. Cleanliness was fantastic, and the rooms you could not ask for much more they were OUTSTANDING. The only thing was location, but hey with the great service, staff and the cleanliness above many of the hotels that I have stayed at even in the United States, I really really enjoyed my stay.
nothing special..BUT CLEAN”
there was a large wedding..so the noise filtered into my room. Annoying but not enough to complain. After all..it was a wedding staff were very helpful in helping with ferry times. the pool is for toddlers. Not as what I hoped for..i try always to get a hotel with pool so I can do my laps. This pool..is only for kids. A small square.
A good hotel.”
Sugarland hotel is good. It has excellen service, good foods, good location. But one problem I'd like to point out is that inside of an air conditioner needs to be cleaned. I cleaned the air conditioner with an wet towel myself.
One fault ruins all.”
What a tragedy, this hotel has the potential to be one of the nicest in Bacolod, the staff at the counter exemplary, smiles and pleasantness were abundant .The next move was to the elevator, my wife and i covered our noses instantly the door was closed, the stench was overpowering, in the two days we were there it never got any better, then on the third floor the smell changed to a smell not dissimilar to vomit. My goodness me don't the staff use the same elevator and attempt to make it better for their guests, don't ruin a good hotel by this obvious indiscretion.
Excellent service personnels”
my experience with Sugarland Hotel have been positive and will definitely recommend to friends if visiting Bacolod City. Its the people that makes the customer experience memorable and what i have seen and felt was excellence people attitude. Please send my deep appreciation and thanks to staff
