Excellent foyer Excellent restaurant Staff great Stayed on 2 different occasions.Went out of our way to stay the second time.We were doing the Roro.
Good for a few nighr's stay”
The hotel has very courteous staff. The room is clean and sufficient. Just need to improve on pest control. I see mosquitoes flying inside the rooms (I booked on separate days) good thing I brought mosquito patches for my kid. They also probably need to install brighter lights, the rooms are too dim so it makes it challenging for travellers who have kids. Overall though, I'd say the hotel is satisfactory.
It has only one positive”
One positive is it’s location. The hotel seems kinda old, charges for everything (including ice) and has single beds in all rooms. The latter I expect is because this feels like a business conference hotel; such a shame they can’t accommodate people who aren’t part of a conference. And they have a strange (and quite naive) policy of having 1 complimentary breakfast per room. But, 2 beds, 2 towels, 2 sets of coffee cups etc. Plus, the breakfast really isn’t that good. Staff are friendly, but I feel sorry for them in the way this hotel is managed.
Great staff. Excellent service.
Hosted our Wedding which was attended by our Friends and Family, there was a bit of confusion as bookings done through different sites, but on arrival staff were first class, and made it less stressful. The Wedding was fantastic and will always be in our hearts and memories for the special day which the hotel played a part in.
Good enough for a business travel”
PRO - Booked a room on promo so it’s relatively cheap - A big hotel with facilities a business traveler would need - Breakfast selection is ok for the room price - Standard room is spacious for a solo traveller - Location is very accessible to everything CON - Breakfast is for one only even if the room is for two (they gave me a room with 2 beds) - Hotel interior and rooms kinda look old; it’s built in 2006 - They don’t allow room charge for food/drinks you order; you always have to pay outright (at least for what I ordered thru room service and for extra breakfast)
Good hotel but awful billing system”
This hotel would probably suit your needs as a traveler with a vehicle but their billing system is not exactly very efficient. While having breakfast, I was pestered by the waiter to pay my bill immediately and wont have it settled with the rest of by bills upon checkout. This is strange for a hotel.
A homey place in Bacolod City”
Exceeded my expectations. :) I'm happy we chose Planta Centro. The place is clean, well maintained, not too many guests. The place looks old, but it has aged gracefully like it has a classic charm. There were guests complaining that the free breakfast should be good for 2. But later on, I thought the cost is practical. Its like paying 145 pesos for a meal of 2 adults. They give consideration to small children. Its better than to walk 1 block away for a fast food breakfast, plus their food is good in my opinion. Our vehicle is parked securely on their gated compound. They have security guards 24x7. I'd stay here again if ever we'll come back to Bacolod and highly recommend to anyone who's considering to stay here.
It's an old hotel. Just a jeepney ride from SM. A few minutes walk there is this chicken house resto. Had a very nice meal there. Just in front of the hotel you can buy souvenirs from bong bongs and merczi
Fantastic value if you book 2 singles”
Great value if you book standard with 2 single beds. Breakfast for one is free. Pool is very small and there are functions next to it i.e. there was a wedding and full guests just yards away, so decided my swim shorts did not fit in with that. 5 mns walk to Gaisano Mall, but just a brisk 20 minue walk to the main plaza. In the morning it can be noisy with guests and cleaning staff chatting in the echoey corridor plus very load radios. they need to think that one out. Tv did not work, I asked for it to be fixed but it was not. Volume went down to zero and back up by iteslf every 20 seconds. usless to watch. But best value I've had in a long time.
Breakfast was repetitive, often with nothing left and awaiting refills. A hotel this size needs to purchase a proper toaster. The breakfast area is not big enough so it is important to get there early to ensure you get seating and not have to wait for refilling. This is the third time I have been to the Planta. I was lucky as the room overlooked a side road far enough from the main road to not suffer so much traffic noise, which is usually a problem. Overall the Planta is very good value for money and walking distance to town and the malls.
A great but noisy hotel”
The hotel is very good value for money. The breakfast staff were extremely attentive. It was the best service I have ever experienced anywhere .On the downside, when checking in we were told that a double bed rather than twin beds would cost an additional 800 pesos/night. We opted to have the beds pushed together (for a 12 night stay it got expensive). The shower only had cold water. Even after it was supposedly fixed, warm water was sporadic, even if you were patient and waited 15 mins for the temperature to change. It never got more than luke warm. I really like the hotel and the excellent staff, but I won't be stopping there again. It is just too noisy to get a good nights sleep. I have stayed at the Planta twice. The first time the room looked onto the main road. This time it was onto a side street, but equally as noisy, due to the exhaust noises of the vehicles going by in the early hours of the morning. If you are a heavy sleeper I would recommend this hotel for value for money and quality of service.
just what i need”
just the right place for business traveler big parking quiet ,and very clean ... wifi a bit slow and breakfast is only for one person so if you are two in the same room be ready to pay additional any way it`s still a good place to stop
One night at Planta Centro”
It turned out there was a prom being held on the night we stayed at Planta Centro. The students were noisy. We didn't mind it at first since they were understandably having a good time. However, my husband was sick and we were looking at an early day ahead. We called up the front desk to complain about the noise. We were pleased that the staff acted on it right away. Had a good night's rest Breakfast was nothing special. We were surprised though that for a room with two guests, they only provided free breakfast for ONE.
Quaint and quiet hotel”
This was my second time to stay at Planta Centro. It has an old nostalgic feel. The room is comfortable and spacious enough. It needs a bit of a touch up though and the internet service in the rooms was not exactly reliable. Still, I would return to this hotel gladly.
Great location and friendly staff.”
The hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating, Room is clean from a distance but when you look closer there is dirt around the corners of the room including the bath tub. Towels need to be laundered w/ softener and whitener. The room is for 2 pax but they give only one complimentary breakfast. Hotel's location is good and accessible to public transportation.
in the middle of everywhere”
the hotel was a short walk to the mall and the "talipapa" (wet market). the room, including the bathroom, was clean and quite spacious. we got one that was near the pool and that added to the ambiance. you can control the tv as well as room temperature by remote control and that provided additional convenience. breakfast was nice and sumptuous. the pouring water in the swimming pool can be used to massage your body as the pressure was quite strong. at that time of the year (august) however, there were some mosquitoes in the open lobby and some managed to get inside our room but overall, our stay was fantastic.
A great hotel to stay”
All in all it was great, spacious clean room big bathroom which is quite new. The place is within the city limits and it was easy to go to places of interest. The breakfast is good and has a variety to choose from. Overall it was an excellent place.
Good location, good price”
I have not been in Bacolod for 17 years and Planta was a welcome treat. Staff was friendly, rooms were generally clean and the buffet was sumptous to say the least. Counter was a little small though to accommodate all the guests. There was also free wi-fi which was a good add-on. The restaurants near by have a certain unique quality too.
Pros: - mattress is a little hard yet comfy - i love the pillows! - staff are polite and helpful - breakfast buffet not bad - good sized room - location is good there are few food establishments nearby i.e Jollibee, McDonald's, bong bongs pasalubong shop Cons: - not very well maintained i.e. shower head broken, towel rack is out of shape, shower curtain is stained, toilet bowl is stained - i asked specifically to be placed in a quiet room and i got the corner room facing the busy street - corporate events were held two consecutive nights with checked in guests causing chaos and loud noises along the hotel hallway at 1am - no drinking water provided
