We knew we were going to arrive late (midnight) from KL and only stayed a night at Planters Hotel. We checked out the next day. Room, bathroom were clean. Bed was okay. Sheets may have been a little sketchy but it could've been the soft lighting. We were on the second floor, so the sounds of street activity was pretty audible the next morning. We had the windows open. No A/C. Consistent with the hotels I've stayed in Cameron Highlands. I guess they don't really need A/C. The plus side to this hotel is that it's pretty much right smack on the main road at Tanah Rata. Restaurants, food court, night markets, bank and currency exchange are all within walking distance - either just across the road or along the same shopfront-corridor.Our agoda-booked room didn't come with breakfast. The restaurant right next door to reception area could be part of the hotel. We had breakfast a few doors down from the hotel though. Decent, fuss-free, great location but definitely don't expect creature comforts or a calm, serene, quiet stay.
Clean and Great location”
planters hotel consider is a new renovated hotel and it's clean. hotel located in the tanah rata town and very convenience. the hotel is close to major bank such as maybank, cimb & ambank. restaurants are just same row with the hotel. however it located a few km to brinchang, needed transport to arrange own transport.
A nice and neat small hotel”
The hotel is very clean and neat. Strategically located at the central of Tanah Rata, which makes it easy for us to find foods and all other stuffs. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. Probably the speed of the elevator needs improvement as it is very slow :)
The hotel is Clean and comfortable. ”
This Hotel is good. The Room is comfortable and clean. The receptionist is ver helpful. The hotel is near to restourant. Is Worth to leave in Planters Hotel.
Newest hotel in Tamah Rata, Love the service!”
I had a fun stay at this newest hotel along the Tamah Rata stretch. It is near to the bus interchange, shops, eateries and night market. The location is quieter than Binchang, which is good since you get to enjoy the tranquility of Cameron Highlands.
Clean and located near the bus terminal”
My stay in Planters Hotel is good. I contacted the reception before I arrived. He consulted me very well. One thing I would like to complain is the location in Google Maps is not matched with the actual location. However, the reception told me the correct location one.
new hotel surrounded with all facilities”
we were given the road frontage family room which is so noisy - facing tanah rata main road. however, the room is so spacious, has big shower area, 32' lcd tv and very clean but no room service/phone in the room. requested another 2 towels since day 1 coz the room is for 4 person but no respond till check out. toiletries is so basic, therefore don't forget to bring your own....parking - by roadside, no hotel parking. food - we booked room with breakfast (buffet)but the waitress said can only take either one: nasi lemak bungkus (very small), nasi goreng (also small portion or bread & butter, can't eat all on the buffet table. what a rule??????
Probably the best hotel in Tanah Rata township”
This was a comfortable hotel on the not-too-busy main street of Tanah Rata, well-placed for walks, restaurants and for moving on. The breakfast service in the on-site cafe was disappointing though.
Great location, good rooms, nice zstaff”
We stayed in Planters hotel for 2 nights. The location is great - close to everything you need. The rooms are new, staff is helpful. The hotel is good value for money.
Clean and Basic hotel”
hotel is only 3 months old, everything in the room function and clean. have wifi in the walkway. have tv with hbo and espn channel. hotel is just good for sleep, in my opinion that's all you need for cameron highlands. most of the time you will be out sightseeing.
OK for the price but could be better”
Well located on the main street of Tanah Rata. Efficient reception and decent if slightly small room for the price. Need stronger wi fi as it doesn't work at all once you leave the lobby. Sitting in the lobby to use the internet is not the best experience here as there are only a few seats, no table, no drinks machine (either hot or cold). We ended up sitting in Starbucks just down the road in a much more comfy environment with a super fast and reliable connection. If they can do it why can't Planters? If they advertise something as a selling point they should ensure it works - you may gather internet is quite important for us on our year long travels! Another question is why put a kettle in the room without any cups? We also had to ask for towels to be supplied as when we arrived there were none in the room. Give the staff their due, they arrived very promptly. Just a little more effort and forethought and this could be a so much better place to stay. Time to start thinking about the requirements of the modern traveller!
Location is its blessing and bane”
since it is a newly renovated hotel, i expect much of its facilities is at least brand new. i found out that the room's wooden flooring, bathroom, furniture, tv sets are all new except for the mattress which softens even when i'm sitting down. no fan is provided in the room, hence opening the windows is the only option to aerate the room which 1) attracts mosquito (no window netting is install) and 2) allows outside noise to penetrate the room. my room on the 2nd floor at the rear side of the hotel is facing the local wet market and next to the road. hence it is noisy even when the curtains are drawn completely. notwithstanding the above minor complains, my stay in this hotel is overall satisfactory. room and hotel corridor is spanking clean. room is spacious. reception staff and even the cleaning lady is courteous. check in and out is fast. food stalls, cafe, atm/ banks, bus/taxi station, clinic, dobby are all only footsteps away.
We enjoy our stay and wish to visit again”
We enjoy our stay and wish to visit again in near future. Our room very nice, clean and comfortable that suite my family, view facing to small town of Tanah Rata. Surroundings with convenience store, bank, eateries and easy parking. Additional comments: -As the hotel situated at heart of town; it is noisy (would suggest to management to install"sound proof window". This can bring extra comfort especially at night (bed time). -The room didn't have hair dryer, ice box, phone, coffee/tea. -No hot water on basin. -No breakfast -Staff not so friendly
New and clean hotel”
The hotel is very new and strategically located on the same row with the Starbucks at Tanah Rata. The room is clean and the bathroom is really big. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. However, must try to get higher room (level 3 or 4) as the lower rooms tend to be quite noisy due the location of the hotel (roadside) and oily/smelly/smoky from the restaurant at the ground floor. Overall the hotel is good but slightly over-priced.
awesome and friendly hotel”
overall it is a good stay with my friend. my friend like the design very much and it will good if able to provide breakfast. i definately will stay at planters hotel next time.
Comfortable Stay ”
the hotel location is perfect - in the middle of tanah rata town and share the same row with many shops and restaurant which make it very convinient. hotel room is comfortable but some upgrades will make it better a better choice for travellers. for eg, the wall paints has worn off and the mattress spring is shabby. perhaps hotel should provide hair dryer in the room as well in future. overall, me and my wife had a good stay.
A truly great experience.”
A very pleasant stay at a magnificently renovated boutique hotel.Staff were extremely helpful and only too willing to assist with on ward travel. The hotel is in a perfect location in Tana Rata's main street.I have no hesitation in recommending the Planters Hotel.
happy staying in planters hotel! great facility, great services, great people
Warmest and lovely hotel”
Everything is excellent. But the door wisor always alarm.Otherwise, no carpark will provided for guess staying in planter hotel.
No hot water, shower with ice cold water”
The staffs were very friendly and helpful, but the facilities were too bad. There were no hot water available during our stay, we need to boil it manually using water heater to bath. Plug are only 1 in the huge bedroom, which are very inconvenience for travellers to charge up their devices. The cleanliness were average for me, they should do better with the price we paid. Overall, quite disappointing cause Cameron Highland is a very cold place, hot water should be available all the time. We had to use the ice cold water to wash and shower, which is very bad experience for me. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone regarding my experience, sorry.
