We arrived around 9:00 AM and left our bags at reception for storage before heading out to explore. When we returned around 3:00 PM for check-in, everything went smoothly. Prior to arrival, the property sent a clear and timely email with instructions on how to access the reception floor, as well as information about the AUD 200 deposit—very helpful and well-organized. The location is excellent: Flagstaff Gardens is just nearby for a morning run, the tram stop is only a few hundred meters from the entrance and within the Free Tram Zone, and both Queen Victoria Market and Melbourne Central are within a comfortable 5–10 minute walk. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The only minor inconvenience was the lack of an in-room dryer. Guests can use the shared dryer on Level 3 (at the reception during their opening hours of 9AM-10pm), or hang clothes to dry using the portable clothesline provided. It rained for a few days during our stay, so air-drying took longer—especially since the standing fan in our room wasn’t working properly. Other than that small issue, everything else was great! I would happily and wholeheartedly recommend staying here. If you needed to go to the reception other than during check in, you'd need to intercom them from the ground floor for them to give you lift acces to their floor. Cash deposit refunded once you return the keys back to reception. If you deposited using credit card, you'd only need to leave your key in the unit before you leave. No idea how long it would take to refund if using credit card though

The location is without doubt the best! Close to everything - shopping centres, train stations, trams, food, and entertainment. It's less than 20 mins easy walk from the Airbus Station. Or if you prefer to take the tram, you save about 5 mins. The apartment is very nice, except the unit we stayed in had a pungent smell. Good thing the windows could be opened to air the place. It was much better but the smell was still lingering. Do not be fooled by their no frills check-in as the room more than makes up for it. This is not a hotel, it is a serviced apartment. We went to level 3 for check-in which was fast and as soon as I got the keys, we went straight to the room. The room and bathroom was very clean. The location is superb as free tram is available at the front and both side streets of the property. Melbourne Central shopping center is right down the corner with a lot of food, shopping and even Coles for grocery needs. Nearest fast food is Hungry Jacks but walk just a little bit further and there will be other options. Cafes are aplenty everywhere you walk even bubble tea is everywhere. We walked mostly to the tourist spots and rode the tram whenever we felt like it. Staying in Platinum City Serviced Apartments is the best decision we did that made our stay in Melbourne very memorable. Staff are also accommodating, polite and efficient and they kept our luggage for free while waiting for our flight leaving from Melbourne. Please note though that this is not a hotel, so their office is not open 24/7 so better coordinate your arrival time early, and no daily cleaning service. I don't know how often one can request for it since we didn't need it.
