Playa de Paraiso Resort
Terrible accommodations. Dirty and smelly. Flies on pillows, mold all over bathroom. ”
No pro. Hotel in bad shape both inside and outside. Stay away!!
Good day, as you said "What do you expect? It's a two-star hotel." The moment you arrived you are unhappy. You wanted to move to other hotel, we accommodated you. While accommodating you, you were walking around as if you were not talking to the receptionist. If our place cannot fit your standards. We still do our best to give our best service as TWO-STAR HOTEL in a third world country. The other 10 rooms with you have no problem with us. Anyway, thank you for taking time to review. God bless you.
The room was spacious & very clean. Bathroom was w/o a shower curtain but had enough water always. Although its location was far from the "main action" along Nueva Valencia, it offered privacy & a ready pool. The beachfront was wide & not as beautiful as the NV side but also had a nice view devoid of a public beach. We enjoyed the selfies.... The food stood out since it was not that pricey but delicious.
I love the food. The staff are very hospitable.
Paradise on earth”
When somebody wants to know where is the paradise on earth, I know the answer. It's Playa de Paraiso Resort on the Island Guimaras. It's such a quiet and peaceful place. The swimmingpool is just a few steps from the room, the sea is so nearby and the walk along the beach is a wonderful experience. There are many places to sit, relax, read a book or enjoy the view over the sea. Above all the staff is very friendly, the meals are great. Sure we will come back and advise everyone who is looking for a peaceful vacation to go here. There is also a class for learning kitesurfing, good wind and waves . It's near Iloilo and Bacolod, just a short boatride. Thom Hofstra and Berthilde van der Zwaag from the Netherlands.
Very friendly and accommodating staff
never coming back”
- location is so far from everything - we did not even take a dip in the beach - had a problem with our booking... they insisted that it was cancelled, the staff that i talked to did not called the customer service to check my reservation. With crappy cellphone signal, it was I who called agoda to confirmed my booking for them... i already presented them my confirmed booking from the app and email from agoda - they cannot even provide ice when dining
look for other place to stay”
they cannot even provide ice when dining
Don’t waste your time”
This place charges for the use of utensils, Plates forks etc, there a notice in the room, “no free” limited English speaking , the room I booked I couldn’t take because they had some Church event they hosted , gave another room wasn’t nice and charged me the same as the room I booked, this place looks nice in the pics but it’s the rear the front looks like a haunted house , it’s for local ppl foreigners will be disappointed,, I couldn’t believe they charge extra for blankets, water, toilet paper, WiFi only worked good Sunday I stayed 4 days, there aren’t any restaurants near unless you bring your own food to cook and eat you will get screwed buying food from them..
simply not true
I have stayed in this place 3 times and I keep coming back. My family and I enjoy the place and the people.
Great staff but quite remote”
Staff were incredibly friendly. When we started to head out at night to a restaurant we were intercepted 5 mins into walking where two staff picked us up on motorbikes and took us there because they were worried about us getting lost. In terms of the hotel, it is probably typical of a province type resort. It's very remote, most things close at 7pm. The place itself was clean and presentable though perhaps not the thing you would look for if modern is to your taste. There is a couple of reasonable pools though not huge and some token gym equipment. There is a kid's playground from yesteryear that brings back memories. The beach is very small and when the tide comes in, almost non-existent so don't go here for the beach. The food here is excellent. Whoever is in the kitchen, take a bow. The chicken kiev was superb!
The hotel is situated about 40 mins from Buenavista. The place looks better than it actually is, rooms are spartan, with no wardrobes, we upgraded and wasn’t much improvement as shower was hot but low flow, it did have a bath. The pool was dirty and cloudy, adding chlorine, doesnt necessarily clean a pool, you would like to swim in clean clear water, but no such luck. No WiFi or TV reception, also no network so unable to txt friends or family. The food was very good and the staff most helpful, just a oity the hotel falls down on other fronts
need to improve on: - selection of food - more seafood please - beach area - if can be done - better to clean up the beach area to swim in.
Wonderful Place To Relax”
The resort is staffed by friendly and very hospitable staff. We were given 2 standard rooms with air conditioining away from the social hall so it was quiet at night. Wonderful sea breeze flowing through the rooms when doors are opened with a nice view of the sea and Negros island from a distance. The only thing missing are complimentary toiletries (i.e. guest size soap and shampoo and a face cloth for the guest). Also a adequate size top sheet and blankets would be nice to sleep withl. All in all, I would not hesitate coming to stay at this resort again. :) :) :)
It's far from the town and the sights. Swimming pool is dirty so we didn't use it. Only nice about this resort are the great staff.
The sister of the owner I think act like the most boastful in the universe, instead of entertsining guest, she shouted and get mad on us coz we book at their hotel hahaga what an attitude of a host
The sister of the owner was not in the Hotel that day she was in Manila. She is also very nice and polite so we are sure what this guest is talking about.
Comfortable Stay for Families”
Pros: Rooms are spacious, have extra mattresses, and are kept quite clean. We actually could have fit our whole group in fewer rooms. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. It's a big property where the children had a lot of room to play. Cons: Location isn't ideal since it's far from the island hopping areas. WiFi didn't reach the Superior rooms that are located outside of the main building.
Be Careful the "Breakfast Included" isn't True!”
I booked the room for 6 which was told include breakfast. However they only provide "two" free breakfast and "two" free soap and tooth brush for five of us ...felt awful!
We visited as a family group and had a wonderful holiday, relaxing and quiet yet with plenty to do with the kids. Our rooms were luxurious, spacious and immaculate with good wifi. The food was delicious, loads of fresh fruit ( best mangoes in the world!). We noticed that there were facilities to self cater by the beach as well but we did not avail of these. It's so close to the beach that we explored along the coast every day and also inland by bike and by motorbike when we wanted to go further afield. ( There is great diving on the far side of the island.) The staff are amazing, friendly and efficient. Mostly though the kids swam in one of the three pools and also in the sea at high tide. They also had plenty to amuse themselves in the playground and gardens. We adults played tennis and relaxed in the evenings on the veranda overlooking the pool and with the sea and neighbouring islands in the background it was a little bit of heaven. All in all fantastic value for money .....we definitely intend to return some day.
Relaxing resort an hour away from Buenavista port”
This hotel, away from the crowded Nueva Valencia (Raymen etc.), is an hour away from the Buenavista port. We had the entire place to ourselves since the other guests checked out the night before. The room was clean and the staff was accommodating. We LOVED the place because it felt like a real vacation, a rest house. The place is on the windy side of Guimaras and is a few kilometers away from the windmill farm. The beach front is relaxing, waves are high, possible surfing during high tide? The tide can go so low that they'll be two small "sandbars". Only, the swimming pool wasn't so clean and the water pressure is low.
A Wonderful Oasis on a Beautiful Island”
There were four of us, with two rooms at the north end of the resort. The service was outstanding, with the staff so friendly and accommodating. The establishment is on the east side of Guimaras, and for those who are early risers it affords gorgeous sunrises. The food is generally outstanding, but the breakfasts were a highlight. Mangoes and other fruits were always included, and being in Guimaras, probably the best mangoes I've ever eaten. The rooms were very comfortable, and the swimming pool was just outside the rooms to refresh oneself, after a hot walk, or a long session of Videoke. All four of us felt so relaxed, and can't wait to come back. A true oasis with friendly welcoming smiles. If there was only one negative was that there was no wifi. But the way all of us approached this situation, was to say, "We are off the grid boys and girls." It made decompressing that much more enjoyable. A fantastic place to stay.
