Great Place for my Holiday”
I choose this hotel due to its swimming pool and very appreciate. The swimming pool by the sea is large, beautiful and well maintained. The room (beach front) is large, well designed and great view of the sea. I can see milky way from the room terrace. Foods is delicious, staff is friendly and helpful. Only thing to be concerned is that the beach is rocky not good to swim but Koh Mak is very small, you can rent a cheap motorbike to any beautiful beach within 10 - 30 min.
The Plub Plq Koh is very nice boutique hotel”
We reqlly enjoyed the Plub Pla Koh Mak retreat, this is a small boutique hotel, very quite with a great service. The hotel layout is nice, with low level buildings in white color. We really appreciated the breakfast taken with a pretty nice sea view, and a very good service. Z-We finally went every day for dinner at the small yacht club house owned by the same European owner. Quite and cosy atmospheer. There is not much to do in the surroundings, but this place is nice for resting 2-3 days.
Perfect, seren location”
This place was amazing! We arrived at the pier and there was no-one there to pick us up (we had arrived on the last boat in low season) but within a few minutes a local had rang the resort and a taxi (pick up truck) was on it's way to collect us. On arrival at the hotel and throughout our stay the staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The food was cooked beautifully and prices ranged from 100-400b for a dish. The restaurant overlooked the sea and breakfast was also served here - certainly a plesaant view to enjoy an evening drink or morning coffee. As in other reviews have mentioned when the tide was out it did leave beautiful rock pools to explore. The was a short beach where there was plenty of room to walk and collect shells. Personally perfect for a quiet walk at any point in the day. It is not a swimming beach but with the high number of jelly fish in and around Ko Mak I'm not sure I'd be wanting to swim anyway! There was a stunning infinity pool for those wanting to cool off during the day. The rooms were spacious and sportlessly clean. We had the jacuzzi room right on the beach with spectacular views and although not all the jets were working it certainly didn't spoil our enjoyment of the jacuzzi or the view. The decor was beautiful and the indoor and outdoor showers a lovely touch. We had a look at many of the other resorts on the island but I would definitely say that this is the best.
Luxury at its best”
I booked this luxury resort as a birthday present for my girl-friend and stayed there for 2 days only. Probably the best, luxury and comfortable accomodation on Koh Mak. I would coma again and enjoy the spacious room, the pool wir ocean view and the excellent restaurant.
Nice Resort, Nice Service but not so good location”
Everything was good but the location is not so good, stone beach and the seawater looks not so nice. You can find much better beach at the same price in Koh Mak but for the couple that needs silence and private, thi is recommended for you
Nice Resort with a Friendly Staff”
Plub Pla Koh is a very nice resort hotel, although it is slightly far from the main part of the island. The room was nice and comfortable. The environment is quiet and relaxing. The food was good and staff very friendly.
1 week holiday as a couple”
Overall great stay at Plub Pla, quiet and elegant south facing resort Pros: - beautiful gardens with large tropical trees and pretty bungalows - large and elegant infinity swimming pool (nicest of the island!) - very comfortable beds in clean and simple rooms (deluxe seaview 10 m away from beach) - friendly and helpful staff and quiet location away from main streets and restaurants (5 min by motorcycle from island center) - food was good, nothing amazing but great choice on the island Cons: - rooms may need a refresh especially electricity and showers inside (outside one did not really work) - would be nice to have somewhere to hang towels/swim suits to dry other than front of bungalows (for aesthetics) - a bit more effort to clean up the gardens and beach from small plastic waste (especially along steep pathway to resort and front of beach) and hide with bushes or vegetation working areas - no real swim in sea there because of presence of rocks but you can use kayaks
Great rooms, very relaxing”
We stayed here during our honeymoon. Our room was fantastic. A little stand alone villa right on the water. We could hear the waves gently lapping on the beach as we drifted off to sleep. The beach isn't much good for swimming as its very tidal, but the pool is lovely. Its definitely worthwhile to hire a motorbike so you can visit the rest of the island. Our favorite spot was the beach in front of Ko Mak Resort. Crystal clear water, very calm seas and picturesque scenery. Unfortunately the food at Koh Mak Retreat was not very good, but it forced us to get out and about and we found some great little places to eat including Chill Out and another almost next door to Chill Out called Bake house (or something similar - look for white wooden chairs and tables and some interesting photographs on the walls).
Our Second Trip, and More To Come”
Plub Pla is an oasis. It's not for people who need access to lots of activities. Rather, the opposite. If you want to get away, spend time with a loved one, read and relax, swim, and eat well, this is a fantastic getaway.
Fantastic hotel for relaxing”
Hotel is in line with Koh Mak : quiet and isolated enough to not be disturbed by tourists. Good size. Great Beach and pool. Good restaurant with vast choices.
This really is a super resort, hard to criticise so I wont try. Location is a little isolated but taxi is only 50 Baht per person or can hire small motorbike to trave round this small island. Plub Pla is SUPERB.
The greatest hotel in Kohmak we had a wonderful time in here at Plub pla . we will be back again next year . good food good staff and good location .
Great location, lovely hotel - untrustworthy staff”
We stayed at Plubpla resort as a couple. This was our first stay on Koh Mak and we were impressed with the serenity and beauty of the resort, it’s infinity pool and panoramic ocean views. The room Was basic but had all we need including air con and amenities. Food was acceptable, but there are better places to eat on the island. The hotel also offered a motorbike rental option which we took up on the first evening. I unfortunately left my wallet in the pocket of the motorbike, a few hours later when I realised I asked the staff and they were very unhelpful. I can’t be sure that it was a staff member who took the wallet but I’m sure it was taken as there is no way it could have fallen out. The bike I had rented had since been taken by one of the resort staff and was bought back without the wallet. And the 10,000 Bhat inside it. I wouldn’t mind if the wallet had been returned without the money, but to have the whole thing taken with very little help offered by the hotel staff. :(
Overly rooms, very clean, nice beach .”
Great views and lovely rooms really well maintained . Beach is good Hotel is really far from everything and there are no shops near , a motor bike is only option . Just restaurant for food which was very oily but decent enough . As far as that hotel offers nothing else, No massages etc . Great if you want to be completely away from everything . I would maybe stay nearer the centre next time as 100 pounds a room was steep considering all we could do was sit by the pool . Not to much to do on koh mak island . I would probably stay koh kood (paradise) in the furure And visit mak and kham for day trips .
Thank you for your "Excellent Service " Khun.Ake at Plub-pla
Nice location for relaxing, quiet and surrounding with nature, nice swimming pool, great staffs, two thumbs up for their service mind. Great food with same cost with restaurants at hotels or shopping malls in Bangkok. Request activity when do booking or check in and possible to cancel in advance if you did not feel like doing it, I did spend time and reading. Taking short trip to Koh Kham is recommended.
Plub Pla is superb. If you want a quiet relaxing time in a quality resort then this is it.
A peaceful retreat for a low price”
First of all, I would highly recommend this retreat for anyone looking to just relax and not do much of anything special. The island is very small and - for the moment at least - very quiet, but that is exactly what we were looking for. The retreat itself is very good value for the money and they also serve decent food with budget prices. The staff is friendly, but they sure should brush up on their English skills. A lot. + Nice-looking, clean bungalows with AC + Infinity pool + Cheap food and drink at the restaurant + Scooter rental (cheap as well) + Good breakfast - Don't go during the rainy season (you'd be bored to death) - The staff's English skills are appalling
Pleasant facility in a beautiful setting”
Despite ongoing renovations/repairs (replacing trees and painting to the reception area) , our time at the retreat/hotel was pleasant. The facility is located in a remote section of the island and the beach is not conducive to swimming. This was not a problem however as we rented a motor bike from the retreat. The owner and staff were responsive to our questions and concerns.
Beautifully situated with the perfect touch of zen”
They were dilligent in taking care of us. It was the rainy season so we had the place to ourselves most of the time but it was a wonderfully restful location. I would love to come back on my honeymoon someday. The only complant came with what was available on the menu. As it was low season they did not have some dishes that we would have liked to try. But the food we did have was wonderful especially the glass noodle seafood sald! The main hostess was extremely cordial, he went out of his way to see if we could use the Jacuzzi in another room and we didn't need to pay extra. The room was kept clean and stocked every day. So over all we had a brilliant experience and would recommend this location.
