Stayed here quite a number of times now, love it there. You have to realise its isolated so if you love peace and quiet its perfect. We hire a motorbike to get round the island. Superb room, superb infinity pool and its just a super location.
Easy going ”
We enjoyed our stay here it was clean and fresh the bed’s are very comfortable . the pool was fantastic good food at night and great breakfast . The owner is very helpful and genuine . I would like to suggest to fill up the minibars with drinks to purchase...
Traditional Thai Hospitality at its Best . A very nicely designed property with special attention to landscaping . The room sizes are apt with addition open to sky shower . Most of the rooms are designed and located in manner to have sea view from all the rooms . The infinity pool is something to be mentioned specially for the views . Located on silent part of island with peace and tranquility to be cherished . Beach in front of the property is full of rocks not suitable for swimming specially for children. But that’s hardly of any concern since most of the better beaches on other part of islands are almost at 5 to 20 minute drive on motorcycle/ scotty .
Beautiful place to relax in front of the sea with a staff taking care of your needs !!”
Great rooms with two showers (inside /outside - should try outside :-). Pool is beautiful next to the sea and you can play with kids. Food is very good and your host gives you any kind of support to make your stay as perfect as possible Only drawback, which is also a + : you’re far from the beaches and piers said you need to rent a bike or take taxi (ab. 200Bh per ride). But no neighbors also means you’re in a preserved area and really feel on your own and in this small and peaceful resort
This place is really quit. The bungalows were very modern and clean. Nice view on the beach. Beach is more to look than to swim cause of rocks, But the pool is amazing. The food was the best in 2 weeks Thailand. The manager was very kind. We hope to come back. Loved the island and This place
gorgeous hotel to really relax it had good wifi hotel rooms where large and well laid out in well kept grounds beach was ok but made up for with a very beautiful infinity pool ideal location for a very relaxed quiet break
Luxury at its best”
I booked this luxury resort as a birthday present for my girl-friend and stayed there for 2 days only. Probably the best, luxury and comfortable accomodation on Koh Mak. I would coma again and enjoy the spacious room, the pool wir ocean view and the excellent restaurant.
Great Place for my Holiday”
I choose this hotel due to its swimming pool and very appreciate. The swimming pool by the sea is large, beautiful and well maintained. The room (beach front) is large, well designed and great view of the sea. I can see milky way from the room terrace. Foods is delicious, staff is friendly and helpful. Only thing to be concerned is that the beach is rocky not good to swim but Koh Mak is very small, you can rent a cheap motorbike to any beautiful beach within 10 - 30 min.
Pleasant facility in a beautiful setting”
Despite ongoing renovations/repairs (replacing trees and painting to the reception area) , our time at the retreat/hotel was pleasant. The facility is located in a remote section of the island and the beach is not conducive to swimming. This was not a problem however as we rented a motor bike from the retreat. The owner and staff were responsive to our questions and concerns.
Nice place but bit isolated”
Nice place with well maintained bungalows in well kept garden. Nice pool also but the beach is a bit rocky. There is nothing around the resort but transport can be arranged or the hotel has scooters for rent. Nice place if you are looking for a spot to recharge the batteries.
This really is a super resort, hard to criticise so I wont try. Location is a little isolated but taxi is only 50 Baht per person or can hire small motorbike to trave round this small island. Plub Pla is SUPERB.
Small Romantic Resort with infinite pool”
It is such a hide-away resort with relaxing atmosphere.Bedroom is comfortable and food is yummy with a reasonable price. It is perfect for a couple who want a true peaceful. There is nothing around only sea...sand...sun and peace of mind. It is perfect for me and my family. One caution...there is a small insect
very peaceful and real relaxing”
warm welcome from team and great landscape to get away from Bangkok and people who love beach, sand and sea. worth it
“Jedd”- manager made our stay very enjoyable, very friendly and helpful. Away from the busy parts of island. Comfy rooms with beautiful view.
Luxury accommodations with very helpful staff ”
The photos don’t do this place justice! Beautiful accommodations and extremely well maintained. Only “con” is that it’s away from the “main” area of the island making a taxi or moped a must. Staff was amazing and very helpful!
Nice Resort with a Friendly Staff”
Plub Pla Koh is a very nice resort hotel, although it is slightly far from the main part of the island. The room was nice and comfortable. The environment is quiet and relaxing. The food was good and staff very friendly.
Disappointment and frustration ”
Not value for money at all! We booked this place for Christmas and tried to contact them prior to our stay to ask for some minor things and didn’t receive any reply (we’ve contacted them through Agoda and through their general email more than 5 times with 1 month in advance). We had to go there personally 1 day before our stay to ask for these minor things and we weren’t able to communicate with them..... the manager does not speak English.... there are no facilities in this hotel apart from a nice pool and nice rooms. But not worth the price per night at all.. there are better places in the island of Koh Mak to stay at then this one (we went to see a couple close by and they were by far much better in every aspect) we were very disappointed and would rather spend our money somewhere else...
Lovely resort in quiet location away from the crowds”
Excellent resort in a quiet location. You can hire a scooter from reception to head into the main shopping and dining areas. Villas were lovely and comfortable however they needed some maintenance . We had an ocean facing spa bath which was great in the morning but it leaked heavily so by the time we got back to the room after a day out was completely empty. I couldn't be bothered refilling it. The only negative experience we had was on our arrival when we had to arrange our own transfer from the ferry to the hotel and then wait two hours or so to check in. We ended up eating lunch at the resort before we could go to own room. Breakfast was limited but excellent.
A Ferrari without an engine”
Great accomodation and surroundings and besides the fact that our hottub was without bubbles, nothing to complain about really. But even that's probably something that a good manager would see before his or her guests.. Lack of English understanding probably plays a big role but in our opinion no excuse for not taking care of your guests during their stay, after all it's not cheap. In example, the entire island was without power until half past 6 in the evening. Nothing they can do about obviously but the very least you can do is inform your guests and keep them updated.. Food wasn't special, nor was breakfast.
Our Second Trip, and More To Come”
Plub Pla is an oasis. It's not for people who need access to lots of activities. Rather, the opposite. If you want to get away, spend time with a loved one, read and relax, swim, and eat well, this is a fantastic getaway.
