Relaxing, special place to stay.”
POKOLBIN village is the best place we’ve stayed at. The staff were amazing, the cottage was nice and clean and cozy. Kangaroos were hanging around all afternoon and the morning view was splendid. It’s close to every winery, hunter valley gardens and horse riding which we loved. My husband and I had the best time. We will definitely be going back.

Beautiful pillows, comfy queen bed, nice surrounds, clean, quiet, extremely helpful young lady at reception, loved the shops and bakery here plus delicious steaks at Blaxlands lovely classy boutique hotel next door. Great location close to all the wineries. We had a really nice weekend. Thank you!

Clean room and very spacious. We had extra blankets and extra towels and toiletries at arrival. We got a room that was right across the pool and we had a lovely time. Reception was also very helpful with check in, extending our checkout time and getting us a taxi

Great value for money, good location in the centre of pokolbin. Is situated behind a general store, chocolate shop and cheese shop. Booked at last minute and everything went smoothly. Only issue is the lighting, it's very dull. But apart from that every thing was above expected.

Me and my partner stayed at Pokolbin village for 2 nights and it was just perfect for us. It was close to everything and waking up to hear the birds and seeing the many fauna surrounding us was so refreshing.

Great little gem! ”
Great place, friendly staff, clean, tidy and bigger then it appears from the outside. Cabins are away from others( unless I’m 1 bed villas obviously) which was lovely. The only downside is your on land, so far from suitable for lowered cars when the weather has been wet and roads are washed away and full of holes.

Great central location”
Pros- Central for most main vineyards in Pokolbin and the surrounding area. Walking distance to Hunter Valley Gardens and several vineyards and tourist spots. Right behind the little shopping village for any last minute needs or feeds. Friendly and helpful staff. Swimming pool and tennis court. Cons- no breakfast but local cafes close by.

Our room presented well. Leafy outlook, bed and pillows comfortable, bathroom tidy. On arrival found reception closed at 5pm (on a Tuesday) with no prior mention of this even though we stated 6pm arrival. Room was easy to find thanks to the instruction map on door however the key location was emailed to us. We are seniors and do not have email access on phone. We would stay here again. You are able to walk to a couple of cellar doors and a few restaurants and pub not far away.

Family friendly ”
We stayed in the Homestead, located at the back of the property. It was set away from the other accommodation options. This meant that the kids could play without upsetting guests, however it was too far for my 2yo to walk down to the pool. The homestead was spacious, with two bathrooms and good cooking facilities, as well as a Varandah with a beautiful outlook. Some aspects of the house were damaged, or tired, but still acceptable. Staff were friendly and helpful with local attractions that were kid-friendly. Overall we loved our stay, and would happily visit again.

Pokolbin Village – 2188 Broke Road, Pokolbin Australia”
I have chosen Pokolbin Village for me and my family to stay at in The Hunter Valley Wine Country (only two hours from Sydney) during the first week of January 2017, that is a ‘four star’ rating and I can understand why they have an amazing rating. The place is nicely displayed with a range of specialty shops and restaurant for your convenience with lots of parking spaces available. There are easy-to-find signs especially when you’re trying to locate ‘Reception’ so you can check-in, get your keys, unload your gear and start your holiday as-soon-as-possible. Once we entered the reception area, we were greeted by a friendly staff straight away that made us feel welcomed. The receptionist asked where I was parked and then directed me with easy instructions how to get to the our ‘self-contained’ villa accommodation and we noticed that on the key-ring to our villa, there were adverts on it stating that you can receive discounts for participating on-site shops and some outlets when shown. I drove the short distance to our room without a problem and found nearby parking – oh… by-the-way, the specialty shops are not too far from the room we were staying at, just a short stroll. . When we entered our room, the air-conditioner was already on that gave us an instant relief from the heat we were experiencing – 39 degrees Celsius (102.2 Farenheit). The facilities were conveniently located near the rooms - swimming pool, BBQ facilities, tennis court and boules court and on top of that, free wifi. We made great use of the swimming pool and BBQ facilities with nearby table and seats so you can enjoy your meal outdoors with the natural, non-pollutant country air. Pokolbin Village is only minutes away from all major attractions and event locations. It is the ideal place for couples, families or groups who are looking for a place with natural charms and beauty for a ‘time-out’ of your everyday hustle and bustle lifestyle.

Very good but not recommended for Winter stay”
It is located at the heart of hunter valley and has a small vineyard within the hotel itself. The hotel is so much nicer than the pictures shown on website. We stayed for only 1N, had a nice clean & spacious room which is really comfortable. Unfortunately, the heater was faulty and was blowing cold air when it was already -5 degrees in Winter at Hunter Valley! We called up the emergency hotline and got the technician to check to only find out that even if the "heater" was in good condition, it was meant to just reduce the cold air in the room, not meant to heat up the room -- unlike traditional heaters. So... we were freezing at -5 thru out the night. The next stay, we fed back to the hotel staff and we were happy that they offered a 50% refund (although we didn't ask for it!) to compensate us. Staff were also really helpful in recommending us where to go, what to eat. For meat lovers, you may want to check out Harrigans Irish Pub for their beef ribs -- they are fabulous & short driving distance from Pokolbin :)
