Clean, comfortable, friendly and quiet”

Poolside Villa was perfect for me! It was easy to walk here from the Royal Palace (even with my big backpack) and I received a lovely warm, informative welcome. The dorm was spacious and cool with an en-suite loo/ shower. Water refills are cheap. I didn’t eat but lots of people were and there was a friendly atmosphere. The pool is small but sparkling clean and I felt confident to leave my bag there after checkout while I was out and about.

Enjoyable Pool and Bar Setting”

Poolside Villa is a very comfortable and relaxing hostel. The highlight is the open bar and restaurant setting next to a nice salt-water pool. The food and drinks are very good. I stayed in a dorm room which was somewhat cramped and dark with a stale smell in the air. The beds, however, were very comfortable and the air conditioner worked great. The staff was awesome, always there to help in any way needed.

Nice place in Phnom Penh”

Pros: nice place, bed, bathroom, pool, bar, clean enough. Cons: none Like many reviews before: money is the first item. They come to claim the money before anything what gives a littlebit the feeling that they try to squeeze out as much money as possible. Not a problem for me. Everything that you need or want is possible here. Just ask the staff and they will organise it but again for a small fee. We took a late checkout and had to pay a few dollars which was totally worth it.

An oasis tucked away in a cool neighborhood of Phnom Penh”

Great little spot in a cool neighbourhood. The pool and chill out area is awesome, as is the food at the restaurant. Staff are friendly and the room was good for the price. Air con worked well and water pressure was good, the only negative for us was a slight smell coming from the drain in the bathroom.

Great private rooms”

We’ve stayed here twice now. Once in a private room and also in a dorm. Private room was LOVELY! Good air con, clean rooms, good shower. The dorm however was terrible!! No air con remote so it’s boiling hot. Beds are so close together. Toilet dirty and room very smelly. The hotel itself is great, including the pool and the food is really nice. Just don’t stay in the dorms!!

LOVELY HOSTEL”

I am currently traveling in South East Asia, I have done a couple of hostels but this one is one of the best. Perfect staff who provide good advices, I could rate them 6*. nice pool, really worth the price for the dorms.

Everything great but room just OK”

Plus: Great location with a spacious property and a pool. I really appreciated that there was always enough room to sit outside. It's close to my favourite restaurant on St. 63 (Happy Dragon Farm) and there's a funky neighborhpoud in a maze set around a temple nearby. Minus: 8 beds in a small space, not enough oxygen in there. I'm not sure I want to be in that room again for three nights.

It feels more like a hostel than a villa”

Stayed 1 night in a single room at a very good price. A small pool next to the lobby may be a plus for some people. Of course it cannot be perfect at such a low price : No shampoo but only soap in the bathroom. Mosquitoes at night were very annoying.

Disappointing stay”

A frustrating/disappointing stay. We had been volunteering on an ecobuild for the last 3 months and looking forward to some rest as our energy was drained. We arrived to check in at 10pm after our flight was delayed and were told that only cash was accepted, and passports would be held until it was paid - that's a fair policy except passports are held in an unsecured drawer so we had to go back out to an atm rather than take the risk. At least store passports in a safe if you're going to operate this policy. The staff could've been more accommodating as we couldn't even put our bags in the room whilst at the atm. The shower was good but bathroom could've been cleaner, we had to pull a thick wad of hair out the plughole as the shower wasn't draining at all. Wifi barely worked in the room, and was a blackhole for our 4G network too. Staff said we couldn't change rooms as hostel was full (fair enough) but didn't investigate the problem either. Wifi was not great in the bar as well so we ended up using 4G data to do what we needed. An unexpected early morning wake up call service courtesy of construction starting at 7am every morning. I understand that they can't control that but the 'do not disturb' sign was also ignored as a staff member banged on the door at 9am to make sure we were checking out by 12pm. Our tuk tuk driver Tony was great though and thoroughly recommended. Hopefully we were just unlucky with our room as this place gets good reviews - but I don't think we'll be returning customers.

Great and friendly place”

Location is great, private rooms are clean, nice pool and friendly staff. We ended up extending our stay several times as we liked this place so much! Relaxed and friendly vibe in the restaurant / pool area. For the location and facilities this place is a steal.

Exceptional”

Amazing place. Best area. Spotless. Great help with laundry, bookings, busses. Cheaper than found online. Booked to stay again after Siem Reap. Some loud party people at night stumbling into their rooms unfortunately.

Highly recommended, great room, if a little small, nowhere to put stuff, but really comfortable bed! Spotlessly clean, fantastic and helpful staff, great location, will definitely return!

Location and facilities are great and helpful staff”

The location is good and you're close to the main attractions. There's a pool, bar, breakfast etc. It looks like a great place to meet people and make new friends as the social space is really big! Actually the staff were helpful and friendly so i have no criticisms. The only thing i'd reccommend would be to provide some soap or shower gel in the toilets. Nothing too major though!

Exceptional”

Good Hostel, nice staff. A littlebit expensive in my opinion, I would reaally recommend to eat outside. Otherwise perfect. You can rent a scooter to go to the killingfields and stuff for 7$ if you don't necessarily want a group tour;) night market and the living arts show are also nice to see.

Simple, easy & convenient”

The receptionist was helpful throughout the process. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Area is well secured and there's convenient store nearby as well. Love the design and concept of the home, I had a lovely stay though it was just a few hours. Would love to visit again.

misleading and disappointing”

It is always disappointing when you arrive at a hotel and immediately it is apparent that money is the most important goal of the establishment. Customers are not really important (except for the money) The location is great and it was nice to jump in the pool to cool off. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
