Poplars Inn Mittagong is set on a spacious 3-acre land, a 10-minute drive from Bradman Museum. It features ground floor units with a private parking space, french doors and views of a large English garden. Free Wi-Fi access is provided. The air-conditioned rooms have a kitchenette with a microwave, tea/coffee making facilities and a toaster. Each also comes with a flat-screen TV and an en suite bathroom with shower. Poplars Inn Mittagong located in the centre of Mittagong, 2 km from Highlands Golf Club and within 15 minutes’ drive from various wineries. Central Sydney is an hour’s drive away.

The only problem we had was trying to find the entrance at night when coming for Mittagong (ie travelling north). It was raining an there was no lighting to light the driveway.

Middle of the pack”
The Poplars is fine but not special. There are similar places in the area. Staff are friendly, and rooms pretty clean. Management should consider putting in warmer lighting and more lighting. Shower head in unit 10 needs attention as nozzles are missing and reduce water pressure. Motel should install washer and dryer units for guest use. Kitchenettes are good.

reasonably priced no fuss motel outskirt of Mittagong”
Though it's on the main highway, need to be careful to not miss the entrance. Place is a bit aged, no shop/restaurant around it, & 10 minutes drive to "town" part of Mittagong. Otherwise, good place to stay for a couple nights, fairly clean, new-ish bathroom, and car spot right outside the room. When we came, we just pick up the keys outside the office - no staff assisting us - maybe due to COVID, but no drama.

Comfortable room but no reception”
This is a do it yourself motel without anyone in reception. The rooms are fresh and outlook good but there was no bath mat and no hand towel. Crockery and cutlery were appreciated but were not clean enough.

Poplars Inn is really easy to book & check-in with friendly staff issuing keys quickly & supplying tea/coffee, etc without delay. Check-out was simply leaving the key in the room & closing the door...couldn't be faster.

Clean and spacious room”
I was staying here for one night on my transit from Canberra to Sydney. I booked through Agoda and driving very late to this property and to my surprise I didn't had any problems. Everything was smooth and perfect. Room was big enough for 3 people, there was a queen size bed and an single bed. There was plenty of room for luggage's and even a cupboard. The room had a TV with local channels. The room was fitted with A/C (which worked well) and Heater. The room is also equipped with a small kitchen at the entrance which had Microwave, Toaster, plates, bowls and cutleries. It also had a dishwasher (which we didn't use). The bathroom was clean and fresh. It was a good sized room and all the toiletries were provided. They also had Towels which were fresh and clean. The hotel serves continental breakfast for $8 which we didn't buy. There are good cafe's at the driving distance.The staffs are really helpful and kind. The only downside I would say is they have strict checkout of 10AM.

Stopover on the way to Sydney”
Very comfortable, only downside is that it's on the highway so there's some highway noise. Although that doesn't normally worry me, but the night I stayed there was major roadwork right out the front all night and all through the morning. Very noisy, but absolutely no fault of the motel, & nothing they could do about it. But I would definitely stay again when I have to do short stints to Sydney, because I'd far rather stay there and relax on the verandah, than stay in Sydney - and as it's only an hour and a bit to Sydney, it's worth it. Regarding the food/dining rating, it was irrelevant because I didn't dine there, but I had to select something because it's a mandatory field.

Reasonable place to stay in a handy location if your passing by on the hwy”
friendly receptionist, clean room, good size, only problem waa the TV didn't have the standard channel that i waa hoping for so we could watch our favourite show but was most disappointed when we were charged an extra $15 because i used the extra single bed as i had been feeling sick so wanted my wife to have more space. We booked for a king size but got a queen & single so we assumed we could use the full room & beds but got charged for the extra. Pretty annoying when the room already cost over $100 to then get charged extra & we didn't even get to watch the TV channel we wanted. As far as the room waa presented, it was pretty nice for a motel we just got unlucky with our situation.

Last Minute Choice”
Our stay was a spur of the moment last minute find. IT was good value. The only issue we had was that it had dust on bed side tables and light stands and the desk top also. Otherwise fixtures and fittings were fine. We did not use any food options so cannot comment. I would classify this as a standard "Motel" accommodation 3.5 stars

No night sign boards outside hotel entrance. .Hotel locate mid of freeway. One way drive direction. No two ways drive in. Poor sign board for first time guest.

Basic Motel”
The location is out of town, but readily accessible off the highway. Parking is convenient as it is right at the door. The fact that it was at ground level made settling in very easy. The room was basic with bare essentials and feel it was expensive for what was offered.
