A hotel of good location and interesting theme.”
checked in to porcelain for a staycation with my loved one. not sure if superior queen was on par as the guestroom (white interior) but the white finishing was somewhat nice and made the rather small room look spacious, so no complaints on our side. the receptionists were also very pleasant. was the first time being in a hotel room without windows though. while it may be disturbing to some, i thought that it was good for people looking to relax since the only way to tell the time was via your watch/phone. contrary to reviews commenting on the small bathrooms, mine (room 111) was rather spacious, with the shower and toilet divided by frosted glass. the 'cable channels' are very limited, though that doesn't bother me. i especially like the mirror that is framed by porcelain's design. i also liked how space-saving the furniture was and basic equipment such as tea, coffee, water boiler, hair dryer and toiletries were provided. hotel service was also very good. asked for a universal adaptor and it was delivered in minutes. the location of porcelain is definitely good, with it surrounded by many unique eateries and attractions of chinatown, and being pretty close to the mrt and bus stops. it is also a few streets away from the famous ann siang hill and club street whereby you can chill with a couple of drinks. people's park complex located nearby offers many authentic local dishes. chinatown never felt more special to me until i walked the streets till late and had a lovely time in porcelain. i would come back again.
Awesome brand new hotel !!”
By honesty, according to many friend's experience I decided to choose Hotel81, Chinatown first. But as per I checked I wanna try some new choice that's why I tried Porcelain. Porcelain is so close to MRT Chinatown station and Chinatown walking street. It's so convenience for find various delicious foods and also supermarket(which you can buy water very cheap, 0.7 SGD for 1.5litres) you also can find some souvenir or gifts there. Porcelain located on Mosque street, the building is quite big, along the street and not deep at all. but when you enter the street you will got attracted by the blue paint on the wall of hotel building. Hotel and rooms are decorated in modern, room size may not too big but make sense for compare with cost and location in Singapore. All staff served with service mind, their devotion are outstanding. My reserved room is Superior Twin. Room, space, restroom and decoration are all suitable. I really have no idea how to describe but as far as I can say is flawless, I have no idea to complain anything at all.
Marvelous Service”
Last March was my 3rd stay with Porcelain Hotel. I always stay at this hotel when I go to Singapore, because it's only 7 minutes walking to chinatown foodstreet and 5 minutes to MRT, I think it's reasonable price. But what makes this hotel special is the service. Last time I left my coat, jacket, and sweater (I just came back from Japan that's why I brought such things) and they respond very quickly by email. And they keep it for me until it returned to me. Thank You Porcelain Hotel One of your best choice to stay in Singapore.
Lovely Hotel”
It was our second staycation and Porcelain Hotel. The first time we stayed, the hotel person upgraded our room to the Premier one.It was really nice of her. It was totaly lovely! The room was big, cozy and it even has a jacuzzi! We stayed for a night but extended the hours till 5pm instead of checking out at 12pm. The second time, i booked the Standard room but the room which was given to us was on the 1st level. At first i was quite hesitant because it is on the first level but then once i entered the room,i almost forgot that it was on the first level. That's because i love the coziness feeling in that room. The bed was very comfy and the toilet was big too. Overall, i had a very comfortable stay at the hotel. I like the area too as we can find quite a lot of food there and it's pretty convenient. As I'm pretty quite familiar with the area, it can be a walking distance to places like Raffles Place and there are many bus service available too. Best is it is near the Chinatown Mrt Station. Good food good and good people around. Oh we had delicious Durian Pancake too! Jumbo size for $2.50.They have it for a regular size too but best to have it Jumbo. Hot pancake which they do for you on the spot filled with cold durian fillings! The taste is great! So many food! Overall, the hotel is just perfect stay for us both. Would definitely come back for more staycations. Thank You Porcelain Hotel for your awesome hotel and services.
Closely styled to a pod hotel but cheaper”
My partner and I were on a relatively small to medium budget when it came to accommodation. We weren't going to be staying long and Singapore and didn't want to splurge when we didn't need to. Upon searching for budget accommodation like pod hotels, Porcelain came up. The idea of smaller rooms for a lower price is very appealing. However, I can see why people would find the rooms cramped if you were any bigger in size than me (62kg, 152cm tall). The bed happened to be /just/ right for my size. Having shared one carry-on bag with my partner, it was difficult manoeuvring around the suitcase due to the limited space. Again, I can see why this would be troublesome for others however we really only needed a room to sleep in so this wasn't too big an inconvenience (disregarding the possible safety issues). Otherwise, the room was cleaned often and was comfortable. Due to the size of the room it cooled very quickly with the AC on! Reception downstairs were great. We never had to worry about having access to the hotel. Very efficient in checking in/out and scheduling taxi pick up for when we left. In terms of location, I'm glad that it turned out to be absolutely perfect. We were keen on staying beard Orchard Rd but Chinatown is amazing. The hotel is located on Mosque St on Chinatown (the town in and of itself is great to check out). The restaurants are bustling late into the night in case you get hungry. Also, Chinatown station is a short walk away through the market. Overall, if you're looking at spending most of your time out during the day and are happy to stay in a reasonable room just to get rest, AC and sleep in, Porcelain is great.
Love the convenience and great value for money”
The stay at Porcelain Hotel was very pleasant. The rooms are nicely appointed and centered around the theme of the hotel name. The rooms are cozy and best suited for short stay and light travelers. The bed are very comfortable and there was limited street noise from Mosque Street. The staff are very efficient and there were no questions asked when I asked to be moved from my first room due to the fact that it was next to the courtyard and I could hear the conversation of people there. The location is the best part of this hotel. It is 50m from Chinatown station which is very central and walking distance to Clarke Quay. The Chinatown night market, restaurants, and bars close late which is very convenient. Great value for money!
well decorated rooms”
the hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but you can immediately see the design of the porcelain at the lobby. this same designed is transferred to the rooms with the iconic porcelain used as the main light in the rooms. wifi is free with good connectivity and basic amenities are provided which would make your stay very convenient. there are many shophouses in the vicinity selling local cuisine and souvenirs and would be an ideal place if you want to do some last minutes shopping. there are also various temples and mosque in the vicinity considered to be iconic landmarks by the singapore tourism board. overall it was a very pleasant stay.
As always a lovely place to stay”
It was my second time at the Porcelain hotel. I am very happy with my choice, in the heart of the lively and colourful district of Chinatown. Obviously the rooms are very small, but they include all the amenities and facilities you require for a shorter stay. And after all one does not visit Singapore nor Chinatown there to stay in the room. Really looking forward to my next trip.
Fantastic location and attentive staff”
I had a great 3 night stay with the Porcelain hotel and found the hotel a great place to spend a few days. Staff were lovely and friendly and the rooms themselves were great for the size they were. Location is great for chinatown and to get to the city. Thought it might be noisy being on the street side but wasn't woken once during the night. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to any of my friends who are travelling to Singapore.
Wonderful Stay!”
Porcelain hotel meets all the criteria for a light traveller like myself. Is affordable and the staffs were friendly and helpful. The room is small and cozy with the necessities I needed for my stay. The hotel is well situated in the core of Chinatown. With various cuisine available just foot steps away (Korean, Japanese, Indian, halal and a lot more) along maxwell road, you can find really authentic mouth watering Korean cuisine which were one of the reason that made my stay a fruitful one because I never ran out of food to try. One of the famous hawker food centre in Singapore is the maxwell hawker centre which is located just 5mins walk from porcelain hotel. Approximately 3mins walk can get you to the nearest mrt station (Chinatown station). From Chinatown station to the bustling cities in Singapore like orchard and somerset just took me conveniently 15mins. Overall I had a wonderful experience!
Deliciously different decor”
What do you do with a fantastically-located historic building in Singapore's Chinatown that you want to turn into an affordable boutique hotel? You make the rooms small, even by Singapore standards, and then paint them dark blue and black (with similarly coloured tiles, making the rooms and hallways look like giant bathrooms). It shouldn't work, but it does. The room is only the length of the queen bed, so for one person to get out, they have to clamber over the other. The only furniture, other than the bed, is a single pouffe strategically placed under the shelf with the tea and coffee making, a location which also serves as a great spot for the suitcases - no, there is no hanging space. There is a small fridge, however, as well as a decent shower with a powerful rainmaker rose, and a suitable toilet and vanity. Natural light is a bit limited, but you never really notice it that much - and there is a wonderful light above the bed with a beautiful oriental pattern. We were in room 202 (on the first floor above ground), which is at the end of a private corridor, also with a door to a shared courtyard - a perfect place for that early morning cup of tea. Being at the western end of Mosque St, it's just around the corner from the Chinatown action in Pagoda St, and the main entrance to Chinatown MRT train station, at the bridge over to OG and CK department stores. There's some good restaurants just across Mosque St, too. The only thing we struggled with is breakfasts - on the weekend mornings we were there, only McDonalds seemed to be open for a 7 or 8am breakfast - although 7-11 do sell hot steamed buns you can take back to the courtyard and eat with a cup of tea. A brilliant location for the money. The Porcelain fit-out is an excellent job, that makes you feel that the narrow dark halls, small rooms, and tiny lift (there is only one) were done for reasons far more positive than trying to cram as many rooms as they could in the small space they had.
Clean and in an fun neighbourhood”
The Porcelain Hotel is a small boutique hotel located in the exotic Chinatown of Singapore. The rooms are very small, almost claustrophobic (no windows) but clean and the beds are comfortable. The room size did not bother us, we spent our time in town and were in the room only for sleeping which was perfect since it was quiet and clean with good air conditioning.
Great modern hotel - value for money”
i transited in singapore and spent a couple of hours in the hotel. overall, i like the hotel a lot and think it's value for your money. the room is not spacious but enough for 1 person. it's clean with a modern look. and staff is really friendly. porcelain locates in chinatown center - 5 mins walking to mrt so it's convenient to go around singapore. i would come back to this hotel next time i transit via singapore
pleasant hotel w/good location and friendly staff”
We transited via Singapore and stayed there only for one night. Actually we needed to have comfortable place for staying to get some relax for a night. Porcelain hotel was a good choice for us. In general we enjoyed this hotel. The rooms are no so big but space is enough. Staff is very hospitable and try to help if any requests. We got free upgrade up to Executive room, which is more bigger than superior/deluxe room but most of them located in 5th floor and some rooms are without windows there. Hotel located in China town disctrict about 100meters from MTR station "China Town". Near hotel you can find many restorants with chinese and indian food and McDonalds as well(about 200meters walking). There are big market in China town there you can buy many things like gifts and souvenirs with Singapore symbols to keep in memory or as gifts for friends or colleagues.
Good location - typically small Singaporean rooms”
I like this hotel because of its decore which is cool and dark...just the thing after a long busy day travelling. Rooms are quite small but standard for Singapore. This is my second time to the hotel. One of rooms I stayed in was just acorridor with a bed at the end, but it has all the necessities in a cool porcelain motif. The staff are excellent, friendly and knowledgable. The location is in the heart of Chinatown which hosts markets and many many eateries to suit all budgets. Very handy to the MRT as well. Will be coming back.
Good hotel in great location”
It was really hard to find accommodation in Singapore that would be situated in great location, would be clean, would have at least average equipment, a window (almost impossible!), own social facilities, A/C and reasonable pricing. Between all of the options I searched, the Porcelain hotel was a real winner and we were happy with our stay, especially because of the location. Don ´t expect much though, everything is really simple and small. In European measures this would be low cost hotel. But thanks to all of these parametres it is still the best option in Singapore.
Comfy room, very good location”
We were staying at Porcelain Hotel for many times. Even if the room space is small, but the location is good, near to Chinatown MRT Station. It's a good choice for couple traveller, but i dont think will be good for family or couple with kids because the room is small. Somehow i enjoy my stay there and will be back to stay there if i go to Singapore.
Cozy, Comfortable & Great Stay”
it was a great stay. when we just arrived at the hotel, the hotel feature really catch our eyes. the hotel look very interesting form inside out. it was very clean and the front desk people are very helpful. the room is very cozy. although the room is very small, no space to walk and you need to keep your luggage under the bed but we are satisfied. the room service is very good, every time we come back after shopping/sight seeing at night the room already been tidied up. besides it was very near to chinatown mrt, so really easy for us to move around to the city. some of the taxi driver did not really know where is this hotel situated but we just have to mention mosque street or near to chinatown mrt. before we leave singapore to catch our flight, we can leave our luggage at the front counter and still go for last minute shopping. we also book the taxi to airport from the hotel via the front desk. it was a great stay and i am looking forward for my next trip to singapore and stay at porcelain hotel again. might want to try a different/larger room.
Affordable Gem”
I had a great stay at the Porcelain Hotel because it was conveniently located near both the MRT and a mall. Food establishments likewise bounded just outside the hotel. My room (a deluxe) was quite small, but it was convenient for my needs as a solo traveler in Singapore for a conference. The decor for my room was also very nice - all white and very clean-looking. The free & speedy wifi-connection in my room was also a plus factor, not to mention the mini-refrigerator, hair-dryer, mini-safe & a water kettle (boiler). Good place to stay!
4-day stay in Porcelain Hotel”
i came to singapore for exams. the main reason i opted to stay in porcelain hotel is it strategic location - 3 minute walk from china town mrt. it can be easily accessible from changi airport by mrt. the hotel interior design is exotic and modern. the staffs over the reception counter are friendly. i stay in a superior queen room with windows. the room is clean but fairly small. it could be more spacious, but the 'unique room design' has taken up some spaces. there is no cupboard in the room. only four hangers are provided. air-conditioner and wireless internet are working fine.
