Best place to stay in Port Campbell ”
I have stayed at the Port Campbell Hostel on 3 separate occasions in the last 3 weeks. If you are travelling to Port Campbell you need to stay here. Owner is really lovely and has a cute brown lab that loves a pat. Communal kitchen is clean and has everything you need. Showers and bathrooms are right across the hall from the bedrooms. To top it all off, they brew their own beer and have $10 dollar pizza. It is now my go to place in Port Campbell
Excellent location, spacious rooms, solid hostel. ”
The Port Campbell hostel is a fantastic place to stay as a scrimping solo traveller or group. Spacious dorms, lots of room in the kitchen, nice common area. The bar/brewery in the hostel adds character. Biggest downside is that there is no reliable WiFi upstairs in the rooms. This is only a minor detractor, IMO. Otherwise the hostel is a very short walk to the main street and waterfront. Would stay again.
Port Campbell Hostel is much more better than our expected. Staff is very friendly, nice & helpful. The environment is great with unique decoration at the public area. Room is clean, tidy, comfort. Kitchen is equipped with necessary utensils.
Nice hostel, nice bar”
Stayed here for one night while driving the Great Ocean Road. Good value, nice rooms, just around the corner from the main street in Port Campbell. Nice bar with good beer, lots of common seating areas.
Hello, thank you so much for amazing review and we wish you the best for the rest of your travels.
Friendly and relaxing”
Gosh. Where do I start? I'm a veteran backpacker, and Port Campbell's Hostel reminds me of four favourite stays. These being Hostelling Internationals in New York City, Boston, Chicago and the YHA London Central. I booked a private double but was generously upgraded to a six bed dorm, so that I could spread out by myself. The bathrooms are spotless, and the downstairs are is smart and spacious, adding to the clean and modern vibe. As my connecting bus to Warnambool wasn't leaving until the afternoon after checking out, the proprietor said it was fine for me to keep my bags in storage. That way, I squeezed in some final sight-seeing. Special mention to the owner's pet dog, who is always ready for pats and attention. As well as a chirpy parakeet at reception.
Overpriced and noisy young crowd at night”
There are limited hotel/hostel/motel at port campbell, it is definitely overpriced with shared bathroom, no breakfast included and no wifi at room. We stay at the corner unit and a group of young folks keep talking and laughing loud at the ground floor during night time which is very annoying.
Lovely stay in Port Campbell”
Stayed one night with my friend while travelling The Great Ocean Road, the staff were attentive and friendly and the place is kept quite clean. Definitely recommend trying the pizzas and the beers at the micro-brewery are amazing. Make sure to check out the Timboon Whisky on the shelf if you get the chance. It’s worth every cent!
Thank you vey much JArrod for your candid review! We very much apreciated! Kind regards Jiri PC Hostel
Hype hostel in Great Ocean Road”
Great hostel with bar for youngsters, recommended hostel when having road trip in Great Ocean Road
Good stopover for a closer look of the Twe”
Great location within short distance to the beach and restaurants in town. Room without ensuite facilities but to use the common bathrooms and toilets right outside. Fortunately these share facilities look new or well maintained so not a bad experience afterall staying in a backpacker hostel. You need to go downstairs to the kitchen for hot drinking water supply. The room rate was rather steep and expensive just for overnight.
Good In Transit Stopover”
The hostel is new, clean and well laid out for the type of accommodation it offers. The staff were helpful and friendly. The facilities were very good with a large kitchen and dining area. Being in a brewery it offers additional features of an on site brew and reasonable pizzas for dinner. Certainly did me for an in transit overnight stop.
The best hostel I've been so far!!!”
The cleanest and most comfortable hostel I've eber been!!! Jerry and his Team are so friendly and such great hosts.
Good experience ”
Can improve the cleanliness by packing up the rubbish regularly. Because sometimes tissues are all around the floor near the rubbish bin. It's good to have heater inside my double private room to keep us warm. Very convenient as the location is strategic. Many restaurant surrounding the hostel. Can improve the quality cooking utensils and prepare cooking oil and pepper for guest to use.
Ample of parking space. Hostel seemed kinda quiet when we stayed for 1 night in the winter- only saw another pair in the common area. Showers and toilets are clean though the timers for the lights went off halfway while we were showering. There's no free wifi on the second floors for the rooms, which could be improved. Otherwise the overall stay is very pleasant.
Clean and well organized”
This is so far the cleanest hostel i have ever stayed in australia. And the kitchen is extremely clean and well organized. They offer affordable pizza for dinner , 9" pizza for only $10.
Hello, thank you kindly for this nice review, we love to hear that kind of comment, we do put lot of time and energy to make our place cosy and clean and love to know that our customers notice and enjoy it :)
Friendly, clean and comfortable bed”
Friendly staff, got a free upgrade to 4 beds room. nice location just within walking distance to the beach and grocery store. Bed was comfortable. They have an in house craft beer worth checking out.
Average conditions, Overpriced”
it was an average place. was expecting much better given the 4 star rating and the pricing. turns out to be what you'd expect of any motel along the great ocean road. there's no ocean view as well. we stayed in the suite, which is on the ground floor. it was rowdy and loud up till midnight and then the guests were advised to leave the common area.
While the manager was exceptionally friendly, and the hostel produce their own craft beer, the facilities at are so basic that I was somewhat shocked. I get that it's in a 'tourist' zone, but for $90 I expected a *little* more than: a non-airconditioned room that transformed into a woodfired-pizza oven overnight (i.e. after a late-30s day, with a lovely cool fresh breeze blowing outside, the single-cot-with-walls-around-it turned into a veritable sauna); 'share toilets' that were nothing more than cubicles lining the corridors; showers that were also comprised of cubicles lining the corridors (i.e. no privacy whatsoever); and *one* room containing handbasin down the opposite end of the corridor to all the toilets (and my room). Hence, attempting to toilet; shower; and brush one's teeth, apart from the complete lack of privacy, becomes a threefold mission.
We only stay here for one night but it was so great so clean and staff are so nice. I'm really recommend it!!
Best hostel ever”
