          Instant Adoration”

          Staff, location, pub

We came off a trip of 10 nights in 5-star hotels throughout Ireland and had a few days on our own in Dublin. We wanted to be close enough to city center to walk to locations of interest without being overcharged for sleeping quarters. The man in reception was so very friendly, welcoming and accommodating of our every need. When we got to our rooms, they were simply but fully furnished; we immediately liked being there and were so happy with our choice. We explored the pub, and found a beautiful local Irish experience that was a perfect base to start and end our daily excursions. All staff encountered in the hotel and pub were so friendly and accommodating. The taxi to the airport was prompt (early) and the driver was so informative and friendly, with a very reasonable flat rate. We loved the experience, and would definitely return there.

          Cleanliness, location, value

Its my first time to stay in hotel in Dublin. And I travel with my 4-5yrs boy. He really like the hotel. The price is cheap compare to what you get. The room is clean. There are everything you need from staying over night, shower, bathtub, ironing, tea/Coffee. Its very good location. There is bus stop front of hotel. Or you can walk to tram station only 1station away from the city centre.

          Portobello Hotel ”

Had to book this hotel last minute due to flight problems so we had to pay more. But what a gem! Very clean and quaint. The view from room 306 looked just like Mary Poppins roofs (I started stepping in time). The staff was very friendly and helpful. Portobello Bar is on the ground floor and the hotel is above and has a separate entrance with a connecting door to the bar.

Nice basic hotel. Ideal base for exploring Dublin. Very clean and the guy on the reception was very welcoming. Lovely bar and restaurant, but skip the nightclub Rain. Very limited parking spaces outside. Parking lot across the road for €10 per day or stay, not sure (clarify).

          Location, reception staff, cost

Nice, basic little hotel in Dublin. The location is very good and 10 minutes walking distance to the city centre. It's reasonably priced also for central Dublin. The room was basic but very clean. Hotel is above a nice, popular pub.

Visited on Monday & Tuesday, so the place was quiet. Very comfy bed. Newly refurbished bathroom. Very clean. Coffee, tea and biscuit provided. Breakfast is extra. It's by a canal so nice view from the window. Bus stop just around the corner or 20 minutes walk to the city centre. A short skip to a supermarket. Restaurants all around. Portobello is a cool neighbourhood. Your key doesn't open the front door so you have to buzz the front desk, someone was always there to open the door, even late at night.

Nice location, great old building ”

Clean, comfortable rooms; nice location near the canal; great value.

This hotel does nicely for an affordable stay in Dublin and is good value for a B&B style room …. Particularly if you have a car.

          Friendly Hotel”

The first thing that struck me about the hotel was the friendliness of the staff who could not do enough for you. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. There was a large TV and for those who like tea/coffee plenty of: tea bags; milk etc. The internet was the fastest I have ever experienced, an astonishing 39 Mbps and to get onto it could not be easier. Breakfast was an extra, but at 5 Euros I thought good value for money. For this of you staying at the weekend and do not like to hear live music I suggest you ask for a room on the second or third floor. Would I use the hotel again, absolutely.

          Location and Food

Great hotel! Great staff! Great Food! The hotel is on a great location, nearby Stephen's Street and Rathmines. City Centre is a 25min walk. Breakfast was great too! Staff were very friendly and helpful! I also love the complementary biscuits especially the chocolate ones.

          Portobello Hotel”

Excellent value for the prices charged. food in the pub was very tasty and the hotel is situated close to the city center and all tour buses. Management should invest in putting air conditioning in the rooms to attract more clientele.

          Breakfast”

The breakfast was very good. Our only problem was that it opened at 0700 and most of our tours began at 0700. The staff was very helpful and gave us sandwiches to take along . I would highly recommend this hotel. It is near the laus tram system which we used every day.

          Good”

Everything about the hotel was comfortable and fine... unless you want to sleep at night. The size of the room was good. Bathroom was nice, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. The only reason I get a hotel though is because I need to sleep somewhere and this hotel is attached the a pub. Which wasn’t a problem the first two nights I stayed. Then they turned into a techno dance club one night and it was so loud you could hear it through out the entire hotel (as I was several stories up). I had ear plugs but the other problem was I could literally feel the bass in my bed. When I went to the front desk I was informed this is normal and that it can continue till three in the morning. The last night of my trip I couldn’t sleep and on my last night had an early morning flight. This was extremely upsetting.
