Summer House Backpackers
Potts Point,Potts Point - View on map
"Summer House Staff is lovely!! Big shout out to Georgia and Jana. Very warm welcome in Summerhouse. +Amazing social hostel, good location, free brekkie, clean rooms, activities. - The showers could be better - at some point boiling hot or freezing cold but rarely something in between. There is one or 2 showers where you can actually regulate the temperature :-) But apart from that the best place to be. Thank you Carola from Austria"

"Stay was exactly what it is advertised as. Extremely convenient, located right in potts point. Wireless served its purpose and is fast enough for everything under day-trading stocks. Has a full kitchen, which comes in handy if you're not a fan of the normal Oz restaurants and clean. "

"We have stayed here before as it's in such a great location in Potts Point, close to shops, restaurants, cafes, public transport, botanic gardens and opera house. Rooms are big, but a bit dated. Staff are friendly."

Macleay Hotel
Potts Point,Potts Point - View on map
"The reception and operational staffs were very caring and accommodating. We were given the opportunity to check the available room options for our preferred views. The overall check-in process was efficient noneteheless. The room and the facilities were very clean with fresh ambiance. Good Wifi and comfortable bed. The kitchen and coking amenities are an extremely useful given we could easily did the grocery at the Metro/Woolworth across the street. Located in the beautiful, serene, classy and friendly Potts Point neighbourhood, the hotel is within walking distance to Circular Quay. It cost quite reasonably to reach Sydney attraction spots via taxi (we are a family of four including two children) from the hotel. Our family had a wonderful experience in Sydney which nonetheless contributed with the excellent experience in staying in Macleay. Our sincere appreciation to Paolo, Cyrus and the rest of the Macleay staffs. We definitely look forward to staying again at Macleay Hotel."

Nesuto Woolloomooloo
Potts Point,Potts Point - View on map
"I originally booked with another service apartment about 2 blocks from Waldorf but switched in a heartbeat when I saw the size of the room! I did not regret the switch about 5 days before we flew to Australia. The atmosphere of the place is homey & cozy. Asif, who was at the front desk was very friendly & accomodating. We reserved 3 rooms & Asif was so nice to give us 2 connecting rooms. The room is spacious with a kitchenette, a beautiful wooden dining table which can easily accomodate 6 people, a big sofa, and the bathroom is clean, airy & large. It could use a bidet for the convenience of the guests. The beds are a tad too soft but we still managed to sleep soundly in the 7 days we stayed there. The breakfast is simple but adequate. The wifi worked perfectly for me. It was not bad at all. The location is wonderfully near the wharf. I will definitely recommend the waldorf Woolloomooloo in Potts Point to everyone. Great value for money"

The Bayswater Sydney
Potts Point,Potts Point - View on map
"Bathroom was too small. However overall the beds were huge and facilities plentiful. This hotel is in the heart of Kingscross with popular nightclubs next door and across the road. Despite the night life we could not hear it from our room. It is an easy walk to the main Kingscross drag where the night adventures truly light up. Parking was available but the train station is close by also. Potts Point also has great cafes and some electic shopping."

More about Potts Point

Kings Cross, about a kilometer east of Sydney City Center, is one of Sydney's most colorful and exciting areas. Signposted by the famous neon Coca-Cola billboard, Kings Cross is a popular area for young budget travelers owing to its affordable guesthouses, its abundance of bars and clubs, its proximity to the city center and its convenience to Bondi Beach. More than just guesthouses and hostels, Kings Cross/Potts Point has a growing number of serviced apartments and chic hotels.

Darlinghurst Road is the street that cuts directly through the middle of the Kings Cross/Potts Point area. Most of the suburb's hotels, bars and clubs are located within a few blocks of Darlinghurst Road and though elements of the suburb's red-light character remain, this area is becoming progressively gentrified and Potts Point has some of the most sought-after real estate in Sydney.

West of Darlinghurst Road, Kings Cross's rows of Victorian terraces are mostly residential and to the north where Potts Point begins, the main strip turns from nightclubs and bars to hip restaurants, cafés and boutique stores. In terms of dining and entertainment the Kings Cross/Potts Point area is completely self-contained, with a diverse array of restaurants, pubs, clubs and bars.

On the eastern side, Elizabeth Bay's art deco apartment blocks sit beside sleek designer condominiums. Rushcutters Bay, at the area's eastern edge, is an affluent enclave of houses and apartments. Rushcutters Bay Park is a picturesque green space that sets the scene for joggers, dog-walkers and family picnics, while the bay itself is home to Sydney Yacht Club and offers spectacular views.

Kings Cross is served by an underground railway station and major bus services that run to the eastern suburbs and the city center. From Kings Cross it's a ten-minute train ride to Bondi Junction bus and rail terminal and a similar journey to the Sydney CBD.
