About Pousada De Sao Tiago Hotel

This historical hotel was originally the Fortaleza da Barra fortress built by the Portuguese to defend Macau against pirates and invaders in the 17th century. A century later, a chapel was dedicated to St. James at the same site. The Pousada De Sao Tiago Hotel is situated in a posh residential area near the A-Ma Temple, Maritime Museum, and Gate of Understanding. It is ideal for travelers who want to explore Macau's entertainment and shopping hub. There is also a transfer service from the hotel to the ferry terminal/Macau International Airport, and is subject to availability. The hotel offers 12 suites, most of which overlook the bay. It also houses a swimming pool and the La Paloma restaurant. If you’re looking for a special and unique experience, look no further than Pousada De Sao Tiago Hotel.

It was such a great experience staying in this hotel. Every detail was taken care of. Even moisturizing facial mask was provided at night time. It is a must experience in Macao!

Far from the casino crowd
This 17th Century hotel is full of the antique charm that has disappeared from most of the Orient. Nestled in the mountainside near the historic A Ma temple, it has excellent amenities including a refreshingly quiet pool. The rooms are elegant suites and breakfast is served, not a buffet. The terrace is a pleasant venue for a light Portuguese wine or fruity Madeira as the sun sets.

Traditional building with high-end in room facilities
Excellent location for quiet zone in Macau, can enjoy the fireworks show at night with the Macau Tower. Only the swimming pool not big enough, overall is fine and the restaurant is good as well. The most impressive is the in room Jacuzzi and steam room. Very relax for short weekend.

Never stay in this hotel. Bad experience for my marriage proposal!
I booked the Da Barra Suite Harbour Seaview room and wanted to propose to my girlfriend. The room is acceptable (big and modern room but with small insects on the wall). However, the service is extremely bad. The hotel staff was unprofessional and rude. (We regretted that we did not look through the comments in other reviews which say the same thing before booking) When we had dinner in the hotel, the waiters kept talking in the corner and always neglected the customers. When I proposed successfully to my girlfriend, we asked the staff in the counter to take one photo for us. She was very unwillingly to help and her face was darken. With the low quality of service, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It ruins the mood of my girlfriend and me!

Such a romantic getaway in a really cool place ! So different from anywhere else in Macau ! Ideal for people looking to getaway from the hustle and bustle of this sin city ! Perfect place to relax ! Suite was so big and I think quite a bargain in this city ! Jacuzzi was wonderful and fits a couple ! Will come back again for sure !

It was great experience. Excellent room condition, helpful staffs and historical atmosphere gave me great impression. We would like to visit again for next opportunity. One minor thing. Please take care of mosquitoes inside the room..
