Great location and very friendly host”
We stayed in PP Red Tuna for 2 nights, and we were very pleased by this hotel and its staff. It was great bonus that we could use a kayak for free - it allows to go to Nua Beach for 15 minutes which is much more interesting than going by foot. Tuna organized transfer to the center for reasonable price (much lower than taxi boats) Breakfast was also quite good. The only annoying thing was a plenty of mosquito in the room. It is recommended to check all corners of the room carefully before going to sleep.

Fantastic budget accommodation with very friendly owner and staff.”
Great restaurant, fab breakfast. Very friendly owner, Mr Tuna. Private Red Tuna long tail boat will collect from Tonsai Pier and take you to Lana Bay where the hotel is located. My son stayed here whilst I was staying at Phi Phi Beach Resort and he was very happy with the accommodation, food etc.

Had a great time at the Red Tuna Hut”
I booked this for me and a mate, not knowing anything about the Loh Ba Kao Bay area, and we had the best time. Tuna and his wife are really friendly, all the people around the area are friendly. It was quiet, being low season, so we got to spend a lot of time talking to people and enjoying the local hospitality. The rooms are basic, we had a problem with our shower and they fixed it straight away. bed was comfortable, we had a nice balcony overlooking the creek, air conditioning was good, hot water was good though water pressure was a bit low. Breakfast was great, as was all the food at the Red Tuna restaurant. Red Tuna massage was good as well. No wifi in the rooms but that wasn't a problem, it just meant we spent more time down at reception or at the restaurant, which meant more socialising! Would definitely stay here again!

Great bungalows behind a village! ”
IMPORTANT: These bungalows are located directly behind The Outrigger Resort in the small village on the North East Side of Phi Phi Don directly between La Nah Bay and Loh Bagao. Not easy to get to from Tongsai Bay Pier where you will most likely be dropped via Ferry or High Speed Boat from Phuket or Krabi. With that being said, you can find the guy at the pier with the Outrigger sign (they wear bright orange polo shirts) and pay a couple hundred baht for a ride to the Outrigger (which is an incredible sight to see) or if you are in a group, hire a private longtail and split the cost of 1200 baht. The fun ride is roughly between 20-30 mins. So be prepared as the welcoming in Tongsai is fast and chaotic. A) If you go the Outrigger route there is a path to the far right of the Outrigger drop off point. Follow the river into the village through the restaurant and bar area and just before you reach the bridge its on the left. B) If you take a private longtail, depending on the time of day and tide, the driver can go up river and drop you off at the bridge. If the tide is too low, then see step A. There are only a few bungalows and its a clean and very quiet place to relax. Its a great location for activities such as Kayaking and Boat trips. Make sure to book a snorkel trip with "Mote". He has a shop between a dive shop and massage shop in the front of the village. Ive done it twice with him. Great experience and you will make a friend for life. Enjoy your trip!

Great hotel in a great area of Phi Phi”
Red tuna hut was a great find. The hotel is perfect if you are looking for a relaxed getaway to Phi Phi and prefer going for a nice meal instead of partying all night. You have to get a longtail boat from the main ferry pier. This means getting to the 'main' area of Phi Phi is difficult and expensive to get to. No complaints from us!

Nice owner amazing area ”
Red Tuna Hut is not in the party center so it is perfect if you want to be close to the nature. Nui Beach is just 20 min by walk and it is the nicest beach I've have ever seen. Mr. Tuna and his wife is really nice, we could use their kanoe and snorkeling equipments for free - we even visited monkey Beach with the canoe which saved us a lot of money.

GREAT LOCATION WITH A GREAT HOST!”
PP TUNA is run by a kind and friendly man named Tuna. He will show you warm hospitality and go out of his way to make sure you have a good time. He will lend you snorkeling gear and a canoe for no extra charge. You can also walk to 2 different beaches, both being less than 10 minutes away. PP Tuna is more like a guest house with private bungalows than a hotel, but it’s very cozy.

thank you for review. Thank you and always welcome our friends.
Absolutely recommended!! ”
Tuna was such a helpful funny and peaceful guy ! On of the friendliest man we have ever met. There is a cool bar next to the reseption and if you like frish fish you have to eat it by Tunas restaurant ! If you want to rent a Kajak you get it for free from Tuna. He also took us with his longtail boot to Loh Dalum bay for free. Thank you for the great time !!

the perfect peaceful escape”
These bungalows were wonderful! The owner Tuna, and his wife were very accomodating. anything i asked, they were happy to help! It was very fun watching him create artwork and hearing about his childhood and how he came into the business. The place is no 5 star accomodation but the aircon works, the bathrooms are just fine for asia, better than what i have at home in China, anyway- and despite the music coming from the bars at night- its peaceful. I enjoied the walk to the beach as there are many flowers and cool sights to be seen, and the view of how islanders live makes you appreciate where you are, just a little bit more. I loved everything about these huts and i will definitely be back!

A great experience! ”
It was great! The rooms were very basic however the experience we had was wonderful. Tuna and his staff were waiting for us at the pier and transferred us directly to the hotel. The fee for the transfer was super cheap compared to hiring a long tail from the pier. Tuna let us use his kayak which is included in the room. The restaurant food was delicious with tunas wife as the chef and tuna himself manning the BBQ with fresh fish: I can't say enough about the friendliness of the staff. It is not always about the number of stars in a hotel or the money you pay.... The people really contribute to making the experience wonderful.

Super cozy hotel and location”
The room is clean and big with a terrace. (Offcourse some small bugs because it’s in a green area). Mr. Tuna is very friendly and service minded. He picked us up at the pier and brought us back for 1000 baht which is a decent price compared to the other taxiboats which will charge you 1200 baht each way. The location is superb and the small village is so cozy. Good breakfast with view to the river.

thank you for your review. We sincerely hope that Someday, the day ahead we will serve our friends again.
Nice Restaurant”
I booked the place but finally didn't stay there - why? Nothing bad to say about the tuna hut. They have a good restaurant and very friendly staff. My decision against it was because of the location and no beaches accessible. I stayed at the nearby resort (Outrigger) the days before I was supposed to move there, so I got to know the area: there is a nice bay with a nice beach which is owned and restricted by the resort. Behind the resort a small (150m) street called "village" with restaurants, bars and massage places leads to a small bridge over a river, which is where you find the tuna hut. So your accessabilities are reduced to the street or you organize a trip back to tonsai but then why stay there? So I ended up extending the resort stay to have both - the good local food of the village and the beach... The owner was very friendly and I can recommend the Red Tuna Restaurant right opposite of the huts.

Enjoyable”
Good place to stay. It's behind the Outrigger Resort (very expensive). So get same location at much cheaper price. In Phi Phi Village = quiet, lots of restaurants to eat at. Basic rooms but clean, spacious, and have own bathroom and air-conditioning.

Nice hotels with nice staff”
The hotel is not easy to get because its on the other side of Tongsai bay. However, here is good with quiet beach and the host of the hotel is very nice. If you could find the hotel once you leave your boat at Tongsai bay, things will be much more easy. The room is nice and clean. The staff were kind and can provides mutiple service about touring. Also, the price is really cheap.

The place is ok but expensive”
This place is not so bad after seeing other parts of the island. However, I would expect a lot more for the price we paid. The bungalows are located in Phi Phi island village, which is far from the main village on PP. That is good because it's quieter and bad because you have to take an extra long tail boat for a lot of money to reach the village. The beaches are cleaner and the water is nicer on this side of the island. The bungalows are rather new, clean, and have a comfortable bed. However I still wonder what was deluxe about it, apart from it being a little bigger than the others. The bathroom is very basic, has a plastic door and floods when you take a shower. There's a single window in the room with no view facing the wall of the next bungalow, so no sunlight. The door of the bungalow has gaps so Mosquitos and other insects do get in. There was also no cleaning nor service during our first two nights. Slow Wifi and only at reception.

Not worth it.”
Good: The staff was kind The room had no bugs. The TV was nice (But only one English channel) The room was large. The room was clean. There was an area outside to sit. It is very close to a NICE beach that few people go to. There are some places very close by for food, etc. Nice AC. The best: It was quiet. It was Phi Phi without the crazy party. The Bad: Boat Taxi not included in price. You want to go somewhere, pay up. Wifi is only available in the "lobby" and doesn't really work well. The bathroom was just weird. The toilet seat wasn't fixed to the toilet, the fixtures where all rusty and jagged, the shower head was pointed at the toilet so it was impossible to keep it from being wet. Just weird. Seemed to be decorated with rag-tag items; very old, worn fridge, a wardrobe didn't function because it didn't lock. No safe deposit box. My room's window pointed out to a bridge, so at night, people could see into my room pretty easily. The doors were locked with a padlock. (Shrug) A good way to let everyone know that you are there or NOT there. And also... wow! The worst: The price just doesn't reflect the product. Sure it was high season, The price just does not reflect the actual value.

Backpacker Mike”
Splashed out a little more on this place so I could do some hard drinking in the bars, and to some snorkleing around the great beaches near the village, the guy Tuna who owns the place is a nice guy very friendly and all the snorkeling gear he supplies as part of your stay is in good condition, only down side is the amount of trash around the beaches and the many boats that come to close to people in the sea.

just a horrible experiance”
PP red tuna hut. Ko phi phi.Thailand. Worst experience of all my travels- dont go. I left this hotel even thoghe it was paid for with no chance for a refund. Never done this before in my life. I paid for this hotel for 2 nights in advance via agoda. No cancellation was possible (dont make this mistake). This hotel is located far and away from the center. No where was it written that a boat transfer is mandatory. As The hotel website offers boat service, On the phone they (Rudely) directed me to take " their boat service" from the main peir. Over there stood a guy who asked to see our reservation and wrote it down. A slow boat arrived 45 minutes after while we waited. When we finally got to the hotel, i was presented by the receptionist, an old and very rude and unfriendly woman, with a bill for the boat for 1000 baht (we were 2 people traveling). I was very angry and frustrated as this was mantioned nor told to us nowhere and the service was told to be complementary by the hotel (as is indicated). It seems they tell you nothing on purpose and wait for you to get off the boat to tell you about the bill-true criminal behaviour. The unbelievable thing she did was to tell me, "you can go away, i dont care, but you pay me now for the boat". Then another person from the staff said it to me again with a threat tone. I paid for the boat and left the hotel the following day , knowing i can not get a refund for the booking for the second night. and that i lost my money. the room :There was no ellectricity half the day! Very basic accomodation. Rude impolite staff. Unbeliavable Greed . Poor accomodation. PP red tuna hut gave us a trip ruining experience. I strongly advise you not to go.

A hut indeed”
Our room was more like a bungalow than a room, even though the staff "cleans" the room, the bathroom stinks as the water smells like rotten eggs from macerating in the pipes. we had to use bottled water to wash our faces and teeth and went to the Outrigger pool to use the shower to rinse ourselves. The appliances in the bathroom are damaged by the humidity and are not thoroughly cleaned up. Breakfast was so-so. Staff was nice and smiling but that doesn't do for the smell. A transfer to the red tuna hut is mandatory by tail boat from tonsai, 600 baht one way, which is way too expensive for the price of the night at the hut. Ultimately, if you can avoid Phi Phi altogether, try another deserted island as this one is a trap for tourists who have a choice between either buying flip flops, eating a cheeseburger or get a bamboo tattoo. Or get a boat ticket to escape.
