Relaxed place ”
Spend one night at Praepimpalai Thai Spa & Resort The resort is located along the western bank of the river. Unfortunately there´s no access to the river from the resort – at least not that I recognized. The room was nice, big and clean. It’s quite a few years old though… There are some nice restaurants along the river in walking distance. To get to the city, it might be better to rent a scooter, which shouldn´t be an issue as well. The stuff speaks English and is very warm and friendly. The Praepimpalai Thai Spa & Resort offers as well massages which comes in handy after a hard day travelling… Would stay there again.
Comfortable Resort Stay”
Our stay at Praepimpalai was enjoyable with the assistance of very helpful and friendly staff. The availability of affordable massage and spa treatments helped us enjoy our stay at this resort even further. The high speed internet and comfortable large rooms were definite plus points and we would stay at Praepimpalai again should we return to Kamphaengphet.
Wonderful, quiet retreat”
we stayed here for a quiet time after six weeks of traveling. our poolside room was large and very well appointed. breakfast was delivered each morning at a time we chose. the offerings are limited, but our request for fruit and yoghurt was happily met, and on both mornings we feasted on wonderful fruits and huge bowls of yoghurt. the spa is very professional, and very reasonably priced. in two days i had a two hour thai massage, two hour oil massage and a one hour facial divine. i was ready to continue traveling. the resort is across the river from the historical sites, which is slightly problematic. the distance is around 3 or 4k. the spa staff took us there on their motorbikes, and we found one of the few tuck tuks available in kamphaeng phet to take us around the forest site and bring us back. despite the presence of an exquisite world heritage site, the town doesn't really seem set up for tourists. in a way, of course, this is a relief, but getting around and making oneself understood are problematic. at the end of our stay, the owner herself drove us to the bus station. in short, stay here if you would like a couple of days of being pampered while also visiting a fascinating thai town which other tourists seem to ignore.
Enjoy the nice, warm atmosphere of Thailand”
I stayed one night at Praepimpalai Thai Spa & Resort. Very friendly staff. Very nice, warm atmosphere. Nice pool. Clean, big rooms. Awesome brekki. I´d definitely stay at Praepimpalai again…
Amazingly friendly”
this is a very small (only a few rooms) family ran hotel. at first we were a bit lost when we realized that we are basically in the middle of nowhere, but afterwards we understood the convenience of our location: very close to the historical park, still in quiet neighbourhood with a possibility to go walk on the shores of the river by just making a few steps deeper in the hotel territory. but what made our stay a very memorable experience is the owner and her husband. i will not go into the details, it would take too long, still i want to say a very big thank you for and her husband for showing us real thai hospitality and helping us in all our needs and wants :) would not hesitate a second to recommend this hotel and surely will stay again, if coming back! also, we tried massage in different places in thailand but my wife told that the best foot massage was in this spa (and believe me she knows something about massages).
Brilliant massage and pretty hotel”
the best thing about this hotel was the thai massage, which was very good (i've had a few!) the staff at the spa were very professional and it was cheap compared with other hotel-based spas. the rooms were very quirky and unusual, in a good way, with tons of little features that made us smile. breakfast was served in the room, which was nice. it was nothing to write home about but decent given the price. the communal areas are pretty. there is a small pool and pleasant little garden.
Wonderful rooms, great service”
Check in was fast and easy. We were shown to our room and it was very impressive. The rooms are set up for giving spa treatments and are beautifully decorated. The hotel has no restaurant but you are ask what time you want breakfast and it is served to your room at the requested time. The staff recommended a restaurant about a kilometre from the hotel and furnished us with a motor scooter, included with the room, to go eat (the food was fantastic, the view was beautiful and the price was ridiculously cheap.
Nice pool, quiet location”
The Praepimpalai is a small hotel (only four or five rooms) beside a nice swimming pool. Each room is themed quite differently and my room had a floor to ceiling wall of glass looking to the pool. During the day the tinted glass gives privacy ... but at night one must draw the curtains! Staff were helpful with maps and suggestions on sightseeing, but I did not try the spa or massages available.
Wonderful resort”
the resort is small but very lovely. the owner was very friendly with really perfect english, the staff was also welcoming. there are only few rooms located around small but nice pool. the room equipment was really pretty in very nice modern style, the breakfast served in our room. the spa appreciated and professional.
Great boutique ”
Friendly n helpful staff. Quiet area. Big yummy breakfast. Clean n comfy room. While they have a spa, I think the name 'spa and resort' is a bit misleading. It's more of a homey boutique. Great vibes n good stay.
clean, quiet hotel, fair price, no breakfast”
First, It was a bit difficult to find this place (no sign from the main road from Bangkok), and even with a GPS (when you have a foreign GPS, it's almost a dream to find an address in Thailand as there are too many ways to write the same Thai letters). After asking many people (who all said the 'knew it', but not really sure they really knew this place), we found it, close to the river, but on the opposite side of the city center. There is a small car park (2 or 3 cars maximum) in front of the ‘resort’. Staffs were almost surprised to see guests, even in January which is peak season (only my 1 was occupied), changed quickly the things that must be changed, and all was fine. There were a few mosquitoes; the swimming pool was too cold to have a try. Price in the range of 600-800 THB is a bargain. Beds were clean, water was warm. Close by are some nice local restaurants, open in the evening only. The main surprise was the absence of breakfast in the resort (maybe because there were no other customers?) and in the morning and surrounding area, nothing was open, even for a rice-soup ("Khao-Tom")... The best of the location is the historical site of Kamphaeng Phet. I almost prefer it to Sukhothai: the ruins of the temples in the forest with almost no visitors are a must. To all visitors and resident: PLEASE, Keep it clean and as it is (unlike what became to Ayutthaya…).
very friendly efficient staff”
The owner and 1 member of staff speak English and they offer private taxi to the UNESCO Historical Park at Kampaeng Phet for Thai Baht 150.00 one way and give you their telephone number for the return journey. They also took us to the bus stop upon vacation for free. Excellent location to tour the historical park however bring dinner with you as their are no restaurants nearby, so a microwave is provided at the resort.
Dreaming in Kamphaeng Phet”
It is a true boutique spa & resort, worth to spend a couple of days to relax
Quirky but Good”
The Praepimpalai hotel was rather quirky, in that way that provincial Thai hotels can be. There aren't many rooms, but there is a pool. My pool side room did indeed face the pool, with huge windows that looked right into the pool area, which meant there wasn't any privacy if left the drapes open. The bed was hard as a rock and the hand-held shower head was mounted at knee height. These issues were minor annoyances for me.
Fine location-well equiped room”
The service is reasonable. Room was well equiped with microwave, refrigerator, LCD cable TV, hot water shower. Unfortunately, my room was at the end of the building, thus, in-room internet signal was very poor. The resort has friendly staff. All rooms have swimming pool access (it is a small resort). But the swimming pool was not well attended. Not so very dirty but not very inviting either (leaves floating on the water surface, we didn't see anyone try to do anything about it during the time we stayed). Breakfast was served as ordered when checking in, at the appointed time, in my case, we had to wait around 20 minutes later than the appointed time. Anyhow, the service was over all OK. One may be able to find the same level of satisfaction from other hotels/resorts in Kampaengpetch at a lower price though.
Nice little hotel with large rooms”
This is a very small hotel located down a long side street. A local resident friend helped us find it and they were able to let us in late. The room was very large, a good layout and a comfortable bed. The combination shower/jacuzzi bath was large. The amenities were fine also. The air con worked well and kept the place cool. The pool was long and clean, but narrow. There were some minor issues. First, there is a porch light directly outside the upper window. There are probably supposed to be shades or curtain there, but the position was such it was like a spotlight on the bed all night. Based on that, we were going to ask for another room the following day. Second, some of the plumbing arrangement was unclear. We didn't figure out how to get the hot water to work until the morning and couldn't find the drain plug. Third, I couldn't find a WiFi signal. Perhaps it is non-broadcasting. By then we decided to leave, so I didn't bother asking about it. Finally - and most significantly - the bathroom door knob broke in such a way I was locked inside the bathroom. We called maintenance and I was out in about 20 minutes (removed entire door knob). Things break, and I really don't fault the hotel too much for this incident, especially since the proprietor came by later to personally apologize and offer a free massage. By this time, enough had happened we decided to try another place. If I were planning to return to Kamphaeng Phet, I would probably go back to this property - if I could get a room without the outside light. Breakfast in the room was a very pleasant surprise, and very good. The staff really do understand service and seem genuinely concerned about guests enjoying their stay. I think our minor issues were just a combination of late arrival, time crunch, and bad luck.
Disappointing.”
The room I stayed in was not like the photographs on Agoda, it was decorated in bright colours and bold patterns. I think this hotel has been converted from a massage parlour as the room doors and windows are those of a shop (hence the spa aspect). There only appeared to be about 3 rooms. The room was clean but for the price and having stayed in similar properties, of a similar standard, I would have expected breakfast to be included. Some notes for the management team to address: The pool should be cleaned of debris in the mornings. The door to my room was damaged and made a horrible scraping noise of metal on metal when opened and closed. It would have been disturbing had there been other guests. It certainly woke my wife and daughter up. The shower in the washroom was broken and supplied warm water for about a minute before switching off completely. The shower is mounted on the front of the bath, you have to sit in the bath to wash with it and water goes everywhere. Having a bath was not an option, there was no plug and no hot water. The room only had two point plugs; if you bring a laptop, or any modern electronic device with a Thai three pin plug, then you will not be able to charge it up. The 'resort' does not serve any food other than breakfast. There is a nearby restaurant that serves good food and is popular, but it is mosquito infested. During four years of living in Thailand I was bitten more that night than ever before. The staff seemed pleasant and there is a convenience store opposite the 'spa'. My experience wasn't bad, but overall I was dissapointed.
small hostel for massage lover”
Actually,it is a spa and massage shop with 6 guest rooms. A room has a nice unique bathroom , natural design. No dinning room. A large disc of ABF was served at our room . The hotel is so small but staff is nice and plenty of service mind . We arrived late . Although spa and massage shop is nearly out of sevice hours , we got 1 hour massage .
Wonderful place”
Very kind staffs and proper facilities. I was very satisfied with this resort.
Cosy hotel with friendly staff and a nice pool”
I felt at home right from the moment i arrived. The staff are very friendly and helpful, even though there was a bit of a language barrier. The rooms are cosy, clean and decorated with attention to details. It shows that the owners put their heart into their business. There is a nice pool to cool off. If you like you can also have an in-house massage. Breakfast is served in your room at the time you like. To get around you can rent a motorbike. You might be able to find a cheaper place nearby, but in this case i can only say "splurge".
