    Keep it Secret!”

    Location, Relax, Service

Would you be able to find a hidden and romantic spot, in the middle of Bangkok? It exists! It’s even quiet over there (Yes, Quiet in BKK). And although its near to the old town, you can get there only by the Hotel owned 24/7 boat service. It’s the Praya Palazzo. It’s really a place for relax, enjoying the silence or watching over the River. But, we are still in Bangkok, isn’t? Well, just walk to the Hotel Pier, and after a few minutes ride you will enjoy again the tumultuous Bangkok. The Hotel even gives you a phone, so you can call the Hotel Boat whenever you need or want get back to the “heaven of silent Bangkok”. After enjoying your night, get your “a la carte” breakfast at the pool or in the dining room, before heading again into the noise of the City of Angels. I never thought a City like this could have a so relaxing place. The Praya Palazzo might not be the ultimate Luxury property, but it’s small size (17 rooms), centrally but “hidden” location, friendly Staff, nice views, historical building and “romantic setting” are values of it’s own. Everything it’s nicely designed, and while rooms are rather small, they are comfortable and with a touch of the past (while meeting with modern standards). Just don’t concern that a wooden floor makes noise when you walk. This is normal! (as it should be!) Well, it’s just a lovely place, even more. A place to feel good. (Not for Backpackers or Party People) No wonder I liked it! This is truly a Boutique Hotel. For Mainstream, better book elsewhere (so I might still get a free room!). I shouldn’t even talk about this place… ;)

    Lovely Hotel with Exceptional Service”

    Quiet Location

Praya Palazzo Hotel is situated across mainland Bangkok, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and this is what I like the best. It has a colonial style architecture and is simply a stunning place to stay for any relaxing holiday getaway. The only mode of transportation to the hotel would be via the boat. The hotel has it's own boat to fetch their customers from the pier. All you need to do is to give them a call from the pier and they will arrange a boat to pick you up shortly and it will only take 5 minutes to reach the hotel. Besides the unique location, I would also like to compliment on their excellent customer service that makes our stay more enjoyable. It's always nice to see someone waiting for you with your room keys when they know that you are reaching the hotel. When we came back to our room on our first night, it's really comforting to see that someone has already make our bed and has even turned on the air-condition for us. In order for us to contact them for whatever issues when we are at mainland Bangkok, the staff even arranged a mobile phone to us for free. Another thing worth mentioning is the breakfast. It's not like those international buffet breakfast from any other hotels. Breakfast is served from their restaurant and all you need is to order from the menu and it will be served to shortly. It's definitely a star hotel and I would rate it 10 points and beyond if I could.

restored mansion with history & unique location”

historic architecture, tranquil setting, cozy atmosphere

My mother and I had a very relaxing time at Praya Palazzo. The hotel is quietly hidden in the proximity of the old Bangkok. Although easily accessed by boat from Phra Athit pier, it offers a peaceful ambiance with a great view of Chaophraya river. Its building was converted from a historic western-style mansion once belonged to an elite Thai-Chinese family that had undergone a long history and several adaptations before having become this unique boutique accommodation. Its restorations deserve a special recognition. Every detail of hotel facilities and services, including decorations, food and garden, has been thoughtfully designed to deliver the story of Bangkok during the period the mansion was built. I highly recommend Praya Palazzo for any architecture/culture/history enthusiast.

Beautiful old Colonial Thai building in Bangkok.”

Praya Palazzo is a beautiful old Colonial building on the Chayo Praya River in Bangkok. There are lots of old photos that show how many incantations this building has had. The pool is lovely and right beside the river, its very interesting watching the daily river life, whilst relaxing with a drink. The sunbeds DO need to be replaced. The rooms are clean, although dark but beds are spacious and comfortable. It would be lovely to be able to open some windows but due to the layout this is not really possible. The upstairs rooms apparently do open up to get a view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Love that it is opposite the pier and you need to have the "Dinky Boat" to transfer you back and fro. You do feel special. We will be back to stay next time in Bangkok.

    Warm and welcoming Historic property”

Staff service, Beauty of the historic palazzo and the private boat service across the river

My two night visit was great. I have stayed in many of Bangkok top hotels and Praya Palazzo, while only a boutique-size hotel, is a very good choice for most visitors. While there is some initial difficulty in finding the correct way to get to the hotel, it is more than made up for by the quick scenic ride to the hotel's dock. The grounds of the palazzo are lovely and the river location acts as both a window on a Bangkok and a way to get away from the city's frantic pace. The renovation of this historic home has been done very tastefully and produced a charm that new hotels can't touch.

Beautiful escape from the heat and crowds”

Cool, quality food and drink (at a price), very helpful service from staff

The hotel is located in the Chao Praya river and a shuttle fetches you from Pra Arthit pier. From the minute you arrive, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are plenty big enough to feel homely and let you relax, while still maintaining a hotel quality and ambience. The evening meal (rack of lamb) was simply delicious and as good a quality as in any high-end restaurant. We didn't try any local food, but there are plenty of street vendors just across the river for that. Overall, we loved it and would choose Praya Palazzo every time we go back to Bangkok.

    Colonial Style hotel with privacy”

Beautifully restored palace right next to the river cant get any closer than that

really stylish 17-room mansion renovated into a luxury boutique hotel. if you are looking for something different than the usual high-end design hotels that all tend to look the same then praya palazzo with its rich historical background is the right one for you. you are in the heart of bangkok on the banks of the chao phraya river and can relax by a beautiful pool surrounded by history. the only drawback, if it really is, is that the hotel is only reachable by the free shuttle boat but it never proved any issue for us. you just call them on your cell and they zip over in 5 min or less. can only highly recommend this hotel and its caring staff.

after a long trip coming in from london via dubai the praya plazzo was the perfect haven to relax and unwind, the staff couldnt do more to make you feel welcomed and catered for, an absolute gem with a lot of history in a superb location, peacefully hidden a short trip across the river with the impressive rama bridge in view, only area that could be improved would be the time of the last boat back to hotel at midnight, bangkok is such a vibrant and interesting city with so much to see and do a couple more hours would be beneficial. there was a wedding on the day of our arrival and the staff cared so much about their hospitality and service that they rewarded and offered us a full refund for the day, not that we minded as we found the traditional thai wedding very interesting. we would strongly recommend and would certainly revisit playa palazzo next time we are in bangkok.

    Unforgettable Staycation- Eccellente ! ”

Our anniversary staycation couldn’t be better! Thanks to Khun S and everyone at Praya Palazzo for very attentive service. The mansion is well renovated, the history make it even more special. Our room at the front corner of the building is one of the best from window can see the huge tree and river, arch window frame high ceiling, layers of curtain With good lighting make the room so cozy and romantic. Swimming pool by the river is good size and get both sun & shade, so relaxing swimming with sounds of birds & boats. Praya Dining also has a very interesting menu with authentic Thai recipes from the old era. Breakfast served by the river was another memorable meal. We couldn’t say enough how happy we were spending our time at Praya Palazzo. Grazie mille!

An old world retreat close to the busy tourist are”

The staff, the setting and the room

Praya Palazzo is a wonderful retreat from the hectic city. The 1920s villa and grounds are peaceful and relaxed and ideally located right on the river with it's own 24 hour private shuttle boat across to the busy Khao San Road area of the city. All of the staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The rooms are not overly large but are very nicely decorated and the beds are comfortable. The minibar contents was free which is most unusual! Breakfast was served by the pool, overlooking the river with a choice of continental or cooked. My husband and I both had the continental option which was delicious and included muesli, yogurt, pancakes and fruit. Overall we were both very pleased with our stay at Praya Palazzo.

Old-world luxury great despite imperfections ”

If you like old-world luxury and you like the idea of being isolated yet 5 minutes on a private boat from the busy city, then this is the place for you. The rooms are stylish, breakfast is good, and the pool area is a fabulous, quiet place to relax for the afternoon before heading out to the city for the evening. It wasn't perfect though: It's quite common to label rooms with little view as garden view, but none-the-less, at a nice place like this, it's disappointing to have only a view overlooking the unattractive backyards of local neighbors. The room also lacked places to sit. There was only a single desk chair. Finally, the room cleaning wasn't very thorough - some surfaces were dusty and walls were dirty with finger prints etc. I've lived in BKK for 3 years, and despite its imperfections, I'm inclined to visit Praya Palazzo again. The privacy, quite and old-world luxury is a welcome change to the typical fancy river hotel in BKK.

    Hidden Jewel!”

Service and dining were uncomprable. We were made to feel like the only guests thee, and the staff could not have been more accomodating.

Nestled across the Chao Praya River from stop N13 and in view of the beautiful Rama IV bridge, the Praya Palazzo was a quiet haven from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok with beautiful grounds, delicious dining, and antique rooms. The managers went out of their way to be helpful. My only complaint was that the mattress was too firm for my liking.

    Beautiful and accomodating!”

    Great service, great location!

This hotel is a little piece of history in Bangkok, which is something that my partner and I valued very much. It is a unique stay on the Chao Praya and very remote as you must take a boat across the river to get to it (provided 24hrs by the hotel). It was clean, luxurious, the food was wonderful (a little pricey but worth it), and the scenery is a perfect break from the craziness of Bangkok. We were happy to escape to this oasis after long days of touring crowded markets and temples. The only con would be that the english isn't that fluent amongst the staff. But language barriers can easily be overcome.

Haven from the Hustle and Bustle”

Small size, intimate nature, really felt like we were a long way from the city.

the hotel is small and intimate. the surrounds give you the feeling that you are a long way from the busy bangkok streets. the rooms and communal spaces feature details that made us feel like we had stepped back in time. the staff during our stay could not be faulted. i will definitely return to the praya pallazo.

    Memorable stay”

    Many

We felt lucky to have found this hotel, almost by accident. The staff were delightful. they remembered your name, spoke (which in our case was a bonus) perfect English. Nothing was too much trouble. For instance,It was necessary to change the day of one of our tours, giving us a problem with our external guide. The hotel staff simply said 'leave it to us, go and enjoy your day' - and upon our return everything was in place. You are not a number here, you are very much an individual and their attention to detail is commendable. We read other reviews about waiting up to 15 mins. for the boat to arrive. This is clearly not a problem if you have enough clarity of thought to ring them 10 mins. before YOU arrive, and even if you need to wait for a few minutes, there is plenty happening on the river to keep you occupied. Further to that, a member of management was there every time to greet you with both a warm smile and your room key. We rarely return to an hotel twice, but would simply not consider staying anywhere else if returning to Bangkok. John and Kerry

    Perfect escape on the river”

Very quiet, plush rooms, beautiful gardens

We loved the Praya Palazzo. The rooms are comfortably furnished, with good wi-fi access and quiet AC. The International food was superb. Even in the day, sitting by the pool was quite cool and very interesting watching the birds come to cool down in the pool, as well.

Amazing experience at a luxury boutique hotel, value for money, conveniently located ”

The colonial-styled estate with 16 rooms is located on the Chaophraya river bank, right across a touristy area of Khaosarn. The only way you can get there is by a private boat (free or charge). While located right in the heart of bustling Bangkok, the early 20th century deserted-mansion-turn-boutique hotel with lush green courtyard offers coziness, ultimate privacy and a glimpse of quintessentially aristocratic Bangkok life in the old days. The hotel also offers free shuttle boat (it only takes 3-5 mins) to cross to Phra Artit pier where you can walk to Banglamphoo. Khaosarn and other tourist attractions. The food was also great (if you wanna try Thai cuisine beyond Pad Thai and Green curry). We were treated with gracious hospitality indeed.

Lovely, quiet location with friendly staff”

The bedroom, the swimming pool and the friendly staff

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location in the old quarter of Bangkok. The staff were very attentive and we really liked our room. The riverside seating for eating was excellent and the breakfast included in the price, was very good. The evening meal was very expensive and we did not feel that it was value for money, but next time we would take the complimentary shuttle boat across the river and visit other restaurants instead.

What a wonderful riverside refuge in the heart of Bangkok! The staff, the pool, the location, the ambiance! And with so few rooms (15?), the Palazzo feels like a private resort.
