great place. staff very friendly and accommodating”

the room, the staff, the pool

We had a great stay at the Preah Vihear Hotel. It is the best option you have to see the Preah Vihear temple. The staff is very helpful and accommodating and will also help organising your trip to the temple. There's two options; being driven all the way or walk up the 2000 or so steps. The rooms are large and clean with large comfortable bathrooms. There's also a town nearby where you can go for dinner. We didn't try the food at the hotel, but it seemed very nice.

    Beautiful, peacful surrounds hotel”

Was here as a stopover before heading to Prasat Preah Vihear and it was the best opulent, exquisite hotels in the far corner where civilization has forgotten and I liked it. Will definitely go back again. Water pressure strong, hot running water, great meals, peaceful location and top of the range... considering the surrounding areas...

    uneasy, questionable”

    location, cleanliness

This hotel is aesthetically beautiful, located in a superb place, near to the Preah Vihear site. However, it is the kind of place that makes one uneasy. While eating dinner, several staff standing by, but not smiling, just watching. An eerie feel about the space as though the owner is hard on employees, or does not pay them. Also, there is no ATM anywhere within 90 miles of the hotel and to go to the ATM to use the machine was a hassle as many staff members came alongside. Food was not worth the luxurious cost- when leaving the hotel, staff provided security, which made one feel as they were always followed, watched. overall eerie and would not recommend this overpriced hotel.

The only "upscale" hotel in the province?”

Preah Vihear province is still relatively undeveloped tourism-wise. The hotel is one if not the nicest in the area at the time of my visit, early 2017. Swimming pool isn't very long but its open. Food was not one would expect from a boutique hotel but given the remoteness of the area its nice, relatively speaking.

    It's ok...”

The only proper hotel around Preah Vihear, quiet (there is nothing else to do), the pool table in the restaurant

It's a very quiet hotel. It's ok, as it is just about the only proper hotel you can find in the area, especially if you are heading to visit the BIG Preah Vihear (Angkor) temple. You don't really have any other choice. It's not a bad hotel, just ok and nothing to shout about. I guess the best past-time will be to play pool :D

    Overpriced ”

If the rooms costed half the price, it would be acceptable. Food was better than I expected (after reading some reviews) and staff was also much more friendly helpful and with a better level of English than expected (again after reading reviews). Bathroom could be more user friendly: smaller towels missing, no carpet for shower, no hangers. Light in the room is quite uncomfortable - strange yellow. We haven't checked other options in the area but the location was good and it allowed us to visit Preah Vihear early in the morning.

    Poor from arrival to departure”

On approach the hotel looks rather showy & has a lovely staircase, however that is all I could find to start with something positive ~ the room was dull & facilities were very basic ~ e.g coffee & cups, no kettle . No towels in room , door to bathroom couldn't be closed as handle fell off, dinner was not as good as some of the much fresher & lesser priced local restaurants and overall unfortunately the staff seemed dispondent. The pool floor was terribly dirty, no towels at poolside and a shame as we visited the area to visit Preah Vihear Temple and that was the highlight of our trip after visiting a number of Cambodias beautiful provinces!!!

    Great hospitality”

Now, I'm a return customer for this hotel. Was looking forward to staying again and would stay here again on the count that the manager was warm, welcoming and very up front about the fact that there was something undergoing repairs in the rooms we booked... and offered us alternative arrangements which we appreciated greatly.... a testament that unlike some other places where it's business first and people second... this one puts people first and that really sealed a lasting positive impression on me... Will definitely take this hotel as my first choice when in this region again... see you all again next trip....

Nice, clean hotel, cheap, with friendly service”

    Clean, new

A nice motel-style accommodation. The manager and staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Wifi worked quite well. The only drawback is that it takes about a 5-10 minute trip to get into town, and there is no restaurant in the hotel. Apart from that I would recommend this hotel.

location : the closest to the temple ,although not that close.A small nice pool to refresh.

It is a very "ordinary" boutique hotel.Excellent location (no competition!).Staff reasonably professional (nice but rather below standards).Poor breakfast, poor food.It is simply ridiculously overpriced, probably around two times...So the question is :should you skip hotel and go to the temple (3 hours by car+30mn by 4WD to go up+ reasonably 2 hours around the site not to hurry )within one day?It is a choice.

Given this is supposed to be a "boutique" hotel, I expected a great deal more.”

This is the only "real" hotel in the area and I definitely expected a whole lot more. My booking was lost (email problems) which didn't matter because I was one of only two guests staying. The first thing I do in any hotel is to check the balcony door. The first room was not secure and the aluminium door lock had been previously forced. Even the main room door had been bashed open at some point. Room 2 did lock and was clean and large. I had an early start to the next day, so had a quick dinner in the restaurant which was adequate and an early night. At breakfast, I arrived in the dining room at the advertised opening time and then waited for 30 minutes until the staff arrived. I then had to wait 15 minutes until an omelette was cooked. Whilst the staff were always apologetic and genuinely tried to be helpful, there is just something fundamentally wrong with this hotel. At USD$45 in remote Cambodia, I expected much more. I will be staying at $20 guesthouses in future.

Be warned; staff will come into your room at any time without knocking. I stayed one night and this happened twice (once when I was changing) while I was in the room! Maybe more when I was out. Front desk didn't seem to think this was an issue-didnt even appolgize. If you stay here always put the chain on and be wary of your valueables.

2nd time round here, need I say more?”

So of all the hotels and guest houses there are in this far flung part of Cambodia, this would be the best bet in terms of cleanliness and the standards of facilities available in good working condition. Ample parking space. Breakfast is customized. The swimming pool is clean and refreshing, the grounds well kept, staff are helpful and professional. When in Preah Vihear Province I only have two places of preference to stay at and this hotel is one of it. Stay 2 nights if you have the time, it will be well worth the spend.
