We were very comfortable at Himeville Arms, the breakfasts were very nice. We were playing tennis across the road for two days so convenient staying across the road.

Strange experience”
On arrival, reception not sure of our booking or if we had paid in full. Had to show them confirmation on cell phone. Allocated room, got there, two single beds, we requested double. My wife sat on bed and it collapsed. Bed side light not working, no plug hole for plug. After consulting reception we were allocated another room, no 9. This was cool, a proper shower would have been nice. Amends was made the following evening when management presented us with an anniversary cake and a bottle of wine. The fish and chips, first night, chicken the second night, great, waitress friendly and helpful. Wine list good, would be great to have a few mainline labels available at a fair price

An old world hotel with fair rooms and fair food. Nothing exceptionally good, nothing very bad. The Sunday night dinner was ready by 3pm and sat in the warmers till we came and ate at 6pm, by which time the roast was overdone and a bit dry, as was the mutton curry. However, the curry was tasty and the vegetables passable. The building can do with a bit of a "spruce me up". Maybe my expectations were a bit high, from the reputation the Hotel had in the past.

Very conveniently situated with an old world charm about the place. Lovely pub with fireplace. Bedrooms good. The disappointing aspect was the staff - the pub was run by staff who were not really interested. Management were not around and knowledge of food and the availability of items on the menu was bad. However once the food arrived it was tasty. Poorly run I would say - great potential but sadly not an advert for this Hotel Group.

Room clean and staff helpful. Some more than others. Very nice pub and patrons usually friendly. Been for lunch only and food was mediocre, service very slow and staff sometimes not well trained as they got the order wrong. This trip was a sleep over and staff were helpful and pleasant.

Dated Dissapointment”
The hotel room was so noisy we could not get any sleep the first night. The food is overpriced and the service was questionable at best. The staff are all pleasant, but that’s not what you pay for, that’s just a good byproduct. I booked 7 rooms and can honestly say I won’t be back.

Old world charm near the Drakensburg mountains... Great atmosphere in the lounge and dining areas However the place is badly managed, with staff who know very little and take limited responsibility for things that go wrong... eg, no internet connection, run out of vegetables in the kitchen and so on. Bathrooms need a full revamp as the shower over the bath, (without a shower curtain), is very old fashioned and impractical. The bar area also needs a full make over. This place has enormous potential if money and expertise were invested in it.

Don’t stay here ”
We were booked in at this hotel but when we arrived we were the only guests. The first room we saw did not look clean and we were shown another which we reluctantly accepted; we were advised that “there might not be any water”. There was one towel for the 2 of us until we asked for more. On entering the cracked shower the hot tap worked but the cold didn’t.. after waiting 15 minutes for someone to come to look at it, we checked out & went elsewhere. The lady on reception tried her very best but the “hotel” needs a complete refurb!

Great place to have a rest. The bedroom and bathroom was clean and tidy. The fireplace was great and we had a nice cozy sleep.

They were busy with renovations while people were checked in which should've been done during the quiet season and only 3 rooms had televisions. Pool was filled with frogs and not cleaned. Rooms didn't have a microwave and fridge which is a huge let down.

Küche: Kleine Karte, Essen und Bedienung waren sehr gut. Empfang: Unfreundlich. Zimmer: Kein Wifi, kein TV, auf Nachfrage bei der Rezeption nur unbefriedigte Antwort "geht nicht", keine Versuche es zu verbessern. NIE WIEDER!

Vergane Glorie”
Op een mooie locatie in het rustige Himeville biedt dit hotel een mooie uitvalsbasis voor de Sani Pass tour. Het hotel valt onder de categorie ‘vergane glorie’, maar heeft zijn charme nog niet verloren. Personeel is helaas niet goed in gewerkt, waardoor het erg lang duurt voordat je bent ingecheckt, je maaltijd krijgt of zelfs de rekening of wisselgeld ontvangt. Kamers zijn erg ruim en schoon en zijn ‘warm’. Hebben zelfs een soort woonkamer met open haard. Ontbijt is ‘basic’, maar o.k. Voor het avondeten geldt hetzelfde.
