Bali is A Favorite for Indonesian Family Trips

Bali tops vacation destinations with family, away from the hustle and bustle of the capital city.

Bali is the most popular destination for Indonesian families looking to enjoy a domestic vacation together. Based on early 2023 search data from digital travel platform Agoda, Bali tops the list, followed by Bandung and Yogyakarta.

According to Agoda’s search data, Bali, which ranked 9th in global family travel destinations takes first place among Indonesian travelers, followed by Bandung and Yogyakarta, while Jakarta was in fourth position.

Agoda’s Family Travel Trend Survey, which polled over 14,000 family travelers from 12 markets globally, found that the top three family attractions were visiting landmarks, spending time at the beach, and enjoying a fun day at theme or amusement parks.

Bali ticks the boxes for landmarks and beaches. From the artists and writers of the 1930s to the Eat, Pray, Love tours that have become so popular, Bali has drawn a hoard of foreign visitors to its shores. From the tropical beaches, the exotic atmosphere, or the friendly locals, the island of the gods always seems to capture people’s hearts.
