During the first days after the visa relaxation announcement, the most popular search destinations in Thailand among travelers from Taiwan were Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Phuket, and Hua Hin / Cha-am respectively.

The kingdom’s capital city, Bangkok, is in first place. The city is known for its rich religious and cultural diversity, as well as a stark contrast between the old and new urban landscapes. Whether with temples, shopping malls or rooftop bars, Bangkok offers a wide array of experiences, allowing visitors to fully indulge in Thailand’s traditional culture and contemporary urban vibes.

The second place is secured by Chiang Mai, renowned as the “Rose of the North.” Chiang Mai takes pride in its abundant historical and cultural heritage, featuring the famous temples of Wat Phra Singh, Wat Phra Chao, and Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, each carrying a profound history and religious significance. Travelers can soak in the serene atmosphere and experience the charm of religion and tradition in this unique city.

Apart from major cities, coastal destinations like Pattaya, Phuket, and Hua Hin / Cha-am have also made it to the ranking. Pattaya and Phuket are highly popular among international travelers, offering abundant sunshine, sandy beaches, vibrant nightlife, and great value seaside resorts. Visitors can enjoy a variety of water activities and theme parks, ensuring that water enthusiasts won’t find a dull moment.

Hua Hin, known as the royal summer retreat for the Thai monarchy, is an emerging destination, while adjacent Cha-am is an essential stop on the way to Hua Hin. Many travelers plan a day trip from Hua Hin to Cha-am, where to explore and make wishes in the natural heart-shaped limestone caves of Tham Khao Luang and take the cable car to Khao Wong for stunning views of Phetchaburi Province. Alternatively, they can also visit the Santorini Park in Hua Hin, where a strong Greek ambiance creates the illusion of being in Greece. There are also numerous attractions suitable for people of all ages, making it an ideal destination for families, couples, and travelers of all kinds.

With the visa-free travel option, Taiwanese travellers can now enjoy their Thai adventure without the hassle of obtaining a visa saving both time and money.
