Agoda becomes first to launch digital quarantine packages in the Philippines

Filipinos travelling back home, or domestically inter-bubble can now l book quarantine packages at 120+ hotels in the Philippines on Agoda’s digital travel platform. Agoda has launched similar alternative state quarantine packages successfully in Thailand in collaboration with the Thai Government in 2020, listing 95+ hotels across three cities in the country, and in Hong Kong in early 2021.

Starting 10th May, Agoda will automate the booking process for travelers to and within the Philippines, bringing benefits to both participating hoteliers and travelers, by simplifying the search and booking process on one easily accessible platform. The Agoda quarantine packages in the Philippines comply with the requirements of the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) and provide access to approved hotel types like isolation facilities, suitable for Covid-19 positive guests as well as quarantine rooms, including options consisting of airport transfer and all meals of the day within the package. The listed quarantine properties on the platform include those in Manila, Cebu, Angeles, Batangas and Cavite.

With over 120+ hotels to choose from, returning inbound Filipinos, inter-bubble domestic travelers who are required to complete a mandatory 14-day quarantine, with the first 10days completed in a quarantine facility, with the remainder to be at home, as well as people who would like to self-isolate to protect their families, will be able to search for and book DOT-approved quarantine properties via a dedicated booking platform (https://www.agoda.com/en-gb/quarantineph). The dedicated link allows travelers to search availability, room type, and pricing in real-time. Quarantine hotel package bookings are required as part of the process to obtain approval from the local Philippines embassies as well as comply with airline requirements before booking their trip.

“Whether you are travelling back home or isolating to protect your family, we are able to offer an easy, convenient way to search and compare quarantine packages.” said Enric Casals,

Using our technology we are able make the quarantine experience accessible to travelers, complying with local authority requirements. Through collaboration with our partners, governments and tourism authorities we aim to deliver solutions that help the travelling public to cost-effectively and safely return home.” said Enric Casals, Regional Director of Southeast Asia and Oceania.

The digital booking platform for Agoda Quarantine Packages is now live (https://www.agoda.com/en-gb/quarantineph), with more property options expected to join the program in the coming months.
