Agoda Reveals Taiwan’s Favorite Cities for Family Travel

Digital travel platform Agoda reveals Taiwan’s Top five favorite cities for family travel. In Taiwan, Taichung, which has many parent-child attractions, won the top spot. In terms of international cities, four of the top five cities are in Japan with Tokyo ranking first.

Taichung is Taiwan’s favorite search destination for domestic family travel. With its diverse attractions, ranging from sightseeing highlights to shopping malls, Taichung is guaranteed to meet the needs of different family members and their travel needs. When Taiwanese families travel abroad, Tokyo is the top pick. The many theme parks in and around the Japanese capital are sure to spark joy across generations.
The popularity of sightseeing and theme parks also shows in Agoda’s Family Travel Trend Survey, which polled over 14,000 family travelers from 12 markets globally. The survey found that the top three family attractions were visiting landmarks, spending time at the beach, and enjoying a fun day at a theme or amusement park.
“Families are taking advantage of the school breaks to spend quality time on trips together. And when traveling abroad with the family, Japan in particular is where Taiwanese are looking to go. Closer to home Taichung with its laid-back vibe and vibrant art scene is appealing to family travelers this year” said David Chi, Country Director Taiwan at Agoda. “Planning vacations with large groups across different age groups and budgets can be a challenge.
