Thank you from St Louis couple”

The Prestige Oceanfront was everything plus what we expected. Ryan at the front desk set the tone upon our arrival. He was courteous and professional. He gave us great recommendations on things to see and do around Sooke. The ladies in the bar were fun and also had recommendations on where to go about town. We spent hours drinking local craft beers and sharing stories with them. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, and very clean. Beautiful, peaceful resort on the water and marina. We’ll be back. Location is good”

This hotel seems like it may have new management. A few things say Best Western but it is now run by Prestige Hotels. We are pretty upset that we paid for a "balcony" and actually it was a public deck that ran by the restaurant, lobby and a series of rooms. No fridge in the room. The front desk was unattended 3 of 4 times on the first day we were there with no staff anywhere. The coffee bar that was supposed to be open most of the day was closed by noon. The whole hotel seemed unusually deserted. Parking was easy. The view was nice. The hot tub was great. It is quite a tedious drive out to Sooke as you are never really on a highway, just driving through suburbs and towns for a long hour to anywhere. Because of rain we had to drive to Buschart gardens on the day we just planned to rest in Sooke, so the driving was a lot more than expected.

Disappointed”

We found the resort to be clean and the staff polite. It has a nice outlook, and close enough to Sooke to walk. Our only compliant really, and for us is a significant issue, is that whilst it is ideal for a wedding, that is the problem. The hotel is perfect for a wedding, and when this occurs a significant portion of the grounds become 'off limit' for paying hotel guests. We were there only 3 days, and on our second day, the main part of the hotel was closed off from 12 to 6 pm. The hotel has not a lot of outdoor seating and when this was closed off to all but the wedding, it left us with literally no where to sit out and enjoy the sun. We ended up getting into our car and driving to another site. We were turned away at several entry points into the hotel ' sorry sir, this area is for the wedding', ' sorry, can you please enter the hotel from another entrance' ' sorry but you cannot get to the pool via this route, it is reserved for the wedding' . It made us feel like second class.

We were only there for one night. It was our biking destination from Victoria to Sooke. We didn't have time to take advantage of the many facilities, but did eat in the restaurant. It was a spectacular dinner. Laura was a delightful server, the food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. All this was framed with a beautiful view.

Sooke vacay”

First time ever there in this small town. With the recent situation of Covid 19 we wanted to go away but some where with less ppl and still have something for kids to do. We didn’t want to sit in the hotel all day. Place upon arriving was beautiful, hotel is clean and comfortable. Check in was good and right up to the room. Room was a good size. With everything a family would need. Microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Deck tho was what really got us. Huge and beautiful. View was best I would say at the hotel. We were put in a room right at the Center of the hotel with ocean views. Food is yummy and staff weee great. We will be back next year

Weekend getaway”

This hotel reminded us of the Disney Boardwalk but a little toned down. Overall, it was a very pleasant place to be in. Make sure u ask for room with the water view or balcony on the main level. Some rooms you can sit outside on the balcony to enjoy the water view.

a very pleasant stay”

excellent hotel with very confortable bedding. Perfect location on the bay. Ideal to have a good rest. The swimming pool is very welcome with a hot tube to have both cold and warm baths. The staff is very friendly and not too present which makes the stay in this hotel nice, pleasant and calm. The buffet on Sunday was OK for $21.95 but don't go around noon otherwise you may not find everything.

The outdoor spaces were nice and the rooms were suitable. We chose the hotel mainly because of the pool, which was murky and small. The children enjoyed it anyway.

Not a premium experience”

We booked this as it was on sale, and we expected a premium experience as it was almost $300 for the night. While parts of the hotel look the part, such as the lobby, the remainder leaves much to be desired. There wasn't any hotel parking, so we had to park and walk from the street. We also requested swapping the two queens for a single king and staff wouldn't approve the upgrade unless we paid an additional room fee, even though it was available and empty. Staff are expected to go above and beyond at a place like this - here they couldn't be bothered that we were staying on property. The pool was filthy and there was mold on the roof. The only saving grace for this place was the dinner at the west coast grill where all the staff were friendly and welcoming. We will never stay here again. The price would have to be cut in half to even be worth the value for money.

Peaceful”

While the hotel was nice, it was a bit far from main attractions- Victoria. The food was excellent as well as the servers at the Grill - outdoor seating. The bed was very comfortable. The extra tv in the bathroom was cute but kind of unnecessary. Overall, not really impressive decor in the room but functional. Also, parking seemed limited. The grounds were very pretty. Would have been nice to have beach access. The firepits with chairs were a nice touch. Overall, relaxing visit.

Above average”

Good location on the water with a nice view. The staff at the desk and house keeping are weak. Room was never cleaned even after calling to have it cleaned and the bed made up and they didn't care. House keeping is under staffed and didn't worry to come by tell 5:15 pm offering clean towels. I don't think they ever intended to clean the room. The staff in the dinning room was friendly and helpful telling us about the area and what to do. Had a tasty smoked salmon sandwich for lunch.

Birthday Get-Away”

For the money, I'd stick to going up to a place like Tigh-Na-Mara or The Old House in Courtenay. This place is not great: - The rooms are basic and could use an extra chair and or table to work on. - The pool was cloudy and there was no seating in the pool area. Rust on the doors (looked run down). - There is no nice place to walk -- walking on the highway to get to town seems sketchy at best. - The staff were awkward, not overly helpful or friendly. It looks "grand" from the outside but looks are deceiving.
