Perfect Solution For Holiday Stay”
My wife brought her mother to Chiang Mai to enjoy the Loy Krathong festival there for the first time. We needed 2 rooms near the parade route. I was hesitant to book this hotel because of some of the reviews. In the end, the location and the price won out. I was not disappointed. The manager turned our two bookings for two rooms into one booking for a two-bedroom apartment. Each bedroom had its own facilities. And there was a kitchen / living room between the two bedrooms. Everything worked out very well. A note about the reviews. This is an older hotel, and many other reviews reflect this. The room(s) we stayed in were very spacious, especially for a hotel in a central location. And especially for the rates we paid. During the Loy Krathong festival, other hotels charged double or triple their normal rates. This older hotel stuck with older rates. It is with that perspective - that we got way more than we expected - that I rate this property so highly. And yes, I would gladly book this hotel again
Prince Hotel is one of the oldest modern style hotels still operating in the town. During the years I have stayed plenty of times in Prince and I have no complaints at all - rather opposite. Prince is not a small hotel by any means but it has a cozy and nice feeling. There is a nice pool area and a small park at the inner yard between the two hotel buildings. It usually never get crowded or busy at the premises which is nice if you are looking for peaceful place in the heart of Chiang Mai. Smallish streets around the hotel are perfect for walking and the location is very good to reach Chiang Mai's major attractions (like Thapae Gate, Old Town, China Town market etc.) by foot. Prince hotel has newly renovated rooms in it's main building. It seems the second building is still going under some construction work but during our stay we were not distracted by the work. Hotel is ideal for people who are looking for a basic yet peaceful place that is well located in CM.
Spacious, good location, and friendly”
I stayed 3 nights at Prince Hotel while my friend showed me around Chiang Mai during Songkran festival. It was a very busy time but we managed to see many sights, walk the lovely town, and do a couple of tours (while not getting too getting wet.) I would highly recommend Prince Hotel to all visitors.
very good hotel”
we stay here at loy krathong ! very helpful and friendly lady on reseption - we (4 people)rent own song thaew with friendly driver, visit wat doi suthep and bo sang and san kampheng for shopping !! our rooms with bathroom are very clean, breakfast good and enough !! swimmingpool is very clean and big, wo we could swimm !! next time we will stay at prince hotel again
Clean, safe, good location”
the prince hotel is within walking distance of the day market, flower market, and thapae gate for the sunday market, as well as the night bazaar. it's a ten minute ride to the central airport mall. the front desk staff is very helpful in arranging tours and giving directions, and writing words in thai for you. the rooms have large windows with screens, as well as ac. the pool isn't huge, but large enough to get some exercise, and very clean. the pool area is quite nice, with many places to sit in the shade and eat or read.
Very nice place”
i stayed at prince hotel for 3 nights. the reception staff, driver and concierge were all very friendly and caring (thanks ae,mr.tuy and all other staff members). the rooms are old,yet cleaned daily and the ameneties are all working just fine. the hotel is placed in a very quiet area and access to all city sights is easy and economical. a great value for money, yet if you plan on splurging or pampering unit,it might not be the answer to your wishes. i enjoyed it very much and will certainly come back again.
Spacious rooms, big swimming pool, little outdated”
We were satisfied with our stay at the Prince Hotel. However, without the discount, the rooms may be a little overpriced. The hotel is outdated and can use a make-over. A disadvantage of the big swimming pool is that it is situated near a shabby guesthouse which attracts some strange visitors. The hotel is located in between the busy tourist areas and is a good choice when you are looking for some rest.
Delivered as promised”
We were initially very pleased with the friendliness of the staff and remained happy with it. They answered every question we asked fully and there was English spoken. The hotel was easily a ten minute walk to the Consulate I needed go to. That was my goal in selecting a hotel on this trip. I'd return to the Prince Hotel for that reason alone. It is clearly stated the Prince is a budget hotel and I'm sure in it's day it was a very very nice place. There's nothing wrong with the hotel in my opinion.
Old hotel satisfying basic needs. ”
book the prince if you prefer not to be in the center of all the business and hype. the location was good for us as it was in between the night bazaar and old city and it only cost about baht one way to those locations. we stayed in the deluxe room which had all basic features - spacious, good aircon, english tv channels and decent wifi. you could tell that nothing had been updated for a while and if they did renovate the place could be quite stunning. reception was very helpful and the main girl kim had good english and was very informative. it was a good stay overall, definitely worth what we paid and i am happy.
Dated decor, old building but a nice place to stay”
We stayed here 3 times although the hotel is old and worn out there was something nice about the place. It's a 20 minute walk to Tha Phae Gate but a really nice walk. There was a tuk tuk outside the front door always for guests which was really convenient. They have a huge pool and outdoor bar. New and fast elevator. The rooms were large and the TV was old. The bed was the biggest bed I've ever slept in. You could have slept 10 people in it no problem. There was a huge balcony over looking the pool but you have to climb through a window to access it which wasn't to hard. The Bathroom had stains in the ceramics but it was actually clean. The best thing was the high speed WIFI connection. We could stream Netflix in HD no problem.
Great Hotel in good location”
Have stayed here before and still find it a convenient hotel to all of down-town Chiang Mai. Very easy to walk to the main attractions and if not walking, then very cheap to take a local tuk-tuk. Hotel is quiet and very reasonalbly priced.
Love this hotel! ”
My favorite hotel in Chiang Mai. Close to markets and all amenities. Wonderful staff and management. Clean swimming pool. 5 Stars!
Nice, clean, and serene. You can rent a motorcycle here and take advantage of the pool and pagoda. Nothing high-tech but you have access to wi-fi good enough to watch youtube on and some of the rooms come with newer TV sets. The staff have fulfilled every request in a timely fashion and seem like good people in general. The price is well worth it for the service and location, which is within walking distance of Tha Pae Gate.
a nice comfortable dump”
the hotel is old and rather dreary. the water pressure in the shower was not great. what i liked best about the hotel was the spaciousness of the lobby, the room and the recreational areas. the price was right. it is a good hotel to use as a base in chiang mai but if you are the kind of person who likes to live in luxurious surroundings, you won't be happy at the prince. the nearby restaurants are awful and rundown.
Worth your money”
Overall my stay there are pleasent, polite and helpful staffs,It is near to the China Town of Chiang Mai,The Ta Pae Gate and not far from bookstore, food store, luandry and all kinds of shops. The pool side cafe is a great place to read paper and drink coffee.
The hotel room is very spacious. Hotel staffs were all very friendly and helpful. They will advise us where and how to travel to the places we would like to go. One incident which we would like to highlight is the honesty of one of the lady from housekeeping... My mother didn't realized that she had dropped her diamond earring in the room. We went out as per normal in the morning and when we came back, we saw the earring on the dressing table. The housekeeper found it in the room and was honest enough to leave it on the dressing table. We were so thankful for her honesty. The restaurant staffs we also very helpful and they will go way out to prepare bfast for you to your liking. And we were even offered by one of the staff to pick us up from a massage place and was willing to drive us elsewhere to buy some dinner back. I happened to see a group of travelers going for their tour and some of the group members woke up late so they didn't manage to catch a bite. But the staff we nice enough to get them some packed food to bring along. The only complains we had is the maintainance of the toilet, it is a little run down.
Old style hotel with large rooms, under renovation”
I have stayed at the Prince a number of times over the last 30 years and always return for the personal service, big rooms, great view (from top floor), fantastic location, memories from days gone by, and you can't beat the price (unless you like sleeping in a broom closet).
stay here every time in Chiang Mai.”
miss the prince💔 awesome pool, near market, 15 mins Sunday night market, comfy beds... what more can i ask for?
Charming Hotel! Desk staff very helpful.”
For the price paid this was a good hotel. The room was adequate and clean, the foyer is large and cool and furnished with lots of interesting olde worlde style furniture and comfy seating. The breakfast was a fairly standard hotel buffet breakfast. OK, but nothing to write home about! The coffee is good though! Once you get your bearings the location is also OK. It is walkable to the walled part of the city and the Sunday night walking market. It is also very close to Chinatown where the Waroros indoor market is well worth a visit.
Classy old hotel”
I had passed the hotel a hundred times while living in Chiang mai .First time in it , it is a classy old hotel , large rooms and nice pool.
