    Great Value for Money”

    Affordable, Easily accessible, Helpful Staff

Since there are many attractions in Amsterdam, you would be spending most of your time within the city center itself. All you would need is a bed to sleep in and a washroom to clean yourself and this is what Princess Hostel has. The space is rather small and can be claustrophobic, but like I mentioned earlier, you wouldn't be spending too much time in the hostel. The hostel is very affordable to a backpacker.

Good location, lots of amenities nearby”

The Princess Hostel is in a good location. Its about 15-30 mins walk to the best bars and cafes. My room was basic but it was fine. i was in a single room with a key card lock. The bed was comfortable. The shared bathrooms were a little unclean but I think that is what you get with shared bathrooms in a hostel.

    Great location and specific staff”

Location is in walking distance to vondel Park and inner city. Cleanliness is ok, though the place is a bit run down. Staff is either amazing (Spanish guy (sorry forgot your name) and Chris (night shift)) okay in a helpful yet uninterested manner. I’ve made wonderful human connections with my room mates there, which was awesome. Unforgettable memories and a fun time will always be tied to my stay at the princess hostel Amsterdam. Thanks!

    Price, Location, Cozy

The first room I was assigned was a little messy, but I had to be switched to a new room, and it was much cosier :) I believe the room I got was the cheapest currently available in Amsterdam, so all in all, no complaints :)

    Basic, basic, basic”

The Princess Hostel was a less than satisfactory experience. For the cost of the one bedroom I would have thought more would be provided than a chair and a bed with a slidey mattress & thin bedding. The floor was only lightly vacuumed where noticible and the one large window would not close, an important factor considering the room faced onto a main road. The TV, although working, was only set to Dutch terrestrial but luckily the WiFi is speedy enough for Netflix, etc.. Accessibility was with a key card (one euro deposit on booking in) which was, admittedly, easier to carry around than keys. The shared facilities were clean enough but whose idea was it to house shower and toilet in the same small cupboard. Wet floor and the hazards encountered were more from lazy guests but try to use the loo and you have to battle the protruding sink and a wonky toilet seat. The staff were mostly friendly, the cleaning staff, but the desk staff were aloof, unfriendly and somewhat patronising.

    OK”

For the price, it was ok considering this is Amsterdam. I had a private room with double bed. However, a few minor changes would greatly improve this budget hotel such as - properly cleaning the toilets at least twice a day. I used a piece of the toilet paper and cleaning spray I found in the toilet, and within 1 minute the toilet was instantly a lot cleaner - the staff paid to do this could do the same. Fix the showers so there is hot water. I had a freezing cold shower one morning, which was actually quite enjoyable in a surprising way (good for the skin), however, hot water needs to be available in a hotel, even though a cold shower is in fact better your body :)

Clean and nice place to sleep”

The room is clean and tidy, not really big room. Our room located in lower ground with a small window There is tea and coffee provided in lobby. On the first day , the AC was not working, the staff provided a fan. It was fix during the second day. It is not located in center of AMS but the tram station is nearby, ~3min walk. I feel safe to walk around the hotel at night . The wifi signal is not strong and fast enough, almost no wifi.

great price, bed was clean, great location

My boyfriend and I stayed in a 4 bed dorm which was amazing value. The bed had clean sheets, the showers and toilet had been cleaned recently and location was amazing. Don't expect too much at this price and you will be fine. Note there was really steep stairs up to the dorm so if you have poor mobility I wouldn't recommend.

This is the cheapest hotel that you can find in the city center of Amsterdam. However, it is totally not recommended if you are bringing heavy luggage as there is no elevator as well as only narrow stairs available.

    Ok for budget days”

The night I booked it was so cheap so can't complain. Dorm room quite small but stayable, kitchen is small but somehow has almost everything, just not oven. Bed and linens are away from white washed, just pray that it's ok. Staff are nice enough I think. The place is small but to my experience, it's easier to meet and talk people, and this was so. Met nice people here.

    Unclean but does the job”

The hostel is located very well, close to Vondelpark and very regular tram service close by but I’m not sure how the hostel passes hygiene inspections. The toilet on our floor never worked, nor was it ever fixed for our 3 night stay. The showers were blocked everyday and had visible moulde and grime on them -bring sandals/flipflops to shower. Our room was private but no better or bigger than the dorms so probably wouldn’t have bothered paying more. There is no air conditioning and the rooms are really poorly ventilated to get any air in or out. We didn’t care about the decor as it was what we expected, it just seems your money doesn’t go very far for central accommodation in Amsterdam. I wouldn’t stay again but we were barely at the hotel.

The cheapest one if you're in Amsterdam in a very tight budget”

Only two things I like: the location and the price. The rest are awful. The room is not clean, nor the shower rooms and toilets. The kitchen is very very small with only one chair to sit and without any table for eating. The fact that you will share the cooking table with the receptionist is just very very uncomfortable for those who aim to cook. As the rooms are right beside the 24/7 busy roads, it is impossible to expect "sleeping in peace", it's very very noisy. But yeah, that's the trade-off for paying the cheapest hostel. The choice is yours.

    Very unorganised and dirty”

Despite good location, the hostel is mostly left uncared by staffs. The rooms and balconies were consisted of small garbage/trash from prior customers or the employees themselves. The sleep wares provided are satisfiable, but the top bed I stayed was without side steel guard that prevent unfortunate falls. Kitchen, although there is one, is extremely small that it can only fit around three people at a time. Overall, it is one hotel that is good value for the money mostly benefited from a goodnlocation. However, the facilities could be better overlooked by more active and service minded staffs.
