“Just terrible”
Booked overnight stay for NYE. It’s more than triple the usual price but it’s still cheaper than most hotel/hostels proximate to where I really wanted to stay but it still doesn’t justify its price. It’s not worth it at all! I wanted to leave and book another place the moment I checked in but there’s no other option below 200£ so I stayed the night and it was the worst experience I had in a hostel. The room looks different from the ones that are posted. The toilets are terrible, some locks aren’t even working. The room is so small (I know it’s a hostel but I’ve stayed in multiple hostels so I know which is acceptable and which is not and this one is really small with very little room to move) and some lockers you cannot lock. The towel that I rent for more than 5€ looks like a face towel. I can bear with the noise from the public transpo but the noise outside, OMG! people won’t stop talking in the reception. area. They don’t have any common room where you can stay and chat all you want or even fridge to put food/drinks in so not really worth booking for, not even for a night. There’s some bed bugs, I found one crawling in my bag that I put in the bed, and that bag is new btw. The one who was on night duty kept on entering our room, and didn’t even bother to knock. He just kept on going back and forth, putting the lights on asking us if we are really booked in that place as there’s one person checking in late that needs a bed but the hostel is full, like hello? it’s 3am and I just want to sleep after the nye party. It’s already uncomfortable for me to stay there, at least let me sleep but no, he decided he can just enter back and forth. Saying he’s sorry for doing that doesn’t mean anything at all. At least knock before you enter! Privacy doesn’t seem like it existed in there. To be fair the one who was there when I check in is nice and the location is not too bad as it’s literally in front of the tram stop. It’s just the property itself, even if it’ll only cost 5£ or even if it’s free, I will never stay in there again. It’s really terrible
