The room was comfortable and value for money, we booked very last minute, therefore our options were limited but we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly, the bed and pillow was super soft and comfortable. Overall it was good.

Unfair treatment ”
We got to the hotel earlier than 2pm and requested to be checked in and the gentleman said he would make a plan. It took him an hour to get us sorted the guest that arrived later after us were checked-in in 5mins and they were also earlier than the stipulated time (2pm) Seems like there are some guests that are more respected than others.

close to the airport with friendly staff”
The Protea Hotel Tyger Valley is a very convenient hotel. it is about 10kms from the airport. The reception desk went out of their way to arrange transfers at very odd times. I would definitely stay here again, should i need to be close to the airport.

Lovely hotel and awesome service”
Totally loved our stay!!! :) We were received by great staff with smiles on their faces and were so helpful to us as this was our first time in Cape Town. Our room was cosy and extremly comfortable and very clean. Even though the hotel is next to the N1 it is not noisy at all and the scenery from the hotel is just beautiful.

Clean and friendly hotel in pleasant area”
we chose this hotel on our last day because it appeared clean, affordable and near the airport. it met all these conditions. signs to the airport are easily followed from nr2 (i believe) and it took us about 15 minutes to get there by car in the early morning. the hotel rooms are clean, normal to spacious sized with all standard amenities. staff was friendly. the area is pleasant although not a site in itself. cape town took about 25-30 minutes to visit.

when we booked the hotel, our major worry was the fact that the hotel was near the highway. amazingly we never had any worries with noise. the hotel staff were amazing, always helpful, we had no qualms about requesting anything. the hotel was near all the amenities we needed and it definitely helped create a holiday to remember. we had a fabulous time.

I loved the fact that we could check in very late as the information given to me was incorrect. I was at a dinner party anf asked my partner to check us in prior to that i called the hotel and ssked if he can check us in or if i needed to come i was advised he need to bring his id and he can check in which was mot the case when he arrived as they needed my id. Other then that it was an amazing experience i loved the spacious showers.

Clean & comfortable. Staff were friendly & helpful. It would have been nice to have some drawer space in the room. There was not 1 drawer. It was very good having a safe in the room which did not have to be paid for. We were charged for parking the car on a daily rate which surpised us but it was not all that much. Also we were taken aback by the price of a continental breakfast which was only 10 rand (less than £1) less than a full beakfast. Breakfast was relatively expensive by South African prices.

Room in noisy location”
the room was set on the side of the motorway and this caused a lot of noise at night resulting in a very disturbed nights sleep. not good especially if you have a huge day the next day. but otherwise i think it was a lovely hotel with all one could desire and well situated.
