Good size rooms as convenient location”
The Prudential Hotel is literally built on top of the Jordan MTR station, so access is fairly easy through a series of escalators, but be aware if you slug around heavy luggage, there are a few steps here and there that are not automated. Also there is a bus stop right upfront with dozens of bus lines listed. The hotel presently is undergoing some renovation works, but there was no disturbing noise to be noticed in the room, and what room these are. Unlike many of the super crammed hotel rooms in Hong Kong rooms here are fairly spacious with a stylish chaise-longue that incorporates the minibar. WiFi is available in all rooms, but you will pay a hefty price for it and DO NOT pay for the regular access, it is Precambrian periodic slow. 3G is even more costly and whilst I didn't try it out, I assume data speed should be fine. Great thing besides the room size and easy of access to public transport is the fact that Jordan is packed with local, reasonably priced eateries. Bon Appetit!
Our room was very clean”
As Hong Kong is known for it's transportation system which makes life so convenient moving around the city, Prudential Hotel has one of the best location- it's above Jordan MTR and in a mall. Bus stops are found just outside the hotel by the road. Taxis are everywhere too. Shopping malls and shops are few steps away and are found along the road. Prudential Hotel is also good for families with young kids and or older kids who like swimming, and the convenience of shopping, dining late at night and watching movies together due to it's location. Staying in hotels or places, clean is a high priority for our family. Looking at the hotel online, I was reluctant at first booking this hotel, but I was surprised how clean our room was. Housekeeping service is excellent during our stay Value for money is so worth it even if you just stay to sleep when you're tired walking around and don't have to enjoy the hotel amenities. Thank you Prudential Hotel for a comfortable stay.
Great location and price”
A rather large hotel and my second stay here in four months. Located conveniently on Nathan Road right above the Jordan MTR station. Also near the bus shuttle stop to Kowloon station for the Airport Express Train and the A21 Bus to the airport. Temple Street night market was a mere seven minute walk. The rooms were spacious by Hong Kong standard and relatively inexpensive depending on the time of year. A great deal if it's below $100 USD, but much more expensive during high season. So book in advance to lock in cheaper rate. Bathroom appeared to have been recently updated, but the furniture seem a bit dated but not a big deal. Comfortable, not hard bed. Free adequate wifi in my ninth floor room. Very busy lobby with people checking in and out, but was handled quickly and efficiently. Be prepared to surrender 500 HKD for room deposit either by credit card or cash. What I found that was a real nice touch was the free cell phone which allowed me to call the USA for free as well as making free local calls. Great for goggle map around HKG, and search. Also allowed me to access my email and provided me with a local HKG number of the phone. No need to purchase a HKG sim card. Did not use the swimming pool or ate at the hotel restaurant. Numerous restaurants within minutes from hotel, including a McDonalds a block away. Overall had a nice stay, but don't expect a five star hotel at these prices, the location is the best selling point of the Prudential Hotel. Bell person on the ground floor kept my luggage after my noon check out, and went out for lunch for a few hours. Came back to retrieve my bags, and he came to immediate attention when I pulled out a tip to help me take it to the sidewalk. Guess they're not used to being tipped.
great location,nice hotel”
the prudential hotel is the hotel that i stay at all the time when i stay in hong kong. the location is ideal as it sits on top of the jordan mtr station. it's also centrally located on nathan road with shopping and restaurants on either side of the street. the rooms are clean and modern however they are small. the hotel is reasonably priced for hong kong hotels. my range is $usd and below a night. everywhere in hong kong is accessible by subway which is the main conveinence. taxi are expensive in hong kong and the subway makes an affordable way to explore hong kong. i give the hotel 5 stars and will stay there again everytime i come to hong kong.
Truly a great hotel property!!”
PRUDENTIAL HOTEL, IS BY FAR A WELL-LOCATED PROPERTY. THE FACT THAT IT IS POSITIONED RIGHT ABOVE THE JORDAN MTR CONNECTION OF THE TSEUN WAN LINE IS AN EXTREMELY ADDED BONUS FOR THE PROPERTY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY FOR ITS GUESTS. THE HOTEL'S CONNECTION ALSO TO THE MALL JUST ADDS MORE CONVENIENCE FOR GUESTS. I RATE THIS HOTEL AND PROPERTY AT 9.0 FURTHER, I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A SPECIAL COMPLIMENT TO Mr. RAY THE FRONT DESK STAFF WHOM WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL FROM THE MOMENT I CHECKED IN, UNTIL I HAD CHECKED OUT!! MY SINCERE APPRECIATION TO HIM. I LOOK FORWARD TO MY NEXT TRIP TO HONG KONG, WHICH WILL ALSO BE MY NEXT STAY AT THE PRUDENTIAL HOTEL. IT WILL NOW ON BE MY HOTEL OF CHOICE WHEN STAYING IN HONG KONG - KOWLOON SIDE!!
Great Value Stay In Hong Kong From An Aussie!”
Overall very happy with the choice of this hotel in a superb location next to MTR Jordan transit station (across the road and down Nathan 50m, 3 line changes from airport and 45min to almost an hour travel time, depending on time of day. Anyone who travels through Hong Kong will agree that the public train system, MTR, is excellent, clean and efficient..it would put the London tube to shame! Rooms are clean and presentable ....all seem same size despite different booking levels...and wireless internet available in rooms for hourly charges or multiples of...a few dollars $Aus per hour is reasonable for this broadband service. There is a tiny gym on the floor below the rooftop pool (size of a large hotel room)- but the roof top pool is very much appreciated in some humid weather! The hotel is strategically placed about 1/2 hr walk from the Star Ferry terminal to the island, etc and Avenue of The Stars walk of fame along the Harbour front, with a pleasant modern cafe at the end. The famous Temple St night markets are just 10 min walk away..just leave the hotel, up Nathan, going North, left onto Jordan, another main road, and about the 3rd turning on the right of Jordan leads you to the market which carries on for a few streets in length, selling a wide variety of items. Here you will find large and smaller outdoor cafes - great for atmosphere and meal pricing...quite a buzz and safe for families also. They are keen to offer one a beer as a larger bottle appears..which can cost as much as one of the mains! All good value and fairly cheap. For anyone looking to buy genuine watches...not copies which are touted everywhere...and which are really illegal there...I managed to buy a Tag at 22% off pricing....for the genuine dealers pricing on these items is standard...just the level of discount that changes...all will offer 15% off if serious. Clothes in the market are cheaper but to be honest the pricing in the department stores would be similar to Australia or more in
Wonderful Hotel, in a perfect location in Kowloon”
The Prudential Hotel is really an excellent Hotel and, too, a great deal particularly if booked through agoda. The fact that it rests directly above the Jordan Subway Station, means easy access to any place in Hong Kong within minutes. Also, I would like to mention, the Hotel has a wonder Optical Shop - I needed a pair of glasses and looked in several different Optical Shops, but the one in the Hotel had an excellent selection, great prices, and the service was extraordinarily fast and of high quality.
A Cool Pleasant Stay”
It was usually cold in Hong Kong on 20 Nov and 21 Nov 09. But stay in Prudential Hotel was nice and cool. First of all, hotel was nicely located at above Jordon MTR and Prudential Shopping Centre. Location is also very accessible to shopping and eateries just across the road or even behind the hotel. How how about a bowl of pipping hot tasty porridge for breakfast or very tasty pot rice (with chicken and chinese sausage) for dinner in the cold of the night. Weather was cold but attitude/services of hotel staff was never cold. Friendly, warm from front desk, concierge to housekeeping. For example, upgrade to deluxe room without my asking, helpful tips from concierge and extra towel, pillow, tooth brush almost immediately attended to. Room, a little small but expected, was clean and tidy. Came with an LCD TV somemore. Swimming pool also very nice but weather too cold for a dip or laps. Weather however, turned for the better on Sunday 22 Nov 09. Nice, cool and not as cold. Which made our stay even more nice and cool.
Prudential hotel Kowloon”
The Prudential is a very well maintained and conveniently situated place to stay whilst visiting Kowloon. Although certainly not a 5 star establishment, something it never pretends to be. This hotel is clean, tidy and has all the facilities one should require whilst traveling in the Hong Kong area. The rooms are sizeable and have a congenial feel. There is no air of sterility that many hotels produce. The situation is very convenient. At 222 Nathan roads, it's part of vibrant Kowloon. A real bonus is the fact that Jordan MTR actually emerges in the Prudential's shopping plaza. When considering the reasonable room rates offered by the hotel, and the standard of accommodation compared to some of its competitors. This hotel is good value for money, and an all round pleasurable experience.
My stay at the Prudential Hotel was great. Check in was very easy although I arrived at the same time as quite a fewother people so we had to queue. My room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The view was not great over the rooftops of Hong Kong but it was a sunny bright room on the top floor. The staff were friendly and efficient with good English. One of the best points about the hotel is its position. Get off the MTR at Jordan and go straight up the escalators to the hotel lobby. No need to lug heavy suitcases along the street.
Great launch pad for all of Hong Kong”
We had the Executive Room which includes wifi in room and daily breakfast buffet. We stayed on the 15th floor which was very quiet. No street noise & little noise from the hallway. Staff was very professional and attentive. Room was quite comfortable and roomy enough even with our 4 checked bags & four hand-carried scattered about. Anyone who says room is small probably hasn't traveled much outside the US. Gym is tiny but has both aerobic & weight gear. Never saw anyone using it. Rooftop pool is clean. It's mostly built as a lap pool, but with kids playing around it might be hard to swim laps. I got a good deal on the breakfast buffet and VERY glad I didn't pay full price which would have been like US$16. It's worth maybe $6. Same 3 fruits each day, same selection of candied carrots, rice porridge, omelet with choice of the same 4 ingredients each day: Ham, cheese, onion & mushroom. Very uninspired bread choices, plus the same 2 cold cuts & cheese selections each day. Cold cereal, sausages, 2 kinds of dim sum and that's about it. They need to bring some fresh imagination to the concept of a hot breakfast buffet. You can enter the Jordan MTR station without going outside, which brings easy connection to all of Hong Kong. We took a taxi once to the Kowloon Star Ferry terminal and the fare was like US$3, very cheap. Although the neighborhood is good (right on Nathan Road) it was hard to find any restaurants we liked within walking distance. Some back alley noodle shops and an off-beat local chophouse were nearby. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurants. In the attached mall there is exactly one restaurant which has a large variety of budget food. However, this is Hong Kong so finding good food isn't hard. Just plan ahead & don't expect to walk outside to find 30 choices out the door. Our experience at Prudential was wonderful and this would be my top choice for a return trip. We are bringing the in-laws to HK next year & plan to stay here again. Great value, grea
Convenient Location, Good Service”
we stayed a total of 4 nights at prudential hotel. we had heard about the hotel from 2 friends and were glad to know that it was situated above jordan mtr station. on the whole, we enjoyed our stay. the location was convenient and the hotel staff (front desk and house keeping) were friendly and approachable. the rooms were also clean and decently sized. just a suggestion, the hotel may want to consider producing a map of eateries or cafes located within a 1 to 2 km radius to assist guests who are not travelling with tour group. it would also be good to have a more pro-active concierge taking initiative to speak to guests, rather than just sitting at the booth, absorbed in their own activities. a welcoming concierge who can recommend good eateries and sites to visit would certainly up the ante of the overall guest experience. otherwise, it was a good experience with prudential hotel and we would certainly consider staying at prudential in our subsequent visits to hong kong.
I recommend Prudential Hotel as a hotel with value for your money - particulary with its location and accessiblity (it's best assets). Our 3 night/4 day stay was truly great. It was very comfortable staying at the hotel and i'm particularly impressed with the good condition of the hotel and the cleanliness of the rooms. The next time I visit Hong Kong,I'll stay again in this hotel, and hopefully to extend my stay in HK as the city has a lot to offer for everyone,it's not just the Disneyland and shopping that lures tourists to visit Hong Kong but there are a lot of things, places that the city has to offer - it's history, culture and traditions. I surely recommend Prudential to my friends and relatives who plan to visit Hong Kong!
Lovely hotel conveniently located above the MTR”
We enjoyed our stay at the Prudential Hotel very much. The location was excellent - right above Jordan MTR. This saved us much walking when returning to the hotel after a day of sightseeing and exploring Hong Kong. The rooms were clean and tidy, and more spacious than the average Hong Kong hotel. Hotel staff were also very helpful, offering us directions when we asked. The only complaint was that the bed was a little too hard for our taste. Still, we had a comfortable stay and were quite unwilling to leave on our last day.
Stay at Prudential Hotel”
We spent 3 nights at Prudential Hotel and had a rather pleasant experience. The room is quite modern and spacious. It is located right above Jordan MTR station, which is very accessible to many attractions and shopping areas such as Temple Street and Mong Kok. However, the lobby is located above a few floors of shops and the rooms are only accessible from the lobby. Hence, when the shops are closed at night and the escalator stop working, we had to climb a few flights of stairs to reach the lobby. We were also impressed with the hygiene standards of the hotel, which sanitised the lift every one hour and alcohol based hand soap is provided at the lift entrance. We will stay in this hotel again in our next Hong Kong trip.
I went to Hong Kong for the second time. Before going, I find out so many hotel, Finally I choose Prudential Hotel because its location nearest Jordan MTR station. Easy to go anywhere, eating, shopping. If I have a chance to go to Hong Kong again, I will book to stay at Prudential hotel absolutely.
Nice Hotel, excellent location”
Prudential Hotel is located inside Jordan MTR station, very convenient to move all over Hong Kong. It's also on a walking distance to all attractions on Kowloon side: ferry to cross to HK island, major shopping mall in town (Ocean Centre), at the corner of the major park in TST. Moreover, the rooms are nice, very spacious for HK standard. I recommend for both business and leisure travellers.
Cheap and Chic”
I would definitely choose Prudential for my next visit to Hong Kong because of the price and location. I would strongly reccomend it for family travelling with small children too. Due to the ideal location, many shopping areas are easily accessible and with Jordan MTR just beneath the hotel, you do not need to worry about rainy days. The time taken to travel to and from the airport is about 30mins and taxis are readily available even in the early morning.
Although Prudential Hotel has been around for many years, their location is great! Because it is an older hotel, the room decoration is a bit dated and cleanliness of my room is OK, but the rooms are bigger than many other hotels; which can be hard to come by in space constraint Hong Kong. You even get a bathtub in the bathroom! Jordan MTR station is located right below the hotel, making it very convenient to travel around. Many food choices and retail shops around the hotel too. Front desk staffs are friendly and very helpful. My 1st time staying here and it is a good experience. Will stay at this hotel if I am visiting Hong Kong again. I recommend this hotel if you value location and convenience.
Location: VERY CONVENIENT! It's right above Jordan MRT station and there is an access door from Prudential Mall going to the hotel lobby. Food: It's connected to Prudential Mall which has a food court called FOOD REPUBLIC (mostly local food but you'll also find Pepper Lunch and a Japanese food stall). There's also Killiney Cafe which is a Singaporean coffee shop, if you feel like having some Kaya Toast. There's also McDonald's nearby. Shopping: There's a Giordano store and a Bossini store one block away. It's also very near the night market. ROOM: I booked a Superior Twin for my parents and my son. It's spacious compared to other hotels of the same rate. I think it's also fairly new. It's clean. The beddings and pillows are spotless, and very comfy. The bathroom is also very clean, tub has no stains. We're VERY SATISFIED and we highly recommend Prudential Hotel!
