big room, friendly owner
Situated in an excellent position.”
Situated close to many bars, eateries and a short walk to the riverside. The rooms are spacious. The only downside is the rooms do not have a wardrobe or anywhere one can hang there clothes. There is a very good restaurant on the ground floor serving excellent food. There is no elevator or safe box in the rooms.
The hotel was very charming and the location excellent. It was disappointing that the room was not cleaned when we were on a day trip but maybe that was because the staff may not have had a spare set of keys to the room. It was nice that the hotel owner, Cedric, introduced himself to us. The menu was interesting and I would have enjoyed eating in the hotel more.
Pricey for what it is”
On the good side, the location is excellent, and the owner and his staff quite pleasant. It is good to preserve the old building. But for the price, the room is lacking. At half the price, you'd say you get what you pay for.. Lighting could be better, the a/c could be upgraded (and perhaps the windows sealed better), the fan was distressingly clunky, and the bathroom would benefit from a shower curtain, or at least a floor squeegee to help dry it off. An inexpensive floor squeegee would make things much better.
near the river and durain tire around ”
nothing to say
Lovely french style building in fantastic location and great food”
Our second visit to the hotel. It's a very sweet place in a great location. The owner and staff are lovely. I recommend having a meal in the onsite swiss-french restaurant. The steak and frites is highly recommended!
Perfect for us!”
Our room was large, clean and our terrace was lovely. The staff and the owner are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and we would love to stay there again.
Room was great but paper thin walls, location ultra noisy”
Room clean, AC works well, staff seem a bit annoyed if you ask for the room to be clean but ok overall. Main issue was that there is no way to escape every little noise. Then man next door sneezes, you feel he is next to you in bed. Laugher from the restaurant downstairs, you are right there with them. Plus street bars outside, you get the picture...if you fall asleep by 3 am, be sure 2 roosters and 5 dogs will wake you up before 4 am right under your window! 😂 so yes great place for owls, but not if you need to sleep.
Lovely little guesthouse and great restaurant”
We loved our stay at Auberge du Soleil. Cedric and his staff were lovely. The room we had was basic but had all we needed, including a fantastic balcony. Great location in Kampot, just off the main tourist drag. The onsite restaurant (Swiss-French) was great. Try the steak and chips!
love this place, have stayed here before, good location, good food and Cedric the owner is very obliging and helpful. Will be back for sure!!
Swiss food in colonial Mansion”
Large nice room in a beautiful colonial home. Excellent swiss-French food and excellent service. rœsti with chicken à la Zurichoises was perfect . A bit disapointed with breakfast . No fresh juice , and dry tasteless baguette , coffe so so
Great place to stay, large rooms, good staff, great food would recommend
Good location ”
Good location in a quite street one road back from the river close to many restaurants and mini marts ...comfortable bed and pillow ...no were to hang your clothing no safe in room but i would stay there again staff are pleasant and friendly with limited english. ...the owner does speak excellent english tho ...
Nice characterful colonial style house”
We had a nice room in this lovely colonial style house. Very charming and lots of wood. A really nice wraparound terrace to hang out in and take coffee and breakfast.Lots of great eateries around and nice wine bar opposite. The speciality of the Auberge is Fondue. Great salads and Khmer and continental cuisine at reasonable prices.
Great place to stay. Owner couldn't do enough for us very friendly staff and great food. Would stay again.
Comfortable and central”
This property's location is excellent. I booked the terrace room, which is a one flight walk-up and overlooks the street. The terrace has two chairs and a table. Unfortunately, when you sit, you cannot see said street through the thick railing. The room is large, yet lacks a bureau, shelves, or hooks. If you're staying for more than a day, you end up either leaving everything in your suitcase, or placing it all on chairs. The TV has a couple of English channels. The aircon works fine. The shower is wet-room style and the water is sufficiently hot. There is no in-room safe. The hotel's restaurant has a fine menu including western and asian fare. Aside from the inside tables, there are some outside in "sidewalk cafe" style. The Swiss owner/manager (Cédric) has a chef's background and so you know this food is top notch. The staff are friendly and professional.
too much mosquitos”
The location is fine. The food not great but okay. The maon problem is the mosquitoes in the room. Terribly bitten during the nights.
Excellent location and friendly staff.”
They did their best to fix small technical problems like air condition and shower.
Beautiful place, would definitely stay again”
After seven weeks of backpacking, we splashed out and stayed here and it was so worth it! We had the loft for just the two of us and it was so lovely. Large room, fridge, tea, coffee and a lounge area. The beds were super comfortable too! The staff were very kind and extremely helpful. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely stay again.
Charming room in old Kampot”
My 4 days in Terrace room were comfortable and interesting. The terrace allows a lot of street watching, and storm watching at this time. My bed was comfortable and all the basics covered, with pleasing architecture. I missed hanging space for clothing. The very relaxed young women tended to my domestic needs, thank you. They could not answer a question in English.Management was absent. Terrace room may not be for light sleepers. One neighbour used loud machinery just long enough to wake us up,a mechanical saw at 5.35 ! Location is very convenient, especially in pouring rain. I enjoyed my stay, different place.Excellent breakfasts.
