2 bedroom suite very comfortable for family with children.”
This was large and very comfortable 2 bedroom suite. 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom with separate living room and dining room. You cannot expect luxury at this price point, but everything is clean, comfortable and very functional for families like ours with 2 adult children who all have different agendas during the day and night. Although we did not try, rhere is a nice cafe serving food and drinks on the first floor. the staff speaks English. Station and pier is about a 5 minute walk. Great food stalls plus more modern / Western foods and shopping are also close.
Comfortable homely stay as always”
I've stayed here a few times and has never been disappointed. Spacious, comfortable, peaceful, homely, rustic ambience, well-kept, friendly & helpful owner and staff, with a popular restaurant on the ground floor that serves delicious Thai food, it has almost everything that I need. It's just a few minutes walk to Saphan Taksin BTS. It's in that part of the city that is old Bangkok where some of the long-established eateries can be found and it's near to Chinatown with a whole lot of other attractions.
Everything is perfect”
Dont know how to show my gratitude to the owner and staff of the hotel. I arrived at the hotel later than I expected. From the hotel, I couldnt book a 7 seat taxi during high traffic hours of Bangkok (my dad uses a wheelchair and we cannot get on a bus or bts at that moment) While I purchased tickets to aquarium at Siam Paragons, we were stuck at the hotel and it's near the closing hour of the aquarium. I thought that we were supposed to waste the purchased tickets which are quite expensive. The owner asked the hotel staff to drive us to Siam with a private van. Although we paid for the ride after we got back to the hotel, in the circumstance that even you had money but you cant do anything, what the hotel offered us is so helpful. We got to Siam just 5 minutes right before the aquarium's last guest welcoming of the day. During my stay with my family at the hotel, everything is perfect. The room, the staff, even the food served at the hotel. Also, the location is perfect.
Nice location, clean room”
We love the location, nearby a few famous eateries and walking distance to Saphan Taksin Pier and BTS station. The room we stayed was nice and clean (bed was slightly on the hard side though). Overall we think this is great value of money and will definitely love to come back again.
Excellent if you come with the right expectations”
This is a basic and small inn located in a local neighborhood but just a short walk to Saphan Taksin BTS and Sathorn Pier where you can take the river taxi to most historic sites. A short walk to the main road is Robinsons Bangrak. There's a supermarket, food court and restaurants with lots of options in the basement. We booked a triple room and both the room and ensuite bath were spacious and clean. There's also a restaurant on the ground floor frequented by locals so the food must be good and authentic. In fact, we ate most of our meals here. Prices were likewise very reasonable. The owners Heinrich and Pong were very friendly and accommodating. The staff particularly Ta were very nice and a pleasure to talk to despite some difficulty communicating in English. These were basically what we were looking for and the neighborhood gives you a glimpse of how the locals live without feeling isolated. The main shopping areas were easily accessed via BTS. Taxi to/from Suvarnabhumi Airport cost an average of BHT 500. Excellent value for money and highly recommended for those traveling on a budget.
great!”
Arrived and they gave us room immediately without much administration. Modern private room as if a 4 star luxury hotel. Very comfortable. Self service laundry opposite 20 baht. Very near to skytrain 5 mins walk
Charming new old guesthouse”
The guesthouse is a refurbished old building with certain old features retained, thus giving it a charming new-old look and feel. The room I was given was large and comfortable. I had booked for only one night but quickly extended my stay after seeing my room. It's located in an older part of Bangkok which has its own attractions to explore (for example, a popular old local cake shop is nearby and so is a new arty cafe called Bridge). Saphan Taksin BTS is a short 5-8 minutes walking distance, so it's easy to get to and from the airport and other parts of Bangkok. The pier from which you can take the free boat ride to Asiatique is also nearby. Unfortunately, the guesthouse does not serve breakfast and it's restaurant on the ground floor (which has received good reviews) isn't open in the morning which makes finding good breakfast in the early hours of the morning a problem if you're not into street food and fast food like McDonalds.
great value for money”
hotel was hard to find at first and seemed to be at a seedy neighborhood so for a single women traveler I was a bit worried. However it turned out that the location was perfect-about 5 min. walk to BTS and the water taxi thing, Robinsons department store with tops market and McDonalds, seven eleven and also local market was right in front of it. It is all noodle places on way to the hotel and it is closed in the evening or early morning which made it seem very seedy at first. No elevator, 3 story building, room was very clean, A/C and fridge worked well, spacious bathroom. Its a restaurant downstairs (it is also cheap, I never got to try it but the place was always packed) which doesnt open until past lunch time so if u r to visit there urself, go there little late. for those staying at the hotel, u will get keys to the backdoor which u may come and go freely. (They also kept my bag after checkout so no worries) I would definitely recommend this place.
worth it”
excellent service. friendly staff. delicious food available at the restaurant downstairs. location is excellent walking distance to robinson, 7 11,starbucks, mcdonalds, pier. spacious rooms. toiletries and towels are provided. value for money. we will definitely come back
No frills but comfortable”
Great price, located in a lively part of town. Plenty of street vendors nearby for food, but also near a major shopping center for other dining options. The bed is really hard by American standards, but might be the norm for asia. Room was clean and comfortable, and located right above the restaurant for easy dining options.
My Bangkok home ...”
Near to Sathorn Pier for river cruise tower and Saphan Thaksin, bts station
Helpful happy staff. Clean rooms and a reasonable price. Good menu and great food. ”
Central to all in walking distance. Shopping. Night markets. (Sky train 5 minute walk). Separate outside smoking area in hotel. Good aircon in rooms and good size fridge. Hot showers. Good size for a couple. Late night access and early checkout of needed. I will return again for sure.
Excecional”
Pros: comfortable bed, air con, hot shower, walking distance to Robinson shopping mall, SapanTaksin Sky train station, SapanTaksin pier foe boat trips, Sathorn KarnWan (my husband and I's favourite optometrist), Chai Somboon Money Exchanger (one of the stores giving the best rate), high quality massage at Yannawa Temple, best local food of all kinds. The restaurant downstairs provides high quality food, good for both Thai like myself and non Thai like my husband, with variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The hotel assisted to arrange a taxi pickup for suearnabhumi airport for 500 baht. This price already includes motorway fees. The cleanliness is outstanding. Con: no elevators. However, you may arrange with helpful staff to stay on a lower floor. Will certainly go back whenever we will be in Bangkok.
Everything was just right!”
BGS had the right room in the right location at the right price. Was very happy to find/stay in their triple room - it was very clean, great location, easy check in /out - all with no additional costs/surprises. Thanks
Great place to stay in Bangkok”
Small hotel with a very friendly owner in a good location. Only five minutes walk to BTS and express boats (14 baht for the orange flag boats, the best way to explore Bangkok from the river), still relatively quite in a side street. The room was better than what I expected from the pictures, very clean, with a large and comfortable bed. Great street food just 100m away, but the food in the restaurant is also good and the place is popular with other tourists. The breakfast is okay, but I'd recommend a chicken soup on the street. Overall I'd certainly stay there again.
great location”
great location, a lot of great street foods, near bts and pier to go around city. massage and laundry just in front hotel. but no lift need to carry stuff up and down. other than that everything was great.
Excellent Service from owner of this hotel”
We arrived very early around 930 and was surprised that the hotel allow us to check in. When we found that the aircon in the room was not working, the owner change our room to a suite. The restaurant downstair serve authentic and nice Thai food at very reasonable price. Too bad I tried it only on the last day and realized it was so much better than the others. On the last day, my flight was at 8pm and the owner allowed us to stay until we leave around 5pm. I would say that the owner of this botique hotel is really kind and not the type out to make money from customers. I would definitely return to this hotel. Btw, the taxi to Chinatown is around 60baht and the train station is just 4 mins away.
Simple, caring, no fuzz”
Now, Bangkok is huge. And I only stayed for two nights without prior knowledge of the town. But it felt like I couldn't have found a better location to stay. It is right by the river (where you can buy a river tour), and close enough to the public transportation train that will take you anywhere. It is also close to Chinatown (do not miss), and a 60 baht cab fare from the train station. At the same time it is comfortably far from the most exploited tourist areas like Sukhumvit Road, yet it's fast enough to take a cab if you want to visit a go go bar or buy a fake Rolex. The owners are very friendly and relaxed, speak good English and made me feel very at home. The room felt clean and comfortable. Extra special bonus points for the food. It felt like home cooked, Thai style cuisine. I tried to have as many things of the menu that I could while I was there. Everything tasted great. They also offer European breakfasts but I didn't try it myself. I was very happy with my stay and will definatly see if they have a vacancy when I return to Bangkok. Which I feel I must. Two days were to little to get a grip of this wonderful beast of a town.
Great value”
I have just spent 10 days here. No regrets. The hotel is located half way a long a small street. By Bangkok standards it's very quiet. The hotel is small, but very clean and well run. Melonie, the owner-manager, has been here for 15 years. The rooms are a good size, and well equipped. The beds are large and the mattresses are on the hard side, which is quite typical for Asia. I like a firm mattress, so no problem for me. The shower heater and the Air-con both work fine. There is Wifi one every floor. The restaurant on the ground floor has an extensive menu, at very reasonable prices. For those wishing to sample the street food, there are a number of food stalls in the street. Fast food addicts need only to go to the end of the street. McD, KFC, Starbucks, Swensens are all there. There is also Robinson's department store and a supermarket. There is also a 7-11 on the corner of the street where you can get your Dtac phone sim. Saphan Taksin Skytrain station is next to Robinson's. From here you can get to Mo Chit and Chatuchak Weekend market (42 Baht). (At Mo Chit Skytrain station cross the road by footbridge and turn left. The market is next to the park). For Mo Chit bus station jump in a taxi (about 60 or 70 Baht). Also you can go to Chit Lom for Pratunam Market, the cheapest in town. Behind the Skytrain is Taksin River Express Pier. From here you can go direct to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and China Town (Also a large market). Asiatique Market is a short taxi ride from Robinson's, This is a modern market (more expensive) and includes some amusements. There is a coin op laundry in the same street. A wash of 8Kg costs 20 - 30 THB. All in all, this is a great little hotel in a very good location. Why stay anywhere else?
Nice stay”
We had a pleasant and comfortable stay. The room was really spacious and the location was very good-close to Saphan Taksin station. Bangrak Bazaar is a great place to eat and the local supermarket is really good too. The staff weren't overly friendly but dealt with our requests professionally.
