OK for the money”

Most of Zhangjiajie's hotels are located in a different part of town, close to or even walking distance from the cable car tram, whereas the Best Western is a distance (cab or very long walk). The Best Western was definitely dated especially compared to the newer ones. The rooms and overall hotel did not seem too clean. We could have overlooked some of the shortcoming except the staff was unhelpful and provided poor service. The lower room rates may be worth it if you can handle these pitfalls.

The hotel is what it is. If you know china then don't expect fantastic. It is an old hotel in need of a revamp but if you are not fussed as we were, we just wanted a bed and shower.

Nice and Warm”

Great room and so great to come back to a heated room after walking around the mountains in the winter. A little out of town but the lobby will get you a cab and it will be about 20 rmb to town.

Decent Hotel”

Stayed here for some local sigh seeing at Tianmen Mountain and Wulingyouan. The room was large and comfortably furnished. The bed was comfortable. The carpet was a bit worn and dirty, but not a major problem. The breakfast was good (if you like Chinese food), but not very much western options. They had some problem keeping the food warm as the morning went on, so it's best to eat early. --- A nice park is nearby, but it is a bit of a walk to any substantial shopping and restaurant areas. -- Tip. If you are going to Wuligyuan, it is probably easier to take a hotel near the park rather than in Zhangjiajie. The trip to Wullingyuan can take 1.5-2 hours each way.

Great place to stop over”

We came there on a very rainy night. The room was beautiful and clean and very comfortable beds.The staff brought us a heater as we were a bit cold. In the hotel was an excellent Chinese restaurant with interesting food choices. A waiter helped us walk through the gallery that showed the foods and we chose a tasty variety. As we had to leave the next morning very early, the staff made sure we had a breakfast to take along (we had asked for it at the counter). All together, we were very satisfied.

Nice Western style Hotel - About what I expected”

This is a very nice western style hotel. The room was very nice and comfortable, and overall about what I expected from a western hotel in China. It's not quite as nice as you'll see from the same type of hotel in a bigger city like Beijing, but for the area it is nice. We were a western couple staying, though it seems like all of the other guests were Chinese tour groups. Pros: Great hotel for the value ($60 a night), nice clean room, wifi (not fast, not slow), friendly staff, quiet area, Restaurant and store in hotel lobby, Spa located just outside of hotel, free water in hotel Cons: Staff did not speak English (but we communicated fine through translation app), Breakfast not as big as other nicer hotels, Hotel not centrally located (about 2-3 miles from downtown/bus and train station)

Pleasant”

Helpful staff who allowed us to use their computer to send email to Agoda when we wanted to amend our booking. They were courteous at all times. The only complaint is the inconsistent aircon system which turns off in the morning and only kicks in again in the evening in the room. I suspect it's a cost saving measure because the lobby area and hallways are always cool! The staff explained it away as a system issue and suggested to give us a fan for the day!! Good thing we were out during the day. If we had stayed in the room, it would have been very uncomfortable. I notice other comments about the aircon as well from other reviews.

Best Western Grand Hotel Zhangjiajie-2015”

The included buffet breakfast is brutally bad. The restaurant that is connected to the lobby is pretty good, but this area of China uses a lot of Oil and Salt...make sure you ask to reduce the quantity used. The bed isn't very comfortable. The washroom has to have all the caulking redone in the shower as there is mold issues there. I would rate this hotel as a 3-Star hotel...maybe 3.5-Star

Great service”

Got a good deal online for this hotel so had modest expectations. The room was clean and modern, with a fully-functioning western bathroom, comfortable bed, and a view of Tianmen from our window. The main plus was the staff, though, who spoke some English and went out of their way to help us in every way and are universally friendly and professional. The hotel is a bit out of the way for the stations and downtown, but well-located for accessing the Forest Park.

Comfortable hotel in Zhangjiajie City”

The Best Western is located at the edge of Zhangjiajie City, just before the start of the highway that takes you to the national park area. It's a short taxi ride from most of the important areas of the city itself--restaurants, Tianman Mountain cable car station, etc. The room was presented very tastefully, with flower petals sprinkled in the washroom, a rose lying on the bed, and a fruit basket on the table. Everything was comfortable, and the only caveat was an occasional mild smell coming from the bathroom drain, which seems to be common to a lot of Chinese hotels.

Pleasantly comfortable! I got a very good rate compared to what it is, a good place to rest after a entire day of sightseeing and the concierge staff is very helpful.

Отель расположен в 15 минутах езды от аэропорта. Таксисты пытаются развести на 300 юаней и по счетчику не едут, так как расстояние небольшое. Торгуйтесь, я уехал за 90, хотя можно было и меньше сторговаться. Номер дали на 21 этаже с видом на мост и гору Тианьмень. Очень красиво. Завтрак вкусный и неплохой выбор, только кофе сразу сладкий и с молоком :) Сам номер небольшой, уютный, но на 5 звезд не тянет, неплохо было бы поменять ковры и обшивку кресел. Две бутылки воды бесплатно, есть халат, тапочки, туалетные принадлежности, сейф. На ресепшене практически никто по английски не говорит, только парень немного. Он помогал вызвать такси. Если соберетесь на гору Тианьмень (очень рекомендую) лучше выезжать из отеля не позже 6:30, очень большие очереди. Канатка находится возле жд и автовокзала. До национального парка 40-45 минут езды, стоимость около 100 юаней. В ресторане отеля ужинал, средненько. С ресторанами в этом городе проблемка, европейских не найдешь.

Прекрасный отель рядом с парком”

Отель удачно расположен на проспекте, рядом остановка муниципальных автобусов, которые за 1 юань отвезут куда нужно. Шикарный вид на парк и реку (в парке по вечерам работает цветомузыкальный фонтан, сверху его хорошо видно). Просторный красивый номер с прекрасной удобной кроватью, все исправное, все работает, отличный сейф, вместительный шкаф. Красиво оформлены лифтовые холлы - на каждом этаже по-разному - сами лифты плавные и бесшумные. Отзывчивый персонал.
