We were supposed to take a ferry to Cat Ba Island but we missed the last ferry so we were stucked in Hai Phong for the night. We walked around the main streets for a long time and this was the only cheap option left for us as there were not much hostel in the town. The staff was helpful despite that he does not speak much English. The wifi in the room was weak and cleanliness is a big issue in this hotel.

Decent value”

It's a little old & scruffy, but cheap. The staff is very nice & they have parking. The wifi can be spotty but they will reset it if you ask.

Large clean room, big comfortable bed with clean bedding, hot water, elevator. Fridge and Tv. Actually nothing to complain about this hotel, will come back again next time.

From the pictures on Agoda, the room has two beds and a window. When I came, they let me stay in a stuffy room with 1 bed and no windows. They said the room with windows had been all booked. I definitely would not recommend. Another downside is that it is hard to find places around to eat. (Phòng ở tôi đặt trên Agoda mô tả có hai giường và 1 cửa sổ, nhưng khi nhận phòng họ bảo đã hết loại phòng đó và tôi phải ở phòng rất bí ko có cửa sổ và chỉ có 1 giường. Một điểm trừ nữa là rất khó tìm quán ăn xung quanh đó)

It was the most expensive room we paid in Asia but not the best... It's ok but at the end they try to charged us the bottle of water they gave us, and they have never explained that was to pay, not even a sign in the room with price... And the fridge never worked and the toilet room never closed properly. But the staff are very friendly

Good enough for short stays”

Nice hotel. Nearby the center of city so we could reach the center by walk. A traditional market is only 450 meters away. And it takes only 1.7 kilometers from the hotel to get to Ben Binh harbor and catch a speed boat over to Cat Ba. Rooms are big and clean enough. Staffs are quite helpful.

Central location for one night, best price”

We stayed one night and chose this hotel as it was the cheapest one. It's in walking distance to the center and we even walked to the ferry station to Cat Ba island (30 minutes). Room could be cleaner but it's okay for one night. Wifi worked very well. Warm water available. Staff spoke a bit English. Worth the money.

Good value for a hotel in Hai Phong ”

We stayed in Dong Duong Hotel for one night and we really liked it there. It isn't the fanciest Hotel in town, but for that money you will not find anything else with a flatscreen-TV and A/C. The staff, as so often in Vietnam, can hardly speak or understand english, but with signlanguage everything is possible. We would stay there again next time.

Great location, affordable. But the equipments are old. Room is note private (I feel it) and not clean at all. Do note have breakfast and decoration is not good (may be effective of traditional in the north of VietNam). If u are foreigner, I recommend u to use international hotel.
