Top floor open air hot spring and beautiful garden are the main points of theb hotel”
Believe me you will attract by the garden, so beautiful pond and waterfall. The open air hot spring must try, Men 7 floor and women 6 floor. If you uncomfortable with the public hot spring can book the private family room at just 2000 Yen (without tax, half price between 12am to 7 am). Walking distance from Yumoto station but not encourage with luggage because little big far. You can take the bus A from Yumoto station (just until 6 pm). The overall experienced of stay was great and wonderful. Highly recommend and wish to come back again.
The onsen is great”
Nice hotel; not as unique as an small onsen hotel, but would definitely recommend this hotel. The room is spacious and clean and we had a view to the river in front of the hotel (very peaceful). The onsen is open all night, so plenty of time to go for a hike, eat dinner and soak in the onsen after. They provide everything like soap, face wash and combs. There are also free bathrobes. The station (Hakone-Yumoto) is only 1.1 km away and there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets to get something to eat, if you opt for the room without meals.
Unique japanese bath experience and beautiful grounds, waterfalls around hotel. Outside shoes are removed and put in locker. Hotel is very clean through out. Bath robes are given to go to the bath or stroll around the hotel or go to the buffet breakfast and dinner which was wonderful. To get to hotel from Yumoto station requires to take the A bus or taxi. Be aware if you have luggages may be tricky if you have to stand or get off from the small bus as it drops off passengers at different hotels along the route. Is a 15 min slightly uphill walk to hotel.
Nice hotel. Very Japanese.....which is a good experience.
Not worth to stay ”
I booked 2 rooms for my family of 2 adults and 2 kids. I emailed to hotel for connecting room and hotel emailed replied yes they will arrange for me but when we arrived, the staff said hotel is full so can't give me connecting room. I accepted and went for buffet dinner (food was cheap quality). When we return to our room, there are 2 die cockroaches in the bedroom. I called the hotel staff to my room and they immediately change my room to connecting room. This is really bad. I wouldn't come back again or recommend anyone to this hotel. This is really low standard but high price to pay.
Very nice hotel and hot spring!!”
The hotel was nice, comfortable bed room was clean. it had many rooms for resting. large hot spring made me relax. Especially, the breakfast was amazing!. it was buffet style and had a lot of dishes. Staffs were friendly and kind to me. Thank you for their hospitality.
The place is awesome, will definitely be back, the breakfast was goooooood! A solo traveller but was given a twin room. They speak English. First time at onsen. The experience was great. The bus is easy to find. Look for bus A . 100 yen is totally worthy. Don't need to carry cash around. All payment charge to room card, payment to be settled when check out. Note: some English translation are werid.
Overall it was a good experience. The only thing to improve I think it's the buffet dinner. It wasn't bad, but at the same time it wasn't anything to shout about. I feel with the price you paid, the dinner food quality should be better. That being said, still a good place to stay. Love the Onsen!
Room is clean and walking distance to lots of shops,
Beautiful gardens, terrific onsen and exceptional staff ”
This hotel is really lovely. The Staff were delightful, so willing to help making us feel very special in a very busy large hotel. That isn’t easy to do but they manage it well. The gardens are beautiful with the waterfalls and walkways up to the shrine. It’s definitely a place that is easy to relax in. The onsen both public and private are lovely with all amenities provided and clear instructions for the first time novice to a public bath. Half price private onsen between midnight and 9am was just an added bonus for us. Although we would have liked a more relaxed dining experience you certainly won’t go hungry with the buffet dinner with the food of very good quality and enough variety to please even fussy eaters. Once we had our bearings it wasn’t too hard to find but we are very glad that we didn’t have to wheel suitcases up the hill. We so love the luggage forwarding service. A really great experience in a lovely setting with terrific staff.
A good place to relax”
The hotel is top notch from living to onsen to good. The only bad thing about the hotel is the location. It claims that it is just 12 mins from Yumoto station, bit in fact ity is about 20 to 25 mins walk.
location was a 15 min walk from hakone-yumoto station or you can take a bus ride which cost you 100 yen. the hotel is clean. rooms were comfortable. the public onsens are great which is located in the rooftop. breakfast and dinner buffet was great!
From the Hakone-Yumoto Station, you can use the overpass bridge to cross the street. There is a Tourist information office there. In front of the tourist info office is a bus stop for min-bus A, B & C. Bus A is going to Hotel Tenseien and will cost 100 yen per person (as of May 2016) and will take about 15 min., mostly because of the traffic because the streets are very narrow. We walked one night from Hakone-Yumoto to Hotel and it took us about 20 min. I think that was around 9:30pm and there’s no more Bus A… The bus stop for Bus A going back to Hakone-Yumoto station is just outside the hotel. Very convenient. Before the main hotel entrance is a bridge and a river…very cool! The Hotel is amazing. It’s very clean. Shoes are not allowed anywhere inside the hotel. There are shoe cabinets by the entrance and you must keep the keys. The room is big for japan standard. The toilet is a bit small. Our room window is facing the waterfalls…nice view. They provide Yukata (robe) for everyone so you get that Japanese feeling. They have slippers for everyone to use whenever you want to explore the garden, the shrine, around the pond and if you want to enjoy the beauty of the 2 waterfalls…..again, amazing view. They have a 24-hour shop. They have I think 24-hour Onsen on the rooftop which is the best! The amenities are great! They have steam-bath, Sauna, indoor and outdoor onsen….yes on the roof top…under the sky…under the stars.I want to go back now. They have relaxation room and they provide massage services. This place is totally the most relaxing hotel I have ever been. The Food is good. The breakfast selection is huge. We had ala-carte dinner and the sushi and soba noodles are good. The service is also good. Free wifi. Staffs can speak english well.
Traditional japanese hotspring establishment in the centre of the hakone hotspring area .”
popular hotspring hotel with lots of local customers . friendly & efficient staff. small rooms , hotspring facilities on rooftop, sumptuous buffets . may not be the choice if you opt for a more rural, outdoor type of onsen establishment. parking is ¥1000 overnight extra.
It worths revisits”
I love the outdoor spa especially. The hotel itself, the room size and buffet meals are fair enough. The location is not bad, easy to find. But I would recommend the visitors with heavy luggages to take the A route minibus, it costs 100 yen only.
Nice and clean onsen hotel, but too commercialised ”
Location is great by car, is close to the small town. The hotel is really clean, you will need to leave your shoes at the entrance. The entire hotel you will need to walk on socks. We booked the private onsen for 1 hour, however it was nothing spectacular, is just a normal bath. The public onsen was really big, there is even a sakura mist steam room and you can watch the sky at the outdoor area, especially during sunrise is beautiful. Staff was really helpful as expected. The dinner and breakfast buffet are nice, nothing special, too bad you will need to pay for alcohol. The hotel is big, lots of people walking around. During checkout it can get very crowdy. All in all, its a great hotel, but i rather choose something more quiet and more traditional ryokan next time.
Need to Kaizen”
Good hotel and can be better. Suggestions for Kaizen (improvements): 1) Room is clean and comfortable. The pillow has a special design that it can be adjusted to high / low and hard / soft... I love their pillows! There is limited place to hang clothes and towels, hope this can be improved. Various hair care and skin care products are provided incl. facial cleanser foam and milk, great! 2) I went to the hotel onsen for girls (6th floor) but couldn't see Mt Fuji. I'm guessing maybe only hotel onsen for boys (7th floor) has the Mt Fuji view. It would be great if girls too can get the Mt Fuji view. 3) We consulted the reception at check-in counter how to get to Gotemba premium outlet and quite disappointed they didn't really know. We'd like to suggest hotel to prepare some helpful guidelines what public transports, time & cost for visiting tourists spots eg. Gotemba premium outlet, Moto-Hakone - cruise to Souzan - Gora - Hakone Yumoto. The transport costs are much cheaper if we buy the Hakone Free Pass, which we only find out from the brochures we took at the Hakone-Yumoto station after study it in detail. 4) Their buffet breakfast and dinner are delicious and quite a good variety. It will be better if they can change some of the dishes so that we don't eat the same thing everyday (for those who stay for more than a day). On our 2nd night, we were surprised that they prepared special addition food for us. We'd appreciate if we are informed because we almost missed it thinking we are going to have same food same cooking for dinner again. On our 2nd morning, we were not given any special additional food, just eat the same buffet with the 1st day. All in all, a nice comfortable stay! With some improvements, this hotel will be superb!!
Friendly Helpful Manager”
Best thing in this hotel was the Helpful Manager. She can speaks well English and carry on our translation. She even carry our luggage and arrange our trip in Hokone. No doubt, I never see so helpful Manager even in 5stars hotel. The hotel Hotspring may be the best in Hokone, clean and relaxing. The hotel food is so nice, no worry about thinking to grap any food from outside. Just Stay in Hotel and Enjoy~~ will be back again.
Booking was with breakfast and dinner.. spread was wide and good! Need to keep your shoes at the lockers provided when you enter and move around the hotel with the socks provided. The entire hotel looks like a home away from home. Rooms were quite small but just nice for me and my sister. Should have stayed for one more night! Will be back again! (There is a shuttle to the hotel. It's close to the station but not recommended to walk. Take bus A from the bus stop infront of the tourist centre. 100 yen per pax. Save the trouble to walk)
Maybe one of the hottest hotel in Hakone Yumoto”
I stayed here more than 3 times already. I like the big open-air bath on the roof top. Facility is clean and convenience. Also can enjoy the nice buffet with live kitchen. Wifi connection in the room was quite fast.
