    Check-in took quite a while. There was no sign to direct guests on where to check in/out. Didn't know which queue to join. Stayed in deluxe room - fairly big and comfortable. Bathroom is clean but could use more lighting. Lobby lounge staffs are all friendly and attentive, had our drinks there every day. Swimming pool looks sad and under-maintained. Delicious room service menu - we had the salmon and club sandwich. Best we ever had!

    Ideal getaway at a location close to airport and seafood”

    Glad that we made the decision to stay here. It was close to the airport, just about 10 minutes away. It was within walking distance to seafood galore. You can also walk to the nearby shopping centres too. The tour agent on ground floor had been helpful in arranging our day trips. Downside was the fact that we received a partial sea view room when we requested for a sea view room, and that the carpet looks like it needs a good wash as there were some noticeable stains. Other than that, we had a pleasant stay and the staff were courteous and attentive too.

    I got a very nice big room - a suite at the corner”

    It is quite an old hotel but they upgraded the rooms. The breakfast is good and i love the superior suite rooms very much. It is worth the price. Walking distance to many popular places there. This is a popular hotel with the Koreans and Chinese. SOme bad points are, the room is with carpet and underneath the drawers beside the bed is actually very dirty. The cleaner may have missed out to vacuum there. Other than that it is good.

    Too much Chinese Tourist (from mainland China) staying here. Very rude and loud. The staff and management should be more strict and enforce rules more/reminder to them on compliance and respect to other tourists/visitors.

    Very much improved compared to last 2003”

    I had worked in KK on short term assignment in year 2003, stayed at Promenade KK for 6months project duration. Promenade was back then in a rating of 3 star. I was surprised this year in April 2019 Promenade has improved a lot better and with the super good location facing KK waterfront, and together with the improvise interior of both rooms and restaurants, I believe Promenade can grew better.

    Leisure centre - swimming pool”

    Some people do not adhere to the rules of swimming pool use and no one is making sure that these rules are adhered to. I ended up calling my daughter out of the pool when I saw 2 of the guests blowing their nose and tossed their slime/snort into the swimming pool. One even was coughing with pleghm and coughed the pleghm out into the pool. This is really disgusting!!! I suggest this hotel to put someone on guard to watch the pool making sure guests are not abusing the rules set for the pool.

    Bad Experience due to bad room arrangements.”

    I booked 2 deluxe rooms on separate bookings through AGODA. On 23rd June, prior 3 days before my arrival, i emailed the hotel through agoda requesting the hotel a simple arrangements. The requests have 3 options either they give me 2 connecting rooms OR 2 rooms that adjascents next door each OR at least same floor. i request these becoz i trevel with both my parents n wife with 6 month infant. As we reached the hotel around 3.30pm from Kundasang the reception on duty told me that my rooms are located in 2 different floor which is level 7 and level 9. so i was surprised and ask him to find me 2 rooms at least same floor. unfortunately the re is NO ROOMS AT ALL available during that time. The drama continues with my IC is misplaced by them and i had to find my IC for 2 and half hours and cancelled my plans to watch the sunsets at Tg aru due to i assume my IC had lost. This is the 1st BAD experience i had after several time travel to Sabah. A big NO to return to promenade KK again.

    This location went down in the last years considerably”

    I have been many times in Promenade Hotel and actually, I hesitated long time before I decided to write this review. The Hotel was once quite the best place you could find in KK but I observed, that within the last years, the place had gradually lost a lot regarding service and cleanliness and quite a lot of the staff do their job without dedication. During my stay in Sabah in May/June, I booked this hotel twice and both times, I was disappointed. At the time of the first booking, I had a severe issue with the cleanliness of the bathroom. Only at the 2nd complaint, the Housekeeping Supervisor and the Housekeepings Chief-in-charge came in and admitted that 1st and 2nd cleaning were unacceptable (they cleaned the room then themselves). My second stay left me with a room which had suffered water damage and smelled mouldy. Instead of giving me another room, they just sprayed a deodorant. Unfortunately, the space for the review is limited, elsewhere I would write more disappointments.

    Excellent Hotel”

    Hotel is about 10 mins car ride from airport. The sea view and sun set from the hotel is fantastic. Well worth the additional cost to get a sea view room. Junior suite is spacious and clean, with a small living room, a bedroom, a little walk-in wardrobe with a dressing table, bathroom with bathtub, standing shower area and toilet. Hotel is very convenient and within walking distance to most of the main attractions. Grab car to most of the places from hotel is around 5-6rm. Breakfast was simple and normal. Overall its an enjoyable stay at Promenade Hotel.

    WORST EXPERIENCE & BAD LUCK”

    Ms Jacinta from front desk, you are the dumbest manager i ever met. First, you are the reason for the bride and my 62 years old mother check in at 4:00PM on 19th April. They had waited for more than 3 hours just to check in. Secondly, you could possibly bring danger to my child by bringing the Room 821 guest directly to my room without reaching at me first and without any security personnel with you. Thirdly, you are not being reasonable and unfair. You and the Room 821 guest accusing my 2 years old child weight 14kg responsible for every noise that the Room 821 guest heard from his room. For your information, your rooms are not really that soundproof. We are at your property for my sister's wedding reception on the 20th, just 1 floor above your head. You supposed to reach at me first before you bring the guest directly to my room and raising your voice to my sister in law with my child inside. They said you were rude and disrespect when you talking to them. They were resting and keeping an eye at my child while me and my wife at the function room at 1st floor during that time. YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS DEALING WITH MY FAMILY MEMBER, YOU SHOULD DEAL DIRECTLY WITH ME. If my 2 years old child making all the noises why the Room 821 guest the only one that making the complaints? We heard loud bangs and noises from the outside too. My child was playing happily inside the room and not crashing anything. It was his awake time, what do you want me to do? tie him up? You and the Room 821 guest accusing me for abandoning my child alone without supervision inside the room. You just ruined the mood on my family biggest day. Ms Joana from sales, thank you for such a wonderful event. We are all happy with your setup and congratulations with the banquet team. Thank you Ms Patri from front desk for being professional and reasonable and you really can handled the situation. Job well done.

    Car Park Facilities”

    The basement B1 car park lift was located at the exit gate. It was very dangerous while customer going out from lift and the car was exit at the barrier gate. Hopefully management can improve the facilities. I'm just wondering why Hotel Guest NEED to pay for the car park fee. !!! It was not encourage for us to stay long term at this hotel coz the parking fee calculate as per day instead of per entry.

With regards to the parking fee, kindly be informed that we have implemented this system successfully for a number of years as a way to deter non-hotel guests / outsiders from occupying our limited basement parking space the whole day. Hence, the RM4 per entry followed by RM1 per every subsequent hour after the first 45 minutes. In house guests, diners and guests attending functions in the hotel are entitled to a flat rate of RM4 per entry (tickets to be endorsed at our concierge counter before leaving the carpark). We sincerely believe that this rate is still relatively the lowest as compared to other hotels around that provide similar parking facilities.     The Best 4 Star Hotel In KK City”

    Stayed in a Superior Room + Extra Bed. This hotel looks grand not only from the outside and also in the building too. Receptionists was fast and friendly. Then proceed to our room, 1005. Amazingly, super luxurious room, super clean bathroom, super comfortable bed and stunning view from our hotel window. Shops, entertainment outlets and restaurants are all walking distance. Next morning, super yummy and delicious buffet breakfast !! The choices of food are beyond our expectation. My family and i had a very pleasant stay in this hotel but sadly we had to leave next day so soon. Thanks for the great comfort and warm hospitality provided to us throughout our stay here.

    Although rhe room wuiet basic, they have aircond and Confortable the staff very Friendly, very clean room good facility but Dell disappointed sahur time.Please improve food, our sahor was not very nice.     Good location; Great view facing the sea”

    Good: location, walking distance to oceanus, warisan area, imago as well if travelling without a stroller; there is a jogging route from oceanus direction all the way to sutera harbour and further; lots of convenient stores behind the hotel and across the road of the hotel; comfy pillows; satisfactory tv channels available except there is no cartoon channel for the kids; lots of laundry facilities behind the hotel; easy to catch grab from the hotel; widespread of food for the breakfast buffet Bad: no hot shower; the aircon is too cold even if control to the highest temp; carpet quite dirty with lots of stains; only one hotel card provided; customer service quite poor - when i arrive at 8am, no porter readily available or to hold the door open; confused where to checkin or checkout at front helpdesk; seems bossy impression for receptionist to sit rather than stand to serve customers.

    Check-in took quite a while. There was no sign to direct guests on where to check in/out. Didn't know which queue to join. Stayed in deluxe room - fairly big and comfortable. Bathroom is clean but could use more lighting. Lobby lounge staffs are all friendly and attentive, had our drinks there every day. Swimming pool looks sad and under-maintained. Delicious room service menu - we had the salmon and club sandwich. Best we ever had!

    Ideal getaway at a location close to airport and seafood”

    Glad that we made the decision to stay here. It was close to the airport, just about 10 minutes away. It was within walking distance to seafood galore. You can also walk to the nearby shopping centres too. The tour agent on ground floor had been helpful in arranging our day trips. Downside was the fact that we received a partial sea view room when we requested for a sea view room, and that the carpet looks like it needs a good wash as there were some noticeable stains. Other than that, we had a pleasant stay and the staff were courteous and attentive too.

    I got a very nice big room - a suite at the corner”

    It is quite an old hotel but they upgraded the rooms. The breakfast is good and i love the superior suite rooms very much. It is worth the price. Walking distance to many popular places there. This is a popular hotel with the Koreans and Chinese. SOme bad points are, the room is with carpet and underneath the drawers beside the bed is actually very dirty. The cleaner may have missed out to vacuum there. Other than that it is good.

    Very much improved compared to last 2003”

    I had worked in KK on short term assignment in year 2003, stayed at Promenade KK for 6months project duration. Promenade was back then in a rating of 3 star. I was surprised this year in April 2019 Promenade has improved a lot better and with the super good location facing KK waterfront, and together with the improvise interior of both rooms and restaurants, I believe Promenade can grew better.

    Leisure centre - swimming pool”

    Some people do not adhere to the rules of swimming pool use and no one is making sure that these rules are adhered to. I ended up calling my daughter out of the pool when I saw 2 of the guests blowing their nose and tossed their slime/snort into the swimming pool. One even was coughing with pleghm and coughed the pleghm out into the pool. This is really disgusting!!! I suggest this hotel to put someone on guard to watch the pool making sure guests are not abusing the rules set for the pool.

    Bad Experience due to bad room arrangements.”

    I booked 2 deluxe rooms on separate bookings through AGODA. On 23rd June, prior 3 days before my arrival, i emailed the hotel through agoda requesting the hotel a simple arrangements. The requests have 3 options either they give me 2 connecting rooms OR 2 rooms that adjascents next door each OR at least same floor. i request these becoz i trevel with both my parents n wife with 6 month infant. As we reached the hotel around 3.30pm from Kundasang the reception on duty told me that my rooms are located in 2 different floor which is level 7 and level 9. so i was surprised and ask him to find me 2 rooms at least same floor. unfortunately the re is NO ROOMS AT ALL available during that time. The drama continues with my IC is misplaced by them and i had to find my IC for 2 and half hours and cancelled my plans to watch the sunsets at Tg aru due to i assume my IC had lost. This is the 1st BAD experience i had after several time travel to Sabah. A big NO to return to promenade KK again.

    This location went down in the last years considerably”

    I have been many times in Promenade Hotel and actually, I hesitated long time before I decided to write this review. The Hotel was once quite the best place you could find in KK but I observed, that within the last years, the place had gradually lost a lot regarding service and cleanliness and quite a lot of the staff do their job without dedication. During my stay in Sabah in May/June, I booked this hotel twice and both times, I was disappointed. At the time of the first booking, I had a severe issue with the cleanliness of the bathroom. Only at the 2nd complaint, the Housekeeping Supervisor and the Housekeepings Chief-in-charge came in and admitted that 1st and 2nd cleaning were unacceptable (they cleaned the room then themselves). My second stay left me with a room which had suffered water damage and smelled mouldy. Instead of giving me another room, they just sprayed a deodorant. Unfortunately, the space for the review is limited, elsewhere I would write more disappointments.

    Excellent Hotel”

    Hotel is about 10 mins car ride from airport. The sea view and sun set from the hotel is fantastic. Well worth the additional cost to get a sea view room. Junior suite is spacious and clean, with a small living room, a bedroom, a little walk-in wardrobe with a dressing table, bathroom with bathtub, standing shower area and toilet. Hotel is very convenient and within walking distance to most of the main attractions. Grab car to most of the places from hotel is around 5-6rm. Breakfast was simple and normal. Overall its an enjoyable stay at Promenade Hotel.

    WORST EXPERIENCE & BAD LUCK”

    Ms Jacinta from front desk, you are the dumbest manager i ever met. First, you are the reason for the bride and my 62 years old mother check in at 4:00PM on 19th April. They had waited for more than 3 hours just to check in. Secondly, you could possibly bring danger to my child by bringing the Room 821 guest directly to my room without reaching at me first and without any security personnel with you. Thirdly, you are not being reasonable and unfair. You and the Room 821 guest accusing my 2 years old child weight 14kg responsible for every noise that the Room 821 guest heard from his room. For your information, your rooms are not really that soundproof. We are at your property for my sister's wedding reception on the 20th, just 1 floor above your head. You supposed to reach at me first before you bring the guest directly to my room and raising your voice to my sister in law with my child inside. They said you were rude and disrespect when you talking to them. They were resting and keeping an eye at my child while me and my wife at the function room at 1st floor during that time. YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS DEALING WITH MY FAMILY MEMBER, YOU SHOULD DEAL DIRECTLY WITH ME. If my 2 years old child making all the noises why the Room 821 guest the only one that making the complaints? We heard loud bangs and noises from the outside too. My child was playing happily inside the room and not crashing anything. It was his awake time, what do you want me to do? tie him up? You and the Room 821 guest accusing me for abandoning my child alone without supervision inside the room. You just ruined the mood on my family biggest day. Ms Joana from sales, thank you for such a wonderful event. We are all happy with your setup and congratulations with the banquet team. Thank you Ms Patri from front desk for being professional and reasonable and you really can handled the situation. Job well done.

    Car Park Facilities”

    The basement B1 car park lift was located at the exit gate. It was very dangerous while customer going out from lift and the car was exit at the barrier gate. Hopefully management can improve the facilities. I'm just wondering why Hotel Guest NEED to pay for the car park fee. !!! It was not encourage for us to stay long term at this hotel coz the parking fee calculate as per day instead of per entry.

    Dear Ai, Thank you for staying at Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu recently. With regards to the parking fee, kindly be informed that we have implemented this system successfully for a number of years as a way to deter non-hotel guests / outsiders from occupying our limited basement parking space the whole day. Hence, the RM4 per entry followed by RM1 per every subsequent hour after the first 45 minutes. In house guests, diners and guests attending functions in the hotel are entitled to a flat rate of RM4 per entry (tickets to be endorsed at our concierge counter before leaving the carpark). We sincerely believe that this rate is still relatively the lowest as compared to other hotels around that provide similar parking facilities.     The Best 4 Star Hotel In KK City”

    Stayed in a Superior Room + Extra Bed. This hotel looks grand not only from the outside and also in the building too. Receptionists was fast and friendly. Then proceed to our room, 1005. Amazingly, super luxurious room, super clean bathroom, super comfortable bed and stunning view from our hotel window. Shops, entertainment outlets and restaurants are all walking distance. Next morning, super yummy and delicious buffet breakfast !! The choices of food are beyond our expectation. My family and i had a very pleasant stay in this hotel but sadly we had to leave next day so soon. Thanks for the great comfort and warm hospitality provided to us throughout our stay here.

    Rooms are nice and clean. I just wish that the room service and add on breakfast could be charged to the room instead of cash transaction right then and there. So that payment can only be done once off.

    Fantastic quiet gateway”

    Although rhe room wuiet basic, they have aircond and Confortable the staff very Friendly, very clean room good facility but Dell disappointed sahur time.Please improve food, our sahor was not very nice. Limited option for food, prawn was no fresh , and rice i think not cook very well. But all good just need to improve. thanks promenade hotel

    Good location; Great view facing the sea”

    Good: location, walking distance to oceanus, warisan area, imago as well if travelling without a stroller; there is a jogging route from oceanus direction all the way to sutera harbour and further; lots of convenient stores behind the hotel and across the road of the hotel; comfy pillows; satisfactory tv channels available except there is no cartoon channel for the kids; lots of laundry facilities behind the hotel; easy to catch grab from the hotel; widespread of food for the breakfast buffet Bad: no hot shower; the aircon is too cold even if control to the highest temp; carpet quite dirty with lots of stains; only one hotel card provided; customer service quite poor - when i arrive at 8am, no porter readily available or to hold the door open; confused where to checkin or checkout at front helpdesk; seems bossy impression for receptionist to sit rather than stand to serve customers.
