Amazing place, amazing people”
Had a lovely time at sea horse, cotteges are clean with all basic amenities and right behind the beach. The beachfront restaurant is really good and the athmosphere is relaxed (perfect if it wasn't for the loud and not always pleasant music from the shack right next!)but the best of all was the amazing staff, so friendly, relaxed and helpfull!!
What a beautiful place to be in Goa! Located on d beautiful Anjuna beach. It's location makes it all the more special. Anjuna beach itself is comparatively less crowded than the other beaches. Our cottage was one of the wooden cottages just 100metres from the beach. The restaurant at the cottage allows a 24 hour view of the beach. Staff is polite and helpful. Commuting from the cottage to other places in Goa was easy thanks to the owner who provided cars and bikes on reasonable rent.
Nice accommodation really near to the beach. Food was good. Wifi was only good at the restaurant though. Friendly staff. Just next door to Cafe Lilliput, which has a party going on every night. Music wasnt too loud to be uncomfortable for sleep. As expected, non-ac rooms were hot in the day but quite cold at night.
Nice room good location ”
Pleasantly surprised by this place. The room and bathroom are fairly basic but clean. All outdoor bungalow style. The staff was around and helpful. We were on the mail stripe of the beach but never heard the music played at night. North goa is not our scene but nice place to stay if it’s your kind of vacation!
Location, location, location!!!”
The place is right on the beach. The staff are really friendly and co-operative. Those are the positives. The premises and accommodation are clean but very basic - just the bedchamber and bathroom (not even cupboards to store your clothes and stuff). There was no dressing mirror. The bathroom mirror (in the room we stayed in) was placed above the WC and not the sink. The power goes out often, the water runs out often, the restaurant (shack) attached to the premises has good chairs but dirty cushions on them, the food is overpriced, the markup on liquor is about 100%. All that said, if you are looking to be on a beach which is still not overly commercialised in Goa, Anjuna fits the bill and Sea Horse offers some basic accommodation right on the beach. The staff are really friendly and treated us really well.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone visiting Goa for multiple reasons, let me highlight both side of the coin. This is only for super budget travellers who need a place to crash at night. Pros:- - The caretaker Ciril was probably the only good thing about this place, always smiling, attentive and extremely helpful - Next to Cafe Lilliput, a popular hangout for young crowd Cons:- - Overcrowded and small beach. - The property/cottages are not on the beach or facing the beach. They line up facing each other and a middle walkway leads to the restaurant, which is beach facing - Property is not maintained, you could see the wood decaying & insects crawling in the bathroom. The property surrounding, common wash areas/toilet, super dirty & unhygienic - They only provide sheets & towels (Old & heavily used) No dryer, iron, TV, telephone, mosquito repellent or any other fancy facilities. - No swimming pool - Average bed/sleep quality Not worth more than Rs 700/800 ($10/15) per night
Excellent place to stay”
I didn't find a cheaper room right on the beach and I'm glad I stayed here. My room was quite simple (and in warmer months you should definitely pay the extra for A/C) but it was about a two minute walk to the beach and, for the price, you can't beat that. During my stay I only had a limited interaction with the staff, but every time they were friendly, courteous and helpful. Also, I had some Indian "jelly belly" during my stay so I only sampled a soup from the restaurant but it was delicious (seriously, I had soup at almost every restaurant on the beach and this might have been the best!) and a lot of their other food looked appetizing as well. Be advised though. This hotel is in an area that is very popular for partying and their neighbors are famous beach-side party haunt. In season (and probably often out of season) this area gets noisy at night. If you intend to sleep early bring earplugs ;-)
Good beach location”
Located right off the beach. Cabins were some of the best build we've seen in Goa even though none had ocean views. There wasn't much going on at the sea horse bar but Lilliput and Janet's on either side were partying most nights.
Nice quaint stay”
Pros: Check-in process was quick. At a quite part of Anjuna , close to many a famous food attractions. Budget hotel, cottage was clean N tidy. View of sea from the hotel shacks was super. Food was decent. Just 10min drive from party place Baga. Bed was nice , blankets clean. WFM. Cons: Not much facilities in the room like - water, fridge. Fan was a small one on the wall , curtains could have been better.
Awesome Place and Hospitality”
Nice place to stay which is next to the Anjuna Beach and Wednesday Flea Market. The manager Mario is very helpful and informative, a good host. Loved the stay and the beach next to it, and staff were nice too. Food was not that great.
Better than expected”
Stayed for 9 days - food was great, staff were amazing, location on the beach was wonderful. Air conditioning was super cold. Rooms were very clean. If you're easygoing and not overly concerned about 5 star amenities, then this place is great. Especially good if you're looking to party late into the night as local nightspots are nearby. If you're looking for something quieter, but still lovely, I would recommend another beach. Cafe Lilliput, which runs trance every night into the wee hours of the morning, is right next door. If you're a light sleeper, I would recommend going elsewhere. I'm not, so the really heavy beats (think roommate having a party while you're sleeping) didn't bother me at all...
nice stay but a bit over priced”
After arriving at night and not seeing much i sat down on the beach and had some of there fantastic food. I then went back to the room; in which i asked for a double bed and was given two singles in which is pointless for a solo traveler, and had a beautifully cool room. The position was perfectly located close to the nightlife of anjuna but without hearing it all to keep you up, and the markets and food too. Great stay even though i believe it was a little to expensive for the position, i would suggest looking at others around this for a better price and stay
Awesome Staff and Steps from the Beach”
Welcomed to Sea Horse Cottages by friendly manager, knowledgeable and attentive staff, impecable service and hospitality by everyone. Cottages are simple and basic, non/ac rooms get a little stuffy during the day but we really enjoyed lounging on the covered deck area and trying Goan cuisine and beverages. Both nightclubs on either side play music very late into night, so dance until dawn or sleep through the beats.
One of the best host's”
Our stay at Sea horse cottages was s memorable one. The location of the resort is fantastic and though facilities in the resort are very minimal, it was satisfactory. Above all the resort's host Mr Cyril is one of the best host's I have seen in along time. He went above and beyond in making sure that our stay in the resort was comfortable. It's really tough to find a kind and humble person like Cyril in a place like Anjuna! Cyril being a local knows most of the good places in goa and he keeps himself updated with the right information. He was able to suggest us the right bars/ clubs to vist according to our music taste which I found very helpful. Over all out stay in Sea horse was really good and all thanks to Cyril. I will def stay in Sea horse the next time I vist Goa and will happily recommend this place to friends!
In the middle of anjuna”
The rooms are clean and the mood there is brilliant. A few steps and u can relax on the beach and enjoy the food/drinks from the very friendly staff. I dont think another place in anjuna would have provided us this help and comfort in a nonstop party beach
Amazing staff, location and value for money”
I can not say enough great things about my stay at Sea Horse Cottages and the staff that made our stay a very memorable experience. We stayed for 4 days over New years. The rooms are small but comfortable, clean and we were able to request extra towels, sheets and pillows with no trouble ior extra cost involved. The food was great and the service provided by the staff was efficient, friendly and timely. The location is amazing, just 200 metres between our cottage and the beach. I would not hesitate recommending this place for travellers who are after a simple, clean, affordable and friendly place to stay.
Amazing staff, ok everything else”
The staff went above and beyond to make your stay they best that it could be. Delicious food, although we only at vegetarian items. The bass from neighbouring bars could be herd in your cattage until it ended at 3am, but this is common for places on anjuna beach. The rooms was spotless when we arrived but we did have some bug issues which could be expected for the cottage style accommodation. Overall, a good stay but got tired of the beyond loud music all day and night.
Firstly, the service they provide is wonderful. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. For instance, we were 5 of us and wanted to go to cabana, the hotel arranged for a taxi to drop us and later pick up at ANY TIME in the night. Bikes and stuffs like that were arranged instantly by the hotel. Food is great too. The cottages were quite good as well. The only major drawback is that they don't take credit/debit cards. But pretty much the whole of goa doesn't take cards. So that was a problem everywhere. Had to carry cash which was annoying. Otherwise, it's a great place to stay and I would definitely stay there the next time I go to goa. Wonderful experience!
Perfect beach resort in budget”
Stayed there in dec. 2014. The stay was comfortable. Cottages are pretty clean and tidy, not very high-fi but nice. Don't go looking for TV\fridge etc. Staff is very friendly. Manager Cyril takes good care, as does the rest of staff including Romeo and Sonu. Ok, negatives : Wifi works only in the outside bar area, not in cottages. If you're booking extra bed, be aware, you get extra mattress (the one used on beach chairs), not a BED. Book directly through the hotel (as they charge only 300 for it) and not agoda (as they charge 1000/-). You can book just the cottage and request extra mattress once you reach there. Place is little inside but that's what makes it worth a place to relax and enjoy away from maddening crowd of Bagha and Candolim.
