We stayed at the Shangri-la Apartments, 5 adults and 5 children. The apartment was quite roomy although the kitchen quite small. It was good to be close to the Shangri-la Hotel for some meals and relaxation around the pool. It was great to have the shuttle bus going every hour to all the plazas and the Orchard Rd Railway station. It was an easy walk to and from Orchard Road. We'd stay there again. Service not up to par ”
We arrived very early from an international flight at 730am and enquired about an early check in a few months and then a few weeks prior to checking in and always got the blunt answer that we check closer to the day of check in and there’s no guarantee. Then on the day before we asked again via email and got another blunt answer that it was impossible to check in early and early check in was 2pm. Then when we arrived at 1030am, we got told that we have to pay a half day charge in order to check in early . I was willing to pay but my friend who had made a separate booking for same accomodation refused on the basis of principle . The rooms were available for us in the end at 11am after much discussion and negotiation. This was not our first stay at the apartments and my level of expectation on this accomodation of quality of service and professionalism has dropped significantly. The cleanliness of the apartment / bathroom is also very poor for shangri la standards . The shower curtain always smelt soggy and whatever was requested on the weekend was never dealt with till Monday. The shower curtain issue never got better. Water pressure on the shower was weak and at one point when we were trying to shower my 5yo, there was no water coming thru the showers and when I called reception, they apologised but couldn’t give a time of it being dealt with due to other “emergencies” from the engineering dept. . Again poor service and communication . Then water started coming back in miraculously after 40 mins and we had to call reception to tell them it was no longer urgent but no response from them prior to this at all and it was on our initiative so that they didn’t feel pressured to deal with our “minor” in their eyes issue. Service always was done with a cursory smile but it doesn’t seem at all genuine . Hardly shangri la service that I expected as we spent a bit of time at the hotel which was connected and the service there was another level.
Amazing for kids ”
The kids play ground buds was mind blowing. And so so clean. Our kids ( 3 years and 1.5 years ) has a ball of a time ! The restaurants in hotel ( Shang palace esp ) was really good. 1 bedroom Apartment was decent size overall a must stay if you are travelling with kids. The hotel pool was better than the apartment pool ! U get access to the hotel and pool even if u stay Im Apartments.
location is good but furnishing and decor is alittle dated. this is all fine but the service provided is very poor. considering that this is more a serviced apt than hotel, the staff prefer to serve the longer term patrons and ignore the shorter term ones.
Friendly Staff and Great Location”
From the beginning to the end of our trip the stay as outstanding. Jimmy who checked us in was so friendly and kind to help us with advice and taxi bookings - was so accommodating to a large group of us and was more than we could ask for. The hotel was always clean, facilities were great - day spa on site which was a welcomed bonus. I’ve eaten at their high tea previously and I highly recommend it. It’s like none other that I’ve seen before. The apartment is conveniently located minutes walk from Orchard Road which I walked to and from almost everyday. Would definitely come back here.

I love Shangri-La Apartments as the surrounding is green with so many trees. The location is also perfect, Orchard Road is in walking distance. The breakfast is fascinating too. The Line restaurant is beautiful.
Big room, great service”
The room had everything we needed. It was spacious. The bathroom in the master bedroom was a little bit small for me and my parents. I had to stay in the master bedroom because there were only 2 single beds in the 2nd room. This is good for 4 persons at best unless the 5th person is willing to sleep in the sofa or, like me, in the master bedroom. They had an assortment of food in the kitchen. It was in a basket. Really useful as we ate some of it. There is no cleaning service on Sunday and they change beddings only every other day. Overall though, everything was in top shape, service was great. The place is super clean! The view from our hotel room was nice! The bus stop was a bit of a walk though. We took a taxi everytime we had to go out which, when added together, got expensive in the end.
Water Heater to our room always not working. If is is working the Hot water only lasts for first few minutes . Room too old. Housekeeping do not replenish toiletries always have to call operator for it.

The location, facilities and amenities of this apartment are very satisfactory and recommendable. However, I think it is strange that refunds paid at the time of check-in are not refunded until the week after check-out.I think that speedy handling of this will be the priority for the best hotel.
Good apartments with space and access to all Shangri-La benefits ”
We stayed in 2bdr apartment for a few days stopover and it was the perfect tonic after being in Japan. Spacious apartment with comfortable beds though decor still a little dated with marbled and somewhat OTT furnishings. But with access to hotel facilities this made up for it all. The apartment pool was smaller but still adequate though maybe too chlorinated. The only disappointing issue was the apartments weren’t linked to the Shangri-La rewards program. Staff were friendly and helpful as always.

Because reception is only there at certain times, be careful if you are checking in or out at odd times. If you call and there is no pick up, call the hotel and ask to be transferred to the apartments. Suits independent families with older kids.
Great hotel. Wonderful service. Jimmy the Duty Manager was our highlight. He was so friendly and helpful - made our stay easy and fun. We loved him. So many facilities and great spaces for children. Definitely highly recommend to families.

Pros : -Well equiped Kitchen, coffee machine, full size refrigerator, bread toaster, rice cooker,oven cooking range and pans. -Each floor has a washing machine and dryer also several in B1 -Short walk to Orchard Rd -nice pool -free coffee in the lobby -near a supermarket (cold storage at claymont) - clean rooms we got 2 br and it was very comfy as we were a family of 5.
No House Keeping on Saturday , Sunday and Public Holiday ( Not mentioned during booking ) ”

Hotel staffs are all super friendly, breakfast was excellent and impeccable, only things is the room and the hotel itself is a little bit old.

We loved our stay at the Shangri La , fabulous rooms , lovely grounds and pool and very helpful staff. Would gladly stay there again. Close walk to Orchard Rd , but very quiet area.
