Walking distance from subway station”
The location is very convenient since it's just a 5-min walk to and from the subway station. It was quite a challenge to find the hotel the first time but it was easy after that. There's a Family Mart and Lawson and various restaurants within walking distance too. The hotel room is quite small, which is normal for Tokyo. But I was surprised to see that the bathroom is quite spacious and even had a bath tub. On our first night, we can't get our airconditioner to work and the staff on shift very kindly talked to the reception to give us a different room. I would definitely consider this hotel again when we go back to Tokyo.
Spacious, friendly staff, a bit difficult to find”
We stayed there June 1 - 6 with my family group. Room was very spacious. Even the bathroom was spacious. High value for money and staff very helpful especially Amy. Near train stations too but shopping area is still about 3 blocks away. City Nuts not on main road so if we ask locals where it is whenever we get lost, they do not know where it is too.
The room we stayed in were really nice. It is spacious and very clean. The staff were friendly and will attend to all your queries. Asked for hair iron, they provided right away and its free of charge. Very quiet place. Will recommend this especially for a family of 4.
We stayed for 7 nights. It's a clean quiet hotel, with lots of 7/11 and eateries nearby. Location is approx. 15 walk away from Shinjuku main station. Most of the staff on duty speaks English. Overall, it is a pleasant stay.
Enjoyed our stay but could be better”
Location is great- on a quiet street but close to the lively part of Shinjuku. Also close to a station. The room was ok- we had a nonsmoking room reserved but got a smoking one. It smelled like an ashtray. Bathroom was really nice though and recently rennovated. The main room was older and a little beat up. Still a nice size though. Staff are friendly and speak English, which was helpful.
Great Stay at Shinjuku City Hotel NUTS!”
The group had a great time; room is spacious and clean, location is very near to Shinjuku Gyoenmae station. Love also the free 3 glasses of refreshment a day. Staff esp. the receptionist and housekeeping were very accommodating.
Nice location and friendly staff.”
Hotel is located near Gyoen Park Small restaurants in the area that are pretty good including japanese curry restaurants and subway. Laundry service available and reasonable . Hotel toiletries and bath supplies are good quality Bathroom has a huge whirlpool tub which was really helpful and relaxing after a long day of walking Shinjuku station is a few minutes walk , lots of stores to go to including Isetan and Takashimaya square So much to see and do even in Shinjuku only. Hotel is also 2 mins walking distance to Family Mart or 7 eleven Japan involves a lot of walking so be sure to pack some comfy sneakers.
Convenient and good standard”
Our stays were over expectation, actually! When we first saw the pictures in the app, they looked a bit old but the rooms turned very new and clean. I'm really impressed with the amenities in the room and bathroom. The bathroom is quite big and necessary brand named amenities provided--Tsubaki shampoo and conditioner, Shiseido lotions and Pola moiturizers. The room size was enough to put in 3-4 big bags. But the common computer cannot use the Internet and the wifi was a bit slow and not stable.
No housekeeping ”
Location near Gyoen park, about 5 mins walk. 10-15 mins walk to Shinjuku JR or Shinjuku Kabukicho more happening area. No housekeeping done, only towel changed and rubbish bin cleared. Room space just nice to accommodate 4 adults and a child with 2 big and 2 small luggage but recommend for max 4 adults.
Excellent stay!!! Very helpful and friendly staff!!! Excellent WiFi!!!”
I was worried about this hotel when I read previous reviews but i’m So glad we stayed here. We stayed in the building next door, I think because we booked the family room (triple room?). We had 3 adults and 2 young kids (both under 5) The room was nice and clean, looked like they remodeled it. Bathroom modern. Spacious room. TV even had Netflix for us to use!! This was awesome because the kids got to watch cartoons in the mornings. WiFi was excellent. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. They helped us book our seats for the shuttle bus to the airport and answered all our questions. They even heated our meals for us. Close to the metro. I would book this hotel again next time we’re In Tokyo.
Very accessible. Near the train station and convenient store. ”
The room is quite small but very clean specially the toilet. Accommodating staff except for the younger lady on duty when we arrived earlier than check in time. One of my companions tried to assist the lady put our luggages inside the room but she accidentally stepped on the floor inside the room with her shoes on. The reaction of the lady staff scared us, with a loud voice and angry face told us to remove our shoes. Yes it was our mistake but she should have said it in a nice manner. The rest of the staff are friendly and nice to us. I love the "free juice" and other cold drinks in the reception area. From the hotel is 5 mins. walk to gyoenmae sub-station and 10 mins walk to Shinjuku Station. A lot of restaurants within the vicinity and about 5 minutes walk to shinjuku gyoenmae national garden.
Great affordable, basic accommodation in a good location”
Good location, a short walk from Shinjuku Gyoemmae station, 15 min walk from Shinjuku centre and Kabukicho and close to lots of restaurants/bars/shops. The room was basic and comfortable. A little small - most of the room was taken up by a double and single bed. There was nowhere to store our big suitcases so we just put them on the spare bed. The bathroom was quite spacious. It's great, affordable accommodation if you're going to be out and about all day and just need somewhere to sleep/shower. The staff were very friendly and stored our luggage on our last day.
Not worth the money at all”
We are a family of 3 + 1 infant so we booked the room that should fit 5 people nicely. How disappointing it was to see such a small room and very tight spaces. It is like a dorm where they are no space to walk at all. They just simply take 2 people bedroom and fit in extra beds to fit in 5 people wtf. With the money i paid, it is definitely NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. We spent 4 miserable nights in there!
We stayed on a Family room with 3 beds located on a building few step from the main hotel. Friendly staff especially Amy (Yamamoto) Will definitely comeback on this hotel and highly recommendable.
Favorite Hotel in Tokyo”
Stayed here again cause of it's perfect location and spacious rooms! It's super near the station Shinjuku Gyoenmae Marounochi Line. If you want to go to the heart of Shinjuku, just walk since on the way there you passby all the shopping centers! Recommended for tourists for sure! 😊
Very near to Train station”
As the taxi is very expensive in Tokyo, trains ormetro is my option to travel around in Tokyo. This hotel serve perfect location for it. But please be aware that the check out is at 10am. Smoking area is in front of reception. Not suitable but I Am ok with that.
Great Location, Elevator from track to the ground, Convenience store such as Family mart, Lawson, 7-11, Supermarket and Department store, Clean, Can walk to Shinjuku station so easy to access JR, Keio and Metro
2nd Stay and found even better”
This was our 2nd stay in this hotel. Thanks to the completion of JR Shinjuku Station South Exit renovation, we found it is quite convenient in walking directly from South Exit back and forth to the hotel, even with luggage. The room is even more spacious the previous (3 adults). Only comment is the cleaned towels were placed on the shelf outside the bathroom, so sometimes we forgot to take before shower. Installing a rack in the bathroom for towels would help.
Relaxing, Spacious Room”
It was great. The reception was 24 hours so I could check in late. Receptionists spoke good English and provided list of rules and policies in English. The room was spacious and clean and modern with surround sound speakers for my phone/ipod, soft plastic floors in bathroom and wooden flooring in room, great amenities for men and women, wifi, communal computers with free fast internet access on some floors although couldn't find English TV channels as advertised. About 10 to 15 minutes walk from Shinjuku Station although that wasn't my destinstion so I didn't mind. Looks a bit shabby from the outside but nice sleek rooms with complimentary soft drinks and ice chips in reception.
