    Good Location, but not worth the money!!!”
    Pros : Good Location, calm and peaceful. Cons: I had booked the rooms 1month before, since i wanted a room with Balcony, but even after repeated follow ups with the resort, you keep getting the same answer. They have only few rooms with balcony and confirm on it only a day prior to your check-in. I did call-in a day before, but they informed me that, it can only be confirmed during check-in. I went there with a lot of excitement, but was totally disappointed as they said, there a no balcony rooms available and kept explaining me a repetitive Story. So, in nutshell, the rooms with balcony will only be given to Members, unless you go in a off peak season. Second thing is, there are a couple of recreational activities, but everything is chargeable, other than the complimentary breakfast, there is nothing covered here. Third thing is, the Housekeeping did a good job by making our room neat and clean, but the room was stinking as they never cleaned the garbage at all. Food is also average

    Great place to stay, however food is extremely disappointing ”
    We were two families with infants and booked it in the peak of the season. The stay in the hotel is hassle-free, he staff is attentive and helpful, however when it comes to food, this is NOT a great place at all. Breakfast had multiple options and it was a good experience on the first day, that's why we decided to have dinner in the Fern, however to our disappointment, the food was microwave cooked, even the rice. Upon asking the waiter said this is a usual practice that food is precooked and heated in microwave before serving. We called the Chef and he said they do not use microwave (clearly not true), the food was so bad that we all left it as is, and the worst part was that we were still charged for it without a single rupee of cut out of courtesy. Saying all that, I would still recommend the place for stay as this is one of the most beautiful place to stay in Ooty.

    Spacious Rooms with a lot of room for improvement!”
    The resort is located a bit away from the city which is fine. Great facilities and amenities. We booked a privilege suite which is a large 1BHK, big enough for a family with two kids. But the bathroom was smelly, we had to use aroma oils to get rid of the smell. Overall, a good place to stay if only they can improve their service and cleanliness.

    Some of the staff are not fit to be in the hospitality industry & lack basic etiquettes that are expected from a star property like sterling. Some staff were really good & helpful while some of them behaved like they are working in some cheap lodge

    Swiped my credit card twice for payment and not paying my balance payment of Rs.5500”
    I am very disappointed to stay at fern hill resort. Very first thing the resort did is they took 10000 from me on check in and on the same evening of 13th June 2016 sterling holidays used my credit card detail to withdraw approx 14350 the total amount for stay of two days. As I informed the resort manager and front desk people they took evening of 14th June to confirm that they have take extra 10000 from me. They denied to pay me back in cash and told me that they will pay the balance approx 5500 after deducting the food bills to my account. I am calling Mr. Magesh for last so many days but he initially told that payment is done and now is not attending my phone last two days. Please help me to recover my money.it was really a disgusting stay

    Not met the expectations.... much disappointing........service recovery was good....”
    Front desk team need to improve a lot on their work... they didn't pickup my call, they promised me initially they will guide me once i reach ooty. However after reaching Ooty no one picked up the call more than an hour resulting i have ended up in jungle with no proper roads and guidance. Lost the mobile signal. Imagine you are driving with family and if you come across the situation. After reaching the hotel Front desk staff took their own time to allocate the room and didn't bother of their mistake. After a day long tired drive and after that almost 2 hours i lost on locating the hotel, they checked into a dirty room, which i got totally annoyed. Then it took more than 60 minutes to give another room. But to the worst the room had a foul smell, couldn't stay there for a minute. Then the FOM came for rescue and offered another room which we waited for an hour. Now I HAD to compromise on size of the room, though I had paid more for Privilege SUITE. By then I HAD LOST MY FIRST DAY (out of 3 days stay) and completely lost interest travelling there. Second day F&B Manager met me during my breakfast and he is kind enough to take my grievances to GM and in turn GM apologised and assured the best services. By then 2 days are gone. Only thing I felt good was the approach of GM & F&B Manager and last minute approach by FOM to recover, though my trip was not great this time. Except the Front desk team, rest all team attended good, especially F&B Service team and the manager, very prompt and proactive approach gave us little good feel.
