Calm place, perfect for weekend relax”
Very calm and beautiful place.....nice rooms really close to beach, nice beachbeds, marvellous snorkeling in the morning (during afternoon it was a low tide), delicious meals in restaurant, massage available. Best place for a weekend getaway if you want to get some rest from Cebu.
A slice of paradise! ”
The facilities are great, the pool and various places around the property to hangout are great, there are almost too many shaded areas, laying in the pool is the only place to sunbath (not the worst because there are ledges around the whole thing). The balcony's with hammocks are a dream when it's raining! The rooms are clean and so was the bathroom even though it could use an update. We also loved the restaurant. This was our main concern with staying on Olongo, the restaurant choices would be limited. The food is homestyle cooking, which I thought was perfect. The food isn't too greasy and the flavors are balanced. After a week a might run out of options, but for 4 days I was very happy to reorder dishes with slight modifications to make it feel like I was ordering something new! I think they should easily charge much more for the rooms and 350 a massage is great! Ask for Michelle, she was my favorite out of everyone I tried. I paid for the boat transfer, 500 for the taxi and 975 for the boat. This is the way to go, the room price is so much more competitive than anything on Mactan for what you are getting, even with this extra cost, the entire thing is a deal. The Dive shop next door is very convenient, but Mokie's equipment is a little old and could use a refresh. But his dive choices were good and we arranged island hopping through him as well. I'll be back again for sure, finding this property will make me visit Cebu more often.
Great ocean view resort”
Totally relaxed with wonderful ocean view and cozy sea breeze. Comfortable to stay with friendly staffs, nice garden and silent place. Easy transportation, not so far from Mactan island to Olango island and the resort, just by boat and motorbike(tricycle).
The hotel was quiet and peaceful.”
I loved my stay at the hotel, the staff was so friendly. Them meals were fresh and so good, and served promptly. The swimming pool was big and nice, and there was so much nature around the hotel You can bike the island, or walk around.
Peaceful & Relaxing”
My wife and I had an enjoyable stay at this nice, little resort. The swimming pool and room was very nice. The design of the resort is beautiful and the scenery is very peaceful. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food prices are a bit high... and there isn't an actual sand beach, but overall our time there was quite nice.
Quiet, small basic villas compound”
Remote location, which can be a plus if you want to escape the noise and pollution of Cebu. As a consequence though there is nothing to see or do around other than diving with Mokie. Average, albeit clean and quiet rooms, average food. Good location for diving in front of the marine park. Large garden with easy sofas to catch the beeze and relax with a seaview
An absolute Paradise - Beautiful! ”
Talima Beach Resort is an absolute paradise holiday! I recommend it 100% to everyone. The Staffs are attentive, friendly, the location and facilities ohhh WOW!!! its Paradise! will definitely going back.
Great Place to stay on Olango Island”
The Staff is very accommodating and wonderful attitude. You will enjoy the food and just ask for what you would like and they will make it for you. The grounds are very nice, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool is clean and inviting. I highly suggest you take in the snorkeling and island hopping. Just ask and they will make it happen. A very wonderful experience.
Quick island getaway”
If you want a place to get away from it all, but have only a day to spare, this is it. A thirty minute drive from Cebu City to Movenpick port, a 15-minute, 15-peso pumpboat ride to Olango island, and a 4.5km 150-peso tricycle ride will take you to this unassuming, quiet resort. No sandy beach to speak of but you can take a dip in the water as it is very clean. The pool is quite ordinary. But there are cabanas and lounge chairs to watch the sea and stare at the night sky. I once took a four-hour drive to Moalboal to do the exact same thing. Good thing we found this hidden getaway so close to the city. Amenities were basic but clean. If you want to be pampered like royalty, this isnt the place for you. But if you want some simple relaxation that will not break the bank, this is it. P.S. If you are travelling in a big group, a boat can take you from Movenpick port straight to the resort for PHP1k. That will save you the hassle of taking several tricycles from Olango port.
Good for rest and relaxation ”
Quiet. No videoke and loud music/noises. Good for swimming/snorkeling and rest and relaxation. The restaurant has excellent tinola and calamares at reasonable prices. Breakfast set meal is generous (with fruits). Typical in Filipino accommodations though: no bidet and hot water.
Calm and beautiful place, great room, friendly staff but far from all”
We spend 3 days in Talima Beach resort in the Sinamay room (the best I think with direct view to the sea). We are very happy to choose this resort. The view and accommodation are great. Even if there is no beach, at high tide, it is possible to go swimming and snorkeling at the reef about 70 m. It is great but there are many tourist boat ant not the best area in Philippines. Otherwise, there is the beautiful swimming pool and sea breeze to relax. The staff were friendly and helpful. it's a shame that tour Arrangements or rental were not proposed in a book in the room. Perhaps we will do over thing. The restaurant is find but not excellent. For us, it is too fat. But try the Ceviche course (I don't remember the name - fish with lemon) and fried banana, they were delicious. Be careful, it is far from Cebu, about 2h by motorbike (15 mn - 150 p), boat (30 mn - 20 p/pers) and taxi (1h - 300 p) and you have to come back before 5:30... It's a pity the room were not cleaned every day
Perfect for stress-relieving...very peaceful community away from the city.”
Don't expect for high-end facilities. This place is the best for soul-searching, retreat-type of vacation. You'll have both sunrise and sunset views. It is located in a very peaceful and rural community surrounded by water. You'll feel relaxed and refreshed after your stay. Food is also good. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
A little paradise, a great staff”
Spent there 2 nights. I loved the place at first sight. Basic bungalows, aircon (little noisy) + fan + anti mosquitos tend around the bed.: very romantic. There's a swimming pool with a little "bubble-section" (can't be named "Jacuzzi, but it's nice). Excellent kitchen, home made dishes. The place is just like the pics show up. Do not expect a real "beach" tough: there's one when the sea level gets down, but w/rocks and coconuts on the bottom (you'd need scuba shoes). You don't choose this place for the beach anyway, but because it's the closest one to the sea reserve: best place from where heading to SCUBA divings. Don't use th enext-door dibing center (expansive), ask to the supervisor (a lovely woman, along with her excellent, nice, humble team!) for advices. Also, if you are a group 4 ppl/more, get a direct private boat from the lapu-lapu port, to this hotel. PROS: open-air coaches, staff, food&cocktails. CONS: no internet, poor 3G signal (get Smart, not Globe data SIM cards).
Great get away”
This is my first time to the island and what a great stay the food is great and the accommodation is clean and comfortable. Experienced one of the frequent power outages experienced on the island but this just added to the atmosphere and power was restored quickly. Great way to see he real Philippines.
Rude snobbish staff but Nice resort”
Resort is nice but WORST staff ever in my one month in Philippines! They are only nice to guests who eat at their over-priced restaurant and tip them! I say so because I saw they treated those customers with smile and greetings, which we never received during our 1.5 day stay. We were two girls, one Asian and one Philippino. My Philippiono friend could contact transportation and took me out to different places. So we did not need to rely on the resort for errands. The staff knew they probably could not make extra money when they first saw us. Upon afternoon arrival check-in, one long haired older lady with glasses and one younger lady were very cold and unwelcoming, no smile, no greeting, unwilling to answer questions, and with ZERO briefing about facilites and water in the front. It seemed like they did not like us to stay there at all. The younger lady threw a piece of paper on the table aside, without even saying a word! I did not know that paper was for me. I had to ask if I should sit at that table to fill it up. She answered with one nod and sound from her nose, without a word! She even did not ask for our passports. When I asked her, she said no need to check ID. This was my first in life hotel check-in without being asked for ID. They are so irresponsible! When I booked the room, it said one queen bed but with picture showing 2 smaller beds put together. So I asked if they had 2-bed room or could separate the beds(just like the beds on some cruise ship) for us. She said "but you booked an economy room" with disdain. Then I explained their picture was showing 2 beds put together. She said "no we don't have", without explaning anything about the picture. For the whole time, the older lady just sat there not saying a word. Later I came out asked where to snorkle. The younger lady simply pionted at the front with two words"just there." I also asked about the Dive Shop next door becuase they were closed when I went. The older lady said "they were open th
Fantastic Service at Talima Beach Villas and Dive Resort”
We had a most enjoyable and relaxing time at the Talima Beach Villas. The Family Poolside Room was clean and spacious. It came equipped with mosquito netting over the two queen size beds, A/C and a fan. The island struggles with providing electricity to all, however, with the A/C running combined with the fan, we had no problem enjoying a comfortable rest every night. Talima Beach Villas is located about 10-15 minutes from the port by tricycle and is a bit "out of the way" from any outside conveniences but if you're looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, days filled with water activities and quiet moonlit nights, Talima Beach Villas is a fantastic option. The property there is large and overlooks a marine fish sanctuary. In the distance, was a beautiful panoramic view of Mactan Island. It was the perfect setting for diving and/or snorkeling. There is a large swimming pool situated in the center of the property which was both clean and refreshing and an abundance of trees, shrubs and flora throughout the property creates a relaxing island atmosphere for rest and relaxation. An onsite restaurant is available to all guests. It was a bit pricey, but when we got a taste of the cuisine there, it was totally worth the price. I have to say, Their food is among some of the best I have ever had during my 13 year travels in the Philippines. The service was outstanding and the employee's never failed to have a genuine smile on their faces. On our second day, we decided to take an island hopping tour. The General Manager made all the arrangements for us at an affordable price. They even assisted us with packing a picnic basket of delicious food for lunch. We spent all day on the water and the boatmen were most helpful, friendly and accommodating. It quickly became very obvious that they are both experienced professionals at what they do. They were very accommodating and knowledgeable. This tour has to be the highlight of our stay. Finally, I have
beautiful view but not for snorckling”
Pos: 1-quiet; 2- beautiful view; 3-near Macy an island Neg: 1-not possible for snorckling; 2-difficult to go out of resort 3-air con is loud and NOT cold 4-many mosquito in room 5-food are really expensive
Great Snorkeling & Relaxing Holiday”
No regrets in booking 10 days stay with Talima for my family of 4. We got upgraded to a villa with 2 rooms with a nice living room, kitchenette and deck balcony instead of our original booking of 2 separate rooms. My husband and I had amazing snorkeling adventures everyday by simply swimming out in front of the resort. Many thanks for the helpful staff especially the elderly woman in charge who make our stay so wonderful. Will definitely come back again
Relaxing time at a secluded island”
If you want peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle of Cebu city, this is the place to be. Spent the whole day chilling at the resort and snorkelling when it gets hot as marine sanctuary only a couple of hundred meters away from their beach. During low tide you can actually walk towards the sanctuary to snorkel. Rustic accommodation but clean, well kept and looked after. The staff on the island (Nadine and Neil) were very attentive, cheerful, friendly and helpful - absolutely love them to bits! The owner, Horst Erwin, made sure to welcome us and arranged our transfers upon request. Talk about personal service! There is also a diving centre next to the resort if you want to scuba dive.
