Esta Guesthouse fica a poucos minutos da rua principal. Tem um bar/restaurante em frente ao rio que foi maravilhoso para os nossos finais de tarde. O quarto é limpo e é mais do que suficiente para descansar, pois nesta cidade maravilhosa só apetece passear! O anfitrião foi incansável connosco! Deu-nos muitas dicas e recomendações fiáveis para conhecermos a cidade e recebeu-nos sempre com um grande sorriso e simpatia. É muito verdade. Adoramos a nossa estadia! Desejamos voltar!

Fantastic”

Eric is fantastic and would suggest booking through him. I was on trip at a fraction of the price when speaking to people from other hotels. Location is fab you can walk 2 minutes to aims giving (don’t have to get up soo early) you come out turn right then first right again it’s a side street so not busy. Near palace museum as well. The restaurant was a great spot to sit and watch the sunset and you also get a discount. The only thing I could say as a negative but really it is personal preference is the mattress was very very hard.

Great location, friendly staff and owner, comfortable bed, nice shower. Room itself might be a bit small for two people, but it was a good size for myself. They have waterfall tour, which is nice, especially for solo travelers. Their restaurant has a nice view and wide range of food options, you can also get discounts. You can't find a comfortable place in this price. I would definitely stay again.

I booked this place based on the photo of the deck/restaurant overlooking the river. The place is like a small boutique hotel run by a French guy Eric. He's very friendly and definitely knows how to deal with people with this int'l background. I didn't have much chance to deal with the staff as Eric is pretty much always around, so I rated the staff field based on Eric's professionalism. Very central, discount at cafe for guests, clean bathroom and nice working AC. The only downside is the size of the room. I was a solo traveller, so it was okay (but still a tad bit on the small size), but cannot imagine 2 people sleeping there. It was the most standard room I believe. If you're a couple, book the bigger room.

We stayed at View Khemkhong for 3 nights and we had a very pleasant experience overall. The prrioerty is located on the quiet side of Luang Prabang by the mekong River, but still close enough to the main street (about 15 mins walk). They have their own resto which we didn't get to try unfortunately. 2 of my favorite coffee shops are on the same street as the property (Big Tree and Saffron) Tun and Ampai the 2 folks manning the reception / front desk were very accommodating and as informative as they could be. If they didn't know the answer they'd ask help from whoever could. The only downside is they could have done a better job cleaning the room. While they did try to tidy the room itself and they did fix the sheets, I don't believe they did the same with the bathroom.

Warm and friendly owner and great spot by the river”

The room has all that you need and the bed was comfortable. The restaurant across the road is owned by the guesthouse and has great views of the Mekong. Eric the owner was very helpful and friendly. Cats live here which is great as they are really cute. Location wise it's right near all the main attractions but just far away enough from the main centre that you feel like you are in a peaceful area. Would stay here again.

Good location with kind staff”

I stayed there for 2 nights , was impressed since arrival. Eric welcomed us and always ask how we are, also recommend us in many things. The location is easy ,just 5 minutes walk to the market and in front with the river. The room is ok too , worth for money. If I come back again I will definite back to stay there.

A cosy room at a good price.”

This little hotel has very small rooms at a budget price. It's in a great location. The front verandah rooms are probably worth enquiring about. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant across the road is handy.

Very good value for money here as it’s situated right on the river near many great restaurants and a short walk into the city centre. The room is relatively basic but it was perfect for our stay and the staff were extremely helpful, with perfect english and were very kind and made the stay warm and welcoming. Ps there are four awesome cats

A wonderful stay for me! The owner is such a sweet lady and speaks very good English! The workers were all very patient as I tried to practice my Lao. Would definitely stay here again - such a great location!

Excellent Location and Nice Neighborhood During Songkran”

Well I didn't have a chance to meet manager as he left the same time I've been there but the staffs (cannot remember her name) were great. Guesthouse has Khong river in front(with a road). Not far from major attractions and Saffron cafe. We went on Songkran holiday. Locals started playing on 14th in front of the guesthouse (Neighborhoods are great) and next 2 streets where they mainly play there. Just walk around 5-10 mins Cleanliness is good. Only thing that annoying me is my bed has a sound of bad spring bed so every time I moved.... but the rest is fine. All in all, it's worth the money.

Excellent location to explore Luang Prabang with friendly owner”

We really enjoyed our stay in Luang Prabang at View Khemkhong. The location was perfect, walking distance to everything in town and close to a lot of restaurants and coffee shops. The owner Eric was super friendly and helpful as well, organizing a shared taxi for several of us to the Kuang Si Falls for a better price. The restaurant (across the street) had pretty good food and for staying at the hotel you got a 20% discount which made it very affordable compared to a lot of the places in Luang Prabang. The cashew fried rice was awesome. The only downsides were that our room was REALLY small, and we could barely open our suitcases which was a bit challenging. The wifi also didn't really work, but we found that to be a challenge in Laos in general. Both of these weren't a big deal, I would recommend staying here!

Amazing ”

Eric was an amazing host. He made our stay in Luang Prabang go from great to amazing. The superior room was stunning and centrally located, Eric was very hospitable, and the food and views of the Mekong in the restaurant were excellent. We hope to return to KhemKhong Guesthouse soon!

How a hotel should be run”

After the arduous slow boat from Huay Xai this hotel is exactly what the doctor ordered! An incredible setting with the loveliest staff who treat you as a human, not as a customer. There's no fakeness here, just genuine care and attention on a personal level and I want to say a massive thank you to Eric, Caman and the rest of the gang for an unforgettable stay in Luang Prabang. I speak on behalf of a pair we were travelling with at the time too. One downside, a minor inconvenience, breakfast is not included whereas other places do. However, it's 20% discount at the restaurant on everything making it the cheapest beer in town to my knowledge. A cosy room, a stunning sunset dinner by the Mekong and the funniest French man this side of the ocean. You can't say that about the Hilton.

A Lovely, Welcoming Stay! ”

While waiting for a piece of mail we ended up staying in Luang Prabang for a week rather than our expected 3 nights, and were so happy to have booked here. Eric, the owner, was the most welcoming and helpful host! He offered us a map and listed out the best things to do in town, and organizes cheap trips to the waterfall for his guests. We constantly were updating our travel plans and he was always happy to accommodate and flexible with our needs. Our mail never arrived in time, but Eric has offered to get it to us whenever it does. The room was clean, tidied up every day, and comfortable - and the building had a unique, interesting structure. The hotel was in a great location, next to the water and a short walk from the night market. Bonus: there were 4 playful kittens always running about during our stay that made me want to stay even longer! Would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable and friendly stay in LP.

Super clean, Nice location and Great staff”

The room is a kind of small but everything is well maintained and kept very clean. Convenient location to go anywhere and the staff are so much helpful. The local guy at the reception speaks very good English and his work is so smooth and accurate which is often rare when traveling SE Asia.
