I'm use to stay in dormitory and deal with pple, light on during the night, snor and noise. I carry ear plugs and sleep mask = problem solved. But more than this reglar pb, an old senile woman where "sleeping" on the lower bed. She was clapping hands all the night, talking to God in different languages, smelling, walking naked around the room and covered of injuries which were bleeding because she was scratching them. Her bed was covered of blood and being change everyday. I asked to change room, the hostel was all full so not possible. She looked like an homeless. I think a hostel is not a place for her. She deserves to be treated properly in a place adapted to her needs. I suggest the hostel to be more careful to the people they are hosting. Fortunately she was kind of "peaceful" and not a threat for others but who knows what can happen in her mind. -Also no breakfast possibility -Not enough shower for everyone -Staff entering in the room by night to check if we checked in.
Convenient and near to the subway, staff very helpful.
Okay and reasonably priced place to stay”
Okay place to stay, close to the city centre. Downstairs pub noisy but also providing the opportunity to grab a late night pint ;-) . Beds and dorms okay (depending on fellow travellers: The metal bunks have comfy mattresses, pillows and duvets, but are a bit rattly when the person in the other bunk gets in. The guy above me went up with his SUITCASE in his SHOES and stored EVERYTHING neatly IN his bed. The lockers in the dorms only fit day pack-sized luggage. Washrooms are unisex and a bit crammed but OK.
Somebody was on my bed before I came in, they didn’t clean my bed because it looked tidy. I only saw how dirty it was after I moved the pillow and blanket. It’s not the hostel’s fault. Remember to use the first floor’s multiple washrooms, don’t queue for the second floor’s only washroom
every thing well”
everything well but the doors are too annoying which make too much noise
I did sleep well here. However, there is inadequate hospitality (abvsent staff) supervision. Easy for there to be room/bed/locker stealing. Tiny lockers. No shower soap and no overnight replenishment of bathroom supplies. Tiny coversheets. Tricky hotwater.
Drunk crashed through the room in the middle of the night”
Booked two beds in a six bedded dorm to find that there are no such things there, we were in a nine bunk room. Each bunk is three levels high rather than the two levels advertised. Room was clean - at least to start with. Toilet and showers were basic but clean. Noisy which you would expect above a pub. Alcohol served to residents throughout the night and one of the residents in the dorm we'd booked crashed through the room loudly at gone three in the morning waking us up loudly muttering and grunting, clearly very intoxicated. A short while later this man got up, stripped off and urinated down the door narrowly missing our suitcase and my boots. We were given - given £60 cash refund in the morning and apology from a helpful staff member who advised email Mark Gibbons at pub love for the remaining £100 - we had been booked for two nights. He apologised and agreed we would have a full refund. This did not happen and now he has stopped answering my emails. DON'T PUT YOURSELF THROUGH IT!
only for short stay”
(+) the location is perfect, 5 minutes walking to mrt. the bathroom is large. wifi is fast. value for money. (-) I booked dormitory room with 9 beds and the room is so small for 9 people. the room is at the upstair of the bar which is very noisy at night and you should enter the bar first to go to your room. the toilet is seperated wirh the rooms and a bit dirty.
Wouldn’t stay again ”
Mixed emotions - Pros: great location, surprisingly good food and friendly staff Cons: tiny dorm room, warm and musty, minimal hot water for shower, no hooks in bathroom for towel/toiletry bag, very loud/busy pub on main floor and can be difficult to get any help from staff during meal times. Oh and I found something nasty in my sheets on the second night. They couldn’t tell me what it was and I still have no clue! Wish I could include a picture, because as crazy as it sounds, it looked like it had a fingernail....
One customer - a troubled female - kept people awake. Very antisocial, and had door codes to several of the rooms. She was sleeping where she wanted! This place is next to massive rail builing site. Drilling at 8am!
Best choice if you wanna go to Harry Potter Studio”
It is close to the train station and you can walk to the shopping area in 30 minutes. The place is clean but not ventilated. There's no blind for each bed and the lowest deck is too close to the floor. Small bed for big people, but suitable for girls. Although they own a pub downstairs, you can hear nothing at night. It's quiet and definitely worth staying for a short trip.
I arrived and was made to wait 20 mins as night porter hadn't arrived when he finally did he was rude!! said I'd not paid even though I showed him I had paid eventually after being rude and disrespectful he sent me to a room the bunk beds were squeeky and room very very hot! unfortunately had Britain's worst snorer in the room! note to snorers don't stay in hostels to keep everyone else awake you selfish pigs!
Location is great! Staff too!”
My friend and I stayed for 2 nights in a 6-bed female dorm. It was good, no problems at all, but we think that 6 people in that room felt a little cramped. They had lockers, but one of them had no door, so if the room was full, one person would need to find a way to keep their things secure. The light in the room was too dim. The bed was good though, the linen too. They have towels to rent. The shared bathroom was ok, good shower, but it is a unisex bathroom. I didn't know that. And I never asked because I thought there would be separated restrooms. Well, maybe there are, but there was one right in front of our door, so... It wasn't a problem for us, but it is good to know. There are no lifts, so be aware if you are traveling with big suitcases. The pub underneath the hostel was great. It wasn't noisy, the food was really good. One of the best mac and cheese I ever had! amazing burgers too. The staff was kind and helpful. Actually, you go to the pub counter to check-in and it was fun because it feels like a tavern. For a pint, I recommend the Titanic Stout. Loved it. It was a short, but good stay. If you are traveling on a budget and want to stay very close to an underground and train station, this is the place. London Euston is 5 minutes away. Ah! And a TV Show was filmed right around the corner! If you like BBC Sherlock, 221B Baker Street (the TV one... the actual one is a few tube stations away) and Speedy's Café are just a few blocks away.
It's a good place to stop for a few hours in a dorm rather than pay £100 for a hotel room. Sleep will of course be limited, comfort is not your primary concern if you're here but I am a return customer because it's safe, warm and convenient.
below is pub , at night too noisy
The only reason why I wouldn't recommend this place is because at least during the summer, the rooms are very hot and humid throughout the day and night. I would hope that the weather conditions would be better at other times of the year, or if they installed better conditioning. My bed was also very squeaky. Everything else about it was okay. Bathrooms were grimey, but the bar area and outside area were nice. A decent, cheap option in a good location near transit and stuff.
Relatively clean but cramped budget room ”
Room- 3 double deck beds for the 5 of us, but there was insufficient floor space to lay out our luggage’s (only 3 luggages can be opened at any one time). There were lockers in the room, but no locks were provided. There were also no tables/ desks to put items temporarily. The lighting in the room was terrible, only 1 or 2 lamps poorly illuminate the room. There was only 1 fan, that was really dusty, but luckily it was cool enough during spring to open the windows and let the Breeze in. Toilet- there was NO private toilet although that was listed in the choice for 6 people rooms. The toilet was shared and unisex. Bring your own slippers as the toilet gets wet and dirty easily. At least there was toilet paper in the 2 cubicles whenever we needed the toilet. There’s no elevator up to the rooms from the pub. The stairs was cramped and rather steep, only allowing one person and One luggage up at any one time. Location- really good, close to a convenience store (to get bottled water as there’s no boiler in the room) and train station. It’s rather safe as well, just some people who come to enjoy a few drinks, but didn’t encounter any drunkards during our stay. Overall an okay experience for the Low price paid. Typical dormitory stay.
A small room with all ammenities”
The place has a nice pub below and it is a very cozy corner for a hostel. Everything was nicely prepared. Do note that no lift and the staircase quite narrow, not advisable for very big and bulky luggage. For light travellers, it's perfect. Staying at the hostel has some discount while dining at the pub below. Near Euston train station so good for travelling out London. Just a short walk and I can take train to travel to Manchester.
Old building, simple and basic rooms. No individual light and power station. The beds and floor are a bit squeaky. Location is fantastic for catching an early train but not a good place for travelers to exchange information cos the communal area is the pub downstairs. They offer some discount of the pub food to hostel guests and food was good.
Very clean and comfortable place”
But sometimes wi-fi was not working and u can hear next room sound but it was reasonable
