Fantastic location! ”
Nice cozy hotel with large rooms. The bathroom was amazingly huge! Staff all spoke english although some of them were pretty grumpy at times when asked for information. She even gave us the wrong information on how long it'll actually take to get to the train station and we almost missed the train. Other than that the other staff were rather helpful and service was most of the time with a smile. A short walk to the Xintiandi area & Huaihai Rd. The people exercising at Fuxing park is quite a sight in the morning!
Surely be back again”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Pudi Boutique Hotel. Its accessible location being in the heart of shanghai and of close proximity to the local metro, shopping areas and Fuxing Park makes it very convenient to move around visiting the local attractions as well as taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling city. The room where I stayed is clean, spacious and cosy, with the right touch of soft ambient lighting creating a luxurious feel. The king-sized bed is comfortably firm without being overly stiff, with soft covers and sheets completing the lushness. The pillows could do to provide a bit more support for the neck though. An innovative piece of furniture cleverly combines the bar and the television on either side of it, which can be moved with ease to whichever location you are in the room. The science-fiction inspired clock is able to project the time onto the ceiling to welcome you to the morning when you awake. This is unusually useful for lazy mornings where all you want to do is to laze in the comfortable bed, and without working a single muscle to turn your head to look at the time, when the morning eventually finds you. The bathroom is also beautiful and contemporary with the unique copper wash basins being a focal point. The deep and wide bathtub is also especially inviting. One need not pack any toiletries during their stay as the bathroom is adequately equipped with amenities. I particularly like the toothbrush for being easy on the gums yet ensuring an effective clean. The service provided by the hotel staff was also warm and immaculate, with nary a hint of unpleasantness to speak of. Fishes swimming happily in the glass tank behind the front desk is welcome sight for visitors to the hotel, and the scene is again repeated on every floor. In all, the enjoyable experience with Pudi Boutique Hotel offers exceptional value for money, and I will surely be back again the next time I am in Shanghai. Keep up the excellent work!
Quality hotel in an ideal location”
We booked this hotel after a recommendation from friends and it didn't disappoint. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable with free wifi in the room. Room size was fantastic, the bed was very comfortable and we had a massive bathroom with jacuzzi bathtub. The hotel's location is it's strong point, being next to Fuxing Park and in the French Quarter. Close to Tianzifang and Xintiandi, there was also many surrounding streets full of great food and shops we enjoyed exploring. The staff were very helpful, speaking good English, assisting us with booking train tickets as well as helping with directions to various sights and booking taxi's. We chose to have breakfast in the local area (Starbucks is around the corner for Western food, there are lots of street vendors making Chinese breakfasts nearby). We would definitely stay here again
Great location at Fuxing Park”
It's not the Puli, but still the Pudi has its own charm. Located right next to Fuxing Park, this boutique hotel features amazing rooms with enormous bathrooms and a huge bathtub. The deign might be a little oppulent if you are into minimalism, but however the overall result is not bad. The neighbourhood is nice with many small cafes and restaurants and spas and in a few minutes one can reach Fuxing Park for a walk.
Excellent service and brilliant hotel room. ”
Really interesting hotel - from the outside its not much to speak of although the lobby, while small, does pique the interest as its quite unusual. Room was excellent, enormous and beautifully appointed. Only used the restaurant for breakfast which was servicable but nothing to write home about. Overall the service was excellent and definitely contibuted to the decision to continue to use this hotel in the future. Located in a delightfully quiet (as far as central Shanghai can be quiet) neighbourhood with interesting shops and a wealth of cafes and restaurants. For the shoppers among you, it's a 3 minute walk from Huahai Lu. Close proximity to MTR, Xintiandi and Sun Yat Sen's Shanghai house.
An absolute gem of a hotel!!”
I recently srayed at the Pudi Boutique Hotel for the second time. The staff is welcoming and helpful and the rooms are spacious with great bathrooms. The hotel is small which makes it like a 'home away from home'. My son had been injured in a motor cycle accident in Shanghai and when I bought him to stay with me at the hotel the staff went out of their way to accede to our every request. I would highly recommend this hotel - a 5 star hotel with 5 star service but 3 star cost!!
Beautifully designed rooms, excellent service”
The hotel is located around the corner from Fuxing Park. A 5-minute walk through a small pedestrian market precinct that sells dried produce from all parts of China brings you to Huaihai Road lined with its modern shops. I was greeted by friendly staff on arrival, then delighted by my ultra-modern room on the seventh floor. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and impeccably cleaned. I liked being able to open two small windows. There are only 7 floors of accommodation, and activating the elevators required insertion of one's room card: excellent security. Level 8 was a bar and intimate restaurant, as well as a large outdoors area that was very pleasant. Service was thoughtful and friendly.
A beautiful "heritage" hotel.”
the pudi is a very well run hotel with excellent service. the staff are young but professional and friendly. the rooms are very generous with lovely black lacquer accents and every amenity: a mini kitchen with microwave, a large bathroom with a full vanity, a printer and fast wi-fi connection. the location, next to fuxing park is quiet but close enough that it's possible to walk everywhere. taxis are also cheap and readily available.
Will stay here again!”
i love the location - it's a charming boutique hotel right next to fuxing park. the neighbourhood is lined with nice architecture, cute boutiques and small eateries, yet it is also walking distance to the shopping street where you can find big global brands. the room is large and thoughtfully designed and decorated. the hotel staff were all very helpful - i bought loads of stuff from taobao and they helped me with my packages :) my only gripe is that the room can be quite dark, i guess it contributes to the ambience but it's not that conducive if you wanna read or get some work done.
Great location/great room”
I think this was a great value for my purposes. The location is rather local (not near where most Westerners would stay) but with a short 5 minute walk you can get to Xintiandi or Fuxing Park. For this little inconvenience, you pay about 50% of what you would pay for a hotel in a "hotter" location
My husband and I extended our 10 day China tour by 4 days to allow us to do some independent exploration. The location of the Pudi Boutique was perfect. We looked forward to returning each evening to our hotel room (after a free martini, glass of wine or beer during the hotel's happy hour) The jetted tub allowed us to soak our tired muscles before retiring to a most comfortable bed where we slept soundly. The room was very clean, attractive and spacious - loved the window reading nook!! The staff spoke English and were all very helpful and courteous.
Hotel with very good hotel layout and design”
Pudi hotel is strategic located near xintiandi area with just merely 10-15min walk. The hotel is located near good eatery. The hotel have excellence room design with a spacious layout. Washroom are well design with a relax feeling
A GEM IN SHANGHAI”
My wife and I had the most memorable experience staying so close to Xintiandi and the Huai Hai Road shopping area. All the interesting places are either a short walking distance away or RMB 14 by taxi. The corner studio which we stayed offered lots of space and modern amenities to make your stay in Shanghai memorable.
Great location and very comfortable stay”
this was a quieter area than the middle of shanghai and being near fuxing park was a huge bonus. we enjoyed walking to the park in the early morning and watching everyone socialise and exercise in the park and at times we even joined in. the only point we thought could be improved on was that the rooms could do with a little more lighting
Great value! Really pleased.”
The location is seriously great. The hotel is located so centrally and moving off to popular tourist sites either by cab or train is easy. Xintiandi is located just 15 mins walk away and there are good eateries around the hotel. The bund by cab is about 15-20mins. The rooms are spacious and really really comfortable. Overall, a really pleasant experience and would highly recommend it.
Nice boutique hotel with good rooms”
The styling of the rooms though very modern is a bit 1980s, a bit low light for my taste and bit of a guys pad, but putting that aside...it was fantastic!! Really well fitted, very spacious, fabulous bathroom, good minibar and drinks selection, excellent location (though entrance round one side), friendly staff. I have stayed in the Hilton and I preferred the Pudi, though I didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on that. The price was competitive as well. Wish I had got to have a look at the park its really close.
A great find!”
We know the major brand 5 stars in Shanghai well and were looking for something different. PUDI Boutique is definitely it and you will not be disappointed in any aspect.
Wonderful room for romantic break”
We had a room on the 7th floor for a birthday weekend and were very happy with it. Very tastefully decorated, comfy bed and nice features, including a lovely bath/hot tub. When you arrive in the lobby it doesn't feel too fancy, but the room is the important thing, so I would definitely recommend this hotel. Excellent location too, right next to Fuxing Park.
Spacious lovely boutique hotel ”
The stay was wonderful. Room was spacious and came with good amenities. Rates provided by Agoda were fantastic for a 5 star boutique hotel. Located right on FuiHai road, there were many cafes nearby where you can get your coffee fix, quick ramen bites and lot of street food. Moving around from the hotel was easy as well by cab. Lovely place and would recommend to anyone visiting Shanghai.
Very Impressive Hotel”
It was very impressive. The room is spacious and the view is perfect. All services is really nice, even housekeeper or security. The location is good too and very close to Xintiandi (walking distance) and shopping mall. I just do not have chance to try the restaurant, i am sure to do it next time. Highly recommend.
