functional bungalow by the beach ”
Located at Ao Pudsa, the next beach from Ao Phai. Bungalows are at a very clean and good beach. For night life walk to the Silver Sand disco at Ao Phai, just 300 meters away. Simple but functional rooms.
Deck chairs for beach not included and they want 50b for each chair that is 100b per couple per dayc”
American breakfast was 180b and at another nicer resort the same was 90b...😡 The place needs a lot of maintenance and a big clean up as the grounds are a mess with some cabins falling apart and look like abandoned with broken windows and doors.
Low-cost quality at not so low cost”
I had previously stayed at Pudsa beach at another resort that was unfortunately full that time, and decided to give a try to this resort, as I really like the beach. We booked an A/C family room, but it seems that we got an old bungalow (some looked newer and in better shape, at least from the outside). Be aware that you have to pay for almost any extra, that are usually included in the price when you stay at a resort, such as breakfast, the right to seat on the beach chair, etc. The bathroom was a bit shabby and our room was not cleaned even if we requested it. The staff were quite nice, they kindly booked a snorkeling trip for us. If you can, stay at their neighboring resort. So much more value for money in my humble opinion...
Been to this beach many times in the last 25 years. Before it was very beautiful, but a temporary pier made from broken concrete pipes and filled with sand has ruined its pristine beauty, and basically cut the small beach into two sections. Food quality has diminished with substantially increased prices. Rooms are clean, but too much rubbish around the resort.
Location, location, location”
As is quite obvious from the title the location was spectacular, just by a beautiful white beach with a few cozy bars spread out along it (one of which had the most amazing music, love to Bowie). Didn't go there during high season so it felt incredibly calm and secluded. This simple home together with a rented motorbike makes for a fantastic experience. Backpackers and families alike.
It was the best place in the island, need to improve WiFi ”
There is also a really nice bar with pull, board games and lots of fun and friendly people!
Go next door”
For a budget place this hotel is ok but we found the facilities and rooms so basic in every sense that I wouldn’t recommend it. Location is lovely but something has gone wrong on the beach and there are about 10 tonnes of construction waste in the middle of the beach. I guess that will be cleared soon.
Love that it's still a true bungalow”
TIP: The most expensive AC units are 1 row back from the beach! The beach front huts are call "SEAVIEW" - not beachfront. Beachfront are fan only, no AC. Love that it's still a true bungalow with all it's warts. First hut B8, was a duplex w/ family of 4 and 2 smokers nextdoor. It was 3 rows back from beach.. Next hut A2, the toilet didn't work from the start and day 2 the AC quit. Next hut was a working, bigger single hut A6. The SEAVIEW huts are on a walking path, so all see your porch and any laundry. Everybody ate at Tubtim down the beach, staff a little tired at Pudsa -nuff said.
I read lots of negative feedback about this place , it is what it is clean tidy and on the beach ”
Right on the beach , could do with a revamp but clean and basic , I had the Thai food which is all under 100 bht (back page of menu)I stayed 2 extra nights as it's so amazing , wifi only works in the cafe not in the rooms , there is a resort next door which shares the same lovely beach but it's more than twice the price ( old saying you get what you pay for) they also do Thai food for under 100bht but the size is half the portion !will def come back ! If you want 5 star then GO to a 5 star resort and pay for it ! And stop ya moaning
Great location, dated accommodations ”
The room had fresh cigarette burns on the sheet after a fresh washing. The t.v. was missing, which is an issue for Thai people. Internet was good and bad. Not many guests, which was nice. When I needed the front desk at 20:30 there was no one around. Nice people, but neglected over the past few years. Often a difficult place to book. As with many hotels, they are never happy when you show them your Agoda booking. This is usually the only way to make a reservation.
Loved pudsa bungalows!”
I really enjoyed my stay here. Came mid September and didnt need AC - stayed in a sea view with fan hut and was basic but just what I wanted. Great view of sea, and beach is awesome. Great location because it's quite a quiet beach but not far from party places and restaurants, only a couple of minutes walk. Food decent and staff were friendly - we played cards with them 😃 overall I would recommend this place as its great value for money and I really enjoyed it here.
Comfortable, Quiet Stay Steps Away from the Beach”
Pudsa is located on the best beach in Koh Samet (in my opinion) if you're looking for a quiet and relaxing stay. The beach is only shared with one other resort - Tubtim - and as a result is a great place to chill and relax all day. Although the bungalow was small, it was extremely close to the ocean. I slept with my windows open, which are covered with mosquito screens, and could hear the waves while I slept. There's a small porch with a table facing the ocean which compensated for the small interior of the bungalow. The food was overpriced, and found myself eating at Tubtim next door for dinner all of the days I was there. The staff was OK - most of them were friendly, some not so much. Inside, my a/c leaked if left on for too long, and so did my toilet. Other than that, the room was basic, but clean. Given the price, I was very happy at Pudsa Bungalows and would stay there again.
Fantastic, as usual. I have been staying there for the past 26 years. I have a massage every day from Sala, who is intuitive and excellent. His wife Saima is very good also. There are wonderful walks nearby or even further afield. The char grilled chicken and green Papaya salad prepared on the beach are just the greatest. The fresh coconut drink is hard to beat also. I will continue to go there and have already directed over 20 of my friends to the island.
Best location but description is misleading ”
I'd stay here again but it is one of the few places on the island that has not been renovated and it is overpriced for the standard of accommodation. If you want a 'rustic' holiday, here will be a good place.
Good Location, Value for money bad attitude.”
I was travelling with my partner, and we are glad that we stayed in Pudsa because of the location. It's sort of disconnected to all the other restaurants and bar, otherwise we might not be able to sleep because in Ao Phai most of the restaurant and bar open quite late and plays loud music, especially Silver Sand; but still we were able to get to Ao Phai by walking. The room was ok, I guess you just can't expect more when you get a room for what I paid. It's actually quite cheap, compared to most of the places in Samet. Basically they don't clean the room during your stay, and if you need anything from them you should just go to the counter. Staff wasn't that helpful nor friendly, when you ask them something as if you were ruining their time chilling out on the beach. Food was ok, not bad but not good, a little bit expensive. Overall, there is only one thing I dislike about Pudsa. They try to rip you off in anyway they can. The motorbike rental is 100 bath more expensive than others. They have 2 menu, one from the bar, one from the restaurant, different price but same kind of items on the menu and from the same bar and kitchen. The price of the drinks menu from the bar is basically higher. The transport services from Pudsa is a rip off. We asked for transport to the Pier for the day we check out, the receptionist told us that there is songtaew taking guest out every morning at 7 and 7.30 (which normally charge 40-50 Baht). So on the day we checked out, with our bags and belonging, she told us is 200 baht for the transport, we can either walk to the pier or pay 200 to get there. And with all our stuff, it give us no choice. I don't mid paying more, but what really pissed me off is they are not honest.
the management does not exist !! it take 10 mins to order a juice. They never smile , or not even try to understand or help. I lost my key at the beach and went back to hotel around 11pm, there was no body in the complex who were working and I had to sleep outside. we were 4 ppl stayed in the same complex and evey each of us checked out the next day and moved to the next resort which was alot better.
The room is very simple and even shaby compared to its neibouring resorts but that's ok considering the price. I rented the motorbike from the nearby motorbike shop run by the relative of the Pudsa's owner. I was injured (not severely) on the humpy road and the motorbike had some scratches. Later the motorbike owner asked me for a rediculous amount of 8,000 baht. I explained that I was a solo backpacking student on the last day in Thailand. We managed to settle at 4000 baht. I see only one word: "opportunism". Something worse than merely an accident
nice beach with everything..not to close to the main beach, so when the party kicks in you can rest easy without the thumping of disco music..in saying that it has just enough to keep you entertained..highly recommended, either for the romantics or a solo traveller in search of what ever they are searching for..
Amazing beach and lovely bungalows... perfect”
I was really surprised about how tranquil this resort was as i was expecting a lot more noise etc etc..maybe it gets louder in high season....The restaurant was really good although it closed a bit early for my liking, about 830. Staff were friendly and prompt... it is a bit away from all the night life... taxi required at 200 baht but then you can come back to the relaxing pudsa bungalows to recover! recommend this hotel
Lovely beach front hotel & awesome food!”
It´s a very money worthy place to stay on Koh Samet island for its great location having the beach at your footstep and the yummy food they serve. Sleeping with the sound of the sea, waking up to a good sunny day, finishing up your work for the day at the beach with breakfast served (good WIFI too!), swimming in the sun and the rain on the same day, and rapping up the day with a nice evening walk along the coastline, I´d totally do it again!
