We had a really good stay in Pullman Sukhumvit. It is my first time traveling to Bangkok. After reading the reviews, we decided to stay here. Before arrival, I emailed the hotel letting them know it was our 2nd year anniversary. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to club rooms (with a good view of the city), and they even prepared a cake for us! I would say they have excellent services. I bombarded them with heaps of questions regarding places to go, food to eat, helping us booking restaurants, etc. They complied without hesitation and even offered to helping us arranging taxi and all. I know it's part of their job. But the detailed gestures made it accommodating and a superb stay in Pullman. Hotel is close to MRT (about 5 mins walk without crossing the street), BTS is a short walk which is easily accessible via the MRT underground (less than 10 mins walk) and it is connected to Terminal 21 shopping mall. There are more MRT/BTS stops if you were planning to visit places like Hua Lampong (Chinatown) or Asiatique (interchange required). However, that didnt bother us since MRT/BTS is closeby or taxi is always readily available at a relatively cheap price. Don't miss the beef soup noodles and the satay just outside Sukhumvit MRT station though. So flavourful we went back twice for it. It starts in the evening.
For my first trip to Bangkok I wanted to ensure that my accommodations would be nice, and I am glad that I chose Grand Millennium Sukhumvit! For a western traveler, this hotel does it all. From reading some reviews that included 'issues' I was second guessing my reservation, but my 4 nights there were just great. Check-in was quick and easy. Staff was more than friendly, The room itself was large, and very comfortable indeed. The available restaurants at the hotel are great. The food is superb, although a little pricey if you are on a budget. Included in our reservation was a complimentary 30 minute Thai massage, which was enjoyed very much. They give you the option of other massage packages for extra fee if you wish. The location can be good or bad, depending what you want to do in Bangkok. For us, it being our first time, the location was perfect. Within a 3 minute walk to both the subway and skytrain station (intersection of Sukhumvit and Asoke), you can get around a lot of the city that way. Cabs are fairly cheap, and air conditioned, so that's also an option if you don't like public transport. However the skytrain and subway are easy to use, and also cheap. If you don't like to walk much in the heat, the hotel will arrange a complimentary Tuk Tuk for you (with the executive room) to transport you to the skytrain or subway station, but we didn't take advantage of that, the walk wasn't very long. Just a hint, if using the skytrain, the station is across the street, navigating the cross walk was a challenge (if you're not aware of the traffic there! we followed locals to get across). But you can walk underground via the subway station, which gets you out of the hot sun and avoids having to cross the busy street. There are BMW's available to drive you to and from the airport at a cost. We only used this to head back to the airport (we booked one from AOT after landing to get to the hotel). This is also a nice touch to end your stay. The driver was
Happy with everything!”
Love the staff and location ! Mr Top, from Reception, had excellent customer skills, I was impressed by his caring and professional attitude. Chris was genuine and friendly, makes me feel like coming home every time, I enjoyed chatting with him. I really like all the staff in this hotel. Location was best. Lively, clean area around the hotel -- with plenty of nightlife, restaurants, bars, massage salons, shopping, things to do. Countless interesting restaurants, of all price ranges, just behind the hotel. Everything within 2-10 minutes' walk. During my stay it was a foodie adventure all the way... incredibly every place was just a stone's throw from Pullman BKK Grande Sukhumvit... so I didn't even need to take taxis / BTS. In the immediate neighborhood I ate at a Southern Thai restaurant (lovely decor), Central Thai restaurant, Japanese izakaya, Japanese sit-down restaurant, Italian restaurant, sports bar, Isaan restaurant, 2 bakeries that served high end breads. How convenient, and time-saving!
Even though I'd heard that Bangkok was one of the best cities in the world for luxury hotels, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Grand Millennium. From the moment my taxi arrived in the marble driveway to the moment that I left the next morning, I was perfectly tended to by the attentive and friendly staff. Not only was the service crisp and unobtrusive, but the staff went above and beyond to make sure that I had a comfortable trip. They even allowed me to leave my large duffel bag in their luggage room for over two weeks while I was off trekking in Northern Thailand and wouldn't accept a tip for their troubles. Apart from the staff, my favorite part about the hotel was the room. The huge room was lushly appointed and subdued and the views of Sukhumvit were sublime. I did enjoy the facilities that were offered with the Spa, in particular the outdoor swimming pool, but, my only complaint is that their gym was too small and didn't have all of the machines that I would have liked (especially considering how much I ate at the enormous breakfast buffet that was included in the price). All in all I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a hotel in Sukhumvit. I can't imagine that there's a better hotel for the price.
I rarely ever write reviews, however I feel compelled to share my amazing experience at the Pullman. We regularly stay in the many hotels around Asoke as we have an office there and we recently came back to the Pullman. I have to say that it far exceeded my expectations. I work in the hotel industry so I am always a bit demanding in my accommodation standards. But my stay as an Executive Club room member was just fantastic. The staff at the lounge were superb, they saw to all my needs. They even took a photo of me to ensure that all the other staff knew me by name - wow! It seemed that the whole hotel was aware who I was and tended to my every need. Very impressive service indeed. Could not ask for more. Overall the hotel premises are beginning to show their age but its still far better than the older Westin property or newer Radisson Blu. The Pullman has character and soul which with its excellent service, makes it one of the better hotels in this area. I would have given it 5 stars for facilities but I feel its gym, changing and spa areas are a little cramped for space. Also as the hotel is now over 10 years old, maybe more, the owners really need to start thinking about a refurbishment of the Public Areas at least. The rooms are still in excellent condition. Needless to say myself and my office will definitely be staying here again. Once again a huge thanks to all the amazing people at the Pullman.
One of the Best!”
We had a memorable stay at Pullman. My friends and their family were happy to be staying at this hotel. The staff were friendly and accommodating. For the 5 nights we were in Bangkok and making a choice to stay at this hotel was indeed the best decision we'd made. Thanks so much to all at Pullman Bangkok Grande Sukhumvit.
Seventh time in Bangkok, last three at Pullman”
This was our third stay at the Pullman (previously Millenium Grand Sukhumvit), and we are about to book again for our next visit in June. The staff are so wonderful, the spa is beautiful, food is excellent, facilities are welcoming, rooms are beautiful, location is the best as it is so close to the train and sky rail which is the best way to travel in Bangkok.
Standard 5 stars hotel”
Grand Millennium Sukhumvit was one of the 4 lodgings for my trip this time round. It was a good and up to standard 5 stars hotel but nothing much beyond that. I feel that this hotel does not have a very distinct style comparatively to other hotels that I have stayed in Bangkok. The room and other facilities were good for a 5 stars standard hotel. I appreciate it that the hotel staff were friendly and they have very good command of English. Effort was also put in on their part to make you feel welcome and happy to be staying there. The hotel is very near to Terminal 21 and Asok station. I might or might not return to this hotel as with the price, I believe I can find myself a more interesting 5 stars hotel but I do recommend this hotel for a clean and comfortable stay.
Modern contemporary hotel with great location”
we have stayed in many hotels in bangkok as we visited bangkok once or twice a year. ever since we've found grand millenium sukhumvit, this is 'our hotel' everytime we come back. service is good. great location, bout 5 mins walk to the bts skytrain. only 1 stop to emporium & 2-3 stops to siam paragon. down the road (next to the hotel) is a night district for those who love to have a few drinks & massage. otherwise the hotel lounge itself is a lovely place to chill out with the liveband around. we loved their modern interior designed hotel/room especially the bathroom. overall we'll definitely be coming back to this hotel again.
Grand Millennium Sukhumvit Hotel”
We stayed at the Grand Millennium Sukhumvit Hotel for two nights and three days as part of our honeymoon. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed at but compared to the three other 4-5 star hotels we tried, this was by far the best. We stayed in an Executive Club Room which was as good if not better than the photos on this website. Very impressive rooms and the most comfortable beds and pillows! Great service, English, and coffee! Breakfast could have been a better range of things, but what they did have was still impressive and good quality. This was the only hotel to give us a real latte, so the coffee is fantastic. Staff are apparently trained overseas in the spa and we had a great massage at 50% discount with a voucher they gave us on arrival. We found the cocktail hour and afternoon tea in the Executive Club Room a great bonus to this hotel, and note that kids aren't allowed in this room (which I found good actually). The pool was also fantastic, and would be great for kids as they have a shallow area with some water coming down a wall for them to play in. The location was also convenient, to get to nearby shopping malls such as the MBK Centre, the skytrain is also only a short three-minute walk from the hotel, and reception staff will provide you with a map and good directions. They will also call a meter taxi for you which are very cheap. Ask them how much to expect to pay and how long, they provided us with very good information.
outstanding hotel with very friendly staff”
check-in was efficient, luggage was sent immediately to our room. room were clean and modern, tv with all programms which you normally receives in asia. bathroom very, very nice and the shower is really outstanding. service to the room was also perfect. breakfast (quality and quantity) is absolutely fantastic and delicous. only negative point is that the pool is a bit to small! but when you are in bangkok, you are may be for different things in town. no question: in the jungle of five star hotels, the millenium grand sukhumvit is probably not the best, but may be the best value for the money! it is absolutely to recommend. urs & evelyn from switzerland
The Hot Place To Stay”
I recently stayed at the Grand Millennium, Sukhumvit for 5 nights and was truly impressed. I have visited Thailand over the past 7 years at least twice per year and recommend this new facility with great confidence. The location is perfect for every type of traveler. Very close to both the subway and skytrain. Sleek, private (as well as can be expected in Bangkok), secure, and gracious. I stay in an executive club room and took advantage of the many perks but a regular room was still extraordinary. Food was very good quality and better value than all of the other 5 star hotels I have visited. Without belaboring the point, this is THE place to stay in Bangkok
Fantastic Location and Great Staff!!”
The Grand Millenium is a wonderfully located hotel situated only a few minutes from the Asok BTS and Sukhumvit MRT. Both enable travel to all important tourist destinations in Thailand. The hotel is very stylish and the staff are both friendly and professional. I have stayed at the hotel on a number of occasions now in a club room and have found it to be very comfortable. You can get a club room if you shop around for a reasonable price and I commend the hotel as worth staying if you are in Bangkok.
Best Hotel ever”
The five-star Grand Millennium Sukhumvit Bangkok features a sail-like glass façade, with an atrium and concept floors. Its 325 rooms and suites are spacious tastefully decorated with contemporary Thai ‘touches’ and presents the very latest in – room technology. The hotel offers banquet/convention space totaling almost 2,000 square metres. Featuring two Ballrooms and nine meeting rooms with the very best AudioVisual facilities which can accommodate from 10 to 500 guests. The hotel has six Food and Beverage outlets offering international and regional cuisine. Other facilities include business centre, a full spa and fitness centre, swimming pool and a putting green on site.
Top Notch All The Way.”
Wow from start to finish. We booked transportation to and from BKK with the Pullman Grande. We were met by a stylish gentleman in a suit who led us to our awaiting van. We booked Executive Rooms and proceeded to the Executive Lounge on the 24th floor for check-in. The 2 other couples in our group were very impressed with this process (as were we). The rooms are gorgeous and the beds were comfortable. We must ABSOLUTELY commend and recognize the Executive Lounge staff of Jenine, Dew, Min and Nam for their level of service. I believe they are the pinnacle of their profession. They have set the bar for level of service standards. Without hesitation this is a 5 Star Hotel. Cheers to the Pullman Grande!!
Staying at one of the Pullman Hotels, is usually a satisfying experience.”
Everything about the Pullman Bangkok Grande Sukhumvit was very good. Two things that stood out the most for me: 1. Every employee that I encountered was friendly and helpful. 2. The breakfast buffet had something fantastic for everyone!
Dear Antony, thank you for your amazing comments towards the staff!
We stayed at the Grand Millenium for four nights in September 08. We were there for business and a little bit of pleasure and the hotel was perfect for that. It was not too touristy which is what we prefer. The rooms were nicely decorated, clean and very comfortable, I especially loved the bed. I also enjoyed the bath, the windowed bathroom allows you to watch TV while relaxing in the bath. Location was excellent - only a five minute walking distance to the BTS and MRT. Its also within walking distance to some of the restaurants near the Sukhumvit area. The breakfast buffet was good, nothing to shout about but I don't really eat much for breakfast so it was fine for me. I didn't have time to try any of the other restaurants in the hotel except for the bar where there is a live jazz quartet performance every night. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Bangkok.
Grand Millenium Sukhumvit”
We have recently returned from the Grand Millenium Bangkok. The location, near the sky train (BTS) is very convenient, especially in the blazing heat which feels like a sauna. The room - Grand Deluxe, was spacious, modern and very clean. Surprisingly for us breakfast was included so on our 3rd day we tried it - the food was of a very high quality. The lunch specials in the noodle bar for 99 BAHT (£2) were awesome. We didn't have time to try the spa services, just the sauna/steam room which were very good indeed. We rented the hotel car (BMW) with driver for a couple day trips, it was the best way to see the temples, in comfort and on our own timetable. All in all the Grand Millenium is a great hotel with very friendly, helpful staff and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it if you're planning a trip to Bangkok. We will surely stay here again when we return to Bangkok.
Reliable comfort & convenience”
The Grand Millennium Sukhumvit is a great choice for a comfortable, convenient stay in Bangkok. The location is one of the best for easy access to public transportation, shopping, and nightlife. I have traveled often to Thailand and just recently stayed at Lebua, Pan Pacific, and The Grand Millennium. For value and comfort, The Grand Millennium was by far the best of the three. The Club lounge choice is a very nice option with excellent service. If want a safe, reliable bet for your next stay in Bangkok, this is the place and should suit most discerning standards.
A perfect stay”
Everything about the hotel is wonderful. Location, food choice and friendliness of staff, from the front desk to the restaurant staff. Have to give special compliments to the restaurant staff, Techita, who is welcoming and friendly. Kudos to Pullman Bangkok Grande!
