The style and character of Puripunn Baby Grand Boutique Hotel reflects its historic neighborhood. This property is situated in the midst of what is now a heritage zone that is home to the city’s greatest concentration of antique wooden buildings. Many night pubs, restaurants, shop houses, and sightseeing attractions are a short stroll of the hotel. Nearby bridges lead over the Ping River to the modern commercial center. From the hotel, it is just a 10-minute walk to the downtown Night Bazaar. The temples of the moated old town are only a short drive beyond. There are just 30 rooms in this elegant property. Each comes with a flat-screen TV, DVD player, air conditioning, IDD phone, as well as welcome and farewell drinks, flowers, and fruits on arrival. Sala Spa offers traditional Thai massages as well as a unique aroma massage. If you’re looking for the most convenient choice in town offering great value for money, look no further than Puripunn Baby Grand Boutique Hotel.

Staff are amazing! Location is not.”
I really hate to give this place a bad review because the staff were really A++++! They went above and beyond helping us book places and recommend things to do. I would not recommend this hotel though due to the price and location. I think the room is very big and nice but the location is at the end of not one, but two alleyways. When I go to new places I like to walk around the area but this is not really pleasant because there is nothing there. For half the price you can stay closer to night bazaar or inside the gate. This brings me to the next point, I booked a pricier hotel because I wanted a pool. The pool is just for show though, there was no one enjoying it because it is surrounded by trees and gets no sun. You can't tan there. It's also full of mosquitos and the pool isn't very nice looking up close. My room also had an AC problem. There is only one setting and it was subzero cold. I got NO sleep in three nights. I didn't enjoy my stay here but loved the staff and breakfast.
Great staff, beautiful location”
We had a lovely time at the resort and the staff are all very friendly. Unfortunately there were a lot of smokers at the pool during our stay and that kind of ruined the pool experience for us. In the future, it would be nice if this hotel adopted a non-smoking policy in public areas, as other resorts in Thailand and around the world have done.
A wonderful hotel, truly fitting of the title "boutique". The hidden location within heart of Chiang Mai, only adds to the atmosphere of an excellent 5 nights, complimented by very courteous and professional staff. A must stay property, definitely to be revisited by my wife and I.
A magical place ”
I stayed at Puripunn only 1 night, but the experience was fabulous. A small hotel in thai style, room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. At night, the hotel looks like a magical place. It is located on a remote street, walking distance from city center. The staff speaks very good English and is very welcoming. They will make your stay very special. I highly recommend and I would come back to Chiang Mai for this hotel experience.
Quiet place , far end from the street ”
It is a lovely boutique hotel lobated at a small alley hidden street ! The hotel with a gym and facilities but of course we don't have time to use as in a short trip so we rather to explored the city and 1 round mountain by Motorbike . The hotel provide free tuk tuk to the city , we used it twice to go for dinner only . The pool a bit small and haven't seen much guest come for swim including me . Breakfast is ok , a bit boring , although they have a menu to order aside but it is really nothing special ! Overall , I like the big room and quiet place but not really much keen on the breakfast . Food at the cafe restaurant is rather expensive and I have never seen anyone dinning there . I have one lunch and it is not bad ! We got dinner at the River Market was very nice and the spicy chili was good as well .
Lovely little hotel in a great location”
Great hotel with a traditional thai architecture and ambiance, excellent Thai & Western food, friendly and helpful staff, walking distance to famous riverside bars and restaurants, we will be back. The owner came by at breakfast to chat with guests which shows the care taken here. Two drawbacks for families with small kids only: Lots of stairs so it is difficult with a stroller, but we just left ours at the front desk most of the time; and the place is far from kid proof so you need to be on top of your kids to make sure they don't get into dangerous situations. Better for couples or anyone who wants a quiet retreat as its a lovely and romantic hotel, but at any rate I highly recommend the Puripunn across the board.
An absolute Gem of a boutique hotel”
We had a delightful time staying here for 4 nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the owner took great care to introduce himself and ensure we were enjoying our time, and he even arranged for a birthday cake for our 6 year old daughter. The hotel was tastefully designed and the pool and gardens were also serenely set. A delightful hideaway from the bustle of the old town but walking distance from market area. Definitely recommend this hotel over others I have stayed at
Detail-oriented, but a little bit over-price”
overall, puripunn is nice and we really enjoyed our stay. the location is a little bit remote compare to the old town hotels, they offer shuttle tuk-tuk 5 times per day, though not always on schedule. the hotel decoration is full of lovely details and some parts are very fancy. we love the old-fashion furniture. the room is not spacious, but the service is great. it's funny that every time we returned hotel to take a rest from sight-seeing, we found new gift from the hotel. the pool is the best we had in chiang mai, with a spa in the middle of it. i spent a whole afternoon reading books besides the pool, it was quite and really a treat( and free!).
i spent one weekend here in june with my family and booked a family suite and a deluxe room. staff was very welcoming and particularly attentive to my mother. rooms were spotless and well-furnished. despite its location within chiang mai city, the hotel is located in a very quite part of town. breakfast buffet offers european style food, and the barman makes an excellent classic margarita. highly recommend.
solo gay male traveling for pleasure”
if you are fond of luxury design, stay away from here. The rooms are not the best at all and need serious updating, and the hallways to get there are awfully morbid. The staff is very under trained. That being said, I enjoyed some wonderful food, and they tried to be very accommodating. Pool was not inviting at all. old cushions, dirty area. Really needs some TLC and updating.
Outstanding Staff, Beautiful Property”
We stayed here in late January as a family with two rooms. The staff and service were outstanding from our welcome drink at check-in to highly responsive staff for bags, laundry and at breakfast. The property is beautifully decorated and maintained. The location a little ways from the center of town which was perfect as the we were close enough to walk to tuk-tuk to shopping and dining but far enough away to be a quite retreat.
Cosy boutique hotel - perfect for couples ”
This is a perfect place for couples wanting to explore Chiang mai city . The staff is v courteous and they provide shuttles to close by areas , they'll arrange cabs for farther destinations. Room decor Abd the hotel feel is very pretty and romantic... nice food ! it's all you need for a comfy stay . As the name suggests it is baby grand - all nice things in a small space !
The Puripunn Baby Grand hotel is a very nice place to stay. The staff is very accommodating and attentive (tidied up the room several times a day). The rooms are very nice with comfortable beds and nice amenities and decorative touches that make the room special (we stayed on the ground level). Pictures on the web site reflect the current room/hotel conditions. We found the breakfast to be excellent with cooks who prepared anything we wanted as Americans (eggs to order, omelets, french toast, bacon, ham, etc). They also had a variety of cereals, breads, pastries, fruits, and more. The pool is small and cool but it is a beautiful place to sit and relax with nice loungers. The center section is not a hot tub but just part of the pool. The pool area closes at 8pm and I would have liked to swim a little at night, however I did notice mosquitoes coming out around dusk. The hotel is beautifully lit up at night and is beautifully landscaped. We had a few drinks at the pool but did not eat lunch or dinner at the hotel. Prices for pool drinks around $8 and in looking at the menu the food prices were a little high but not totally ridiculous. The hotel location is a bit strange and isolated but that also makes it a quite retreat. We walked to night markets and other places without issue. The tuk tuk provided by the hotel was one way, limited, and at set times and we did not find that useful. Uber is very cheap and easy if you don't want to walk. Some nice cafes and restaurants along the river on the hotel side and a short walk from the Puripunn. Hotel also had a decent library of DVDs. We very much enjoyed our stay.
Very lovely boutique hotel filled with delicate details and cozy environment! The only advantage is that the room is a bit too small for a family of three, and the hotel's location is quite secret - it's on a small road, so my parents are afraid of going out at night.
A quiet oasis from the hustle and bustle”
A few blocks off of the main street, so the hotel is much quieter than the main street. Wide array of breakfast (eggs made to order, 1-2 Thai dishes, croissants, salad, cold cuts, coffee/tea/hot chocolate).
Charming and lovely”
Fantastic place - so welcoming and charming and the staff is first-rate! The food was fabulous, and beds very comfortable too. The whole place is just lovely. If I ever come to Chiang Mai again, I will definitely want to stay here, and give it a very high recommendation.
Incredible stay in Chiang Mai”
We arrived late at night to Puripunn and the hotel was breathtaking with hanging lanterns in the trees and flowers everywhere. We were greeted with cool towels that felt heavenly and a wonderful drink. Our rooms were beautiful and clean and the breakfast was delightful with made-to-order omlettes and waffles. The service was the best we've ever experienced. My son said, "This must be what it feels like to be royalty." It truly was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend Puripunn.
A Thai treasure!”
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Hidden, quiet location within (good) walking distance to the Old City and the Aroy Aroy Cooking School. The complimentary breakfast was absolutely delicious. Lunch (not included) was pricey. Would definitely go back again!
My wife and I spent our second leg of our honeymoon in Chiang Mai, and spent it here. Really it is a sweet and very nicely designed hotel along with a wonderful staff. Pound for pound, I was very excited about our stay there.
Puripunn Baby Grand Hotel must be one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. The location is not the most picturesque but is convenient for access to the old town, the markets and the Yi Peng festival if that is what you are going for, and inside the hotel gardens is like being in a totally different world and a magical one at that. Great service (including transport into town), simple but sumptuous rooms - would definitely recommend.
