The room is below expectations
Good location
It is located in the best preserved old part of Beijing. The location is excellent. However, the bathroom was so tiny, and the room was badly lighted.

Perfect situation, a very calm neighborhood
situation, local and old design
Quiet place if you do not have Chinese neighbors in the hotel... very nice situation but hard to get there by cab... or to find one around. Old town, very typical but hotel not very clean.

Great location and very helpful staffs
I would say it's the best location in Beijing
The hotel itself is lovely and clean but the best part here is the staff is very helpful, it's the best to me because I can't speak Chinese and there are not many people can speak English in China, so the helpful hotel staffs will be a good choice. Even more it's right in Hutong part which is very lovely and great fun.

Great location and service but small rooms
The hutong location is right by the Drum and Bell Towers, a 20 min walk to the metro, and near the trendy Nan Luo Gu Xiang lane and the Houhai lakes. Wifi works well and Robert at reception is very helpful.
We actually stayed in the Dragon's Courtyard, as we were picked up at night from the airport and dropped off here, not realizing it was a sister hotel. We were given the opportunity to move in the morning, but opted to stay. Pros: The hutong location is great, right by the Drum and Bell Towers, a 20 min walk to the metro, near the trendy Nan Luo Gu Xiang lane and the Houhai lakes. Robert at reception is there to answer all your questions and help with bookings. Wifi works well. Cons: The hotel is down a slightly long and sometimes wet, not very well lit alleyway, but it didn't feel unsafe. The courtyard can sometimes be noisy, which is a little annoying if you're trying to sleep in... The bathroom is small and somewhat smelly, but I gather this a a feature of all hutongs!! NB: There is no food/dining option (I rated this 4 since it appears I have to rate it, and don't want to unfavorably affect the overall score)

A cheap and nice hotel
Cheap price
The hotel is tucked away from the busy main street which is great. The rooms are very plainly decorated but for the cheap price, it is good value for money. But the bath room is a bit too small and there is no separate wall for the bathing area and the toilet bowl.

Nice hotel
Cheap but very clean
The hotel is located inside the hutong area, which makes it not accessible to the taxi. You need to walk around 1km from the main road. You will go through the famous nanlouguxiang, simply a row of shops, selling unique items. The houhai area is walking distance from this hotel. The room I am staying is Standard Queen, with bathroom attached. Another type of room is without bathroom attached, you need to share with others. But toilet and bathroom are considered clean. If you are from Wangfujing area, the taxi fare is about RMB 15-20.

Convenient location but small room
Is very near to the night life district area where bars and restaurants are located.
The location is very quiet other than when someone talked outside your room. A short walk to the main road for taking buses. You get to see the local daily life activity just round the corner. A very short walk to the shopping lane at Nan Luo Gu Xiang, Gu Lou Dong Da Jie and Hou Hai/Qian Hai area famous for its night activities.
