We booked this hostel initially because it had a pool but this turned out to be the colour of limeade so we did not use it! The advert was misleading and we thought the bathroom was joined to the bedroom, however it is in a communal area. The room was small and our bed had a fat millipede on it!! The room had so many insects - moths, cockroaches and lizards (to name a few) You are provided with a mosquito net but this didn’t help much. When we finally got into bed, after fighting off the insects, we found lots of bed bugs on the sheets. We were using a torch because the light switch was far away and I don’t think you would see them otherwise. When we found these, we had enough so decided to pack up and leave. We didn’t stay there for the night.
I went to Pai because I heard it's worth a visit and because of the chill atmosphere. I guess you get what you pay for - the pool isn't that inviting; it's just basically a big plastic tub that has a deck built around it. It just seems like a little effort could be put forth in many different areas to make it a much better place to stay, but this also applies to many of the backpacker places in Pai. It's not a terrible place to stay; the staff is great and it's not that far from the walking street/market, but just know that the price reflects the quality of the accommodations.
AmaZing hostel. They just need to start giving the dogs water instead of drinking out of the river. One of the dogs died from dehydration while I was there. Very upset
Private room smelled bad”
Rooms were close to the washroom and it smelled bad the entire stay. Chill place though and I like the vibe. Fairly loud at night but that is to be expected, as this place is kind of like a party hostel. Next time I stay here I would just stay in the dorm room.
One of the biggest disappointments in Pai”
It was very disappointing. It was a five minutes walk from city center, which isn't too bad, but everything else is just awful. The pricing is ridiculous for what you get, and the facility lacks basic necessity. Literally any service they offer, you can find a better deal in the town.
Great place to stay !”
Single rooms with double bed are very nice and cheap. Sleeping in this tiny house was so comfy. Good place to meet people. Staff is very cool and friendly!
Awesome place ”
Fantastic staff fantastic place fantastic experience
You pay for more than you get.”
Basic rooms and bungalows with no facilities and a staff that does not do much to help you, as they are just temporada backpackers.
If you are social and you like to meet new people, this is the place for you! They play fun music and offer a free breakfast if you stay in their A/C dorms! Super cheap but bang for your buck!!
A great way to settle in and meet friends”
My first impression of this place is that everyone seems to be a family. It reminds me a but if a miniature college campus because it offers basketball, a pool, billiards, a bar, and hammock area. I felt very comfortable and welcome there, and was sad to leave my new friends. I would recommend this place to anyone travelling alone or in a group, as it's very easy to network with other travellers.
I felt like camping and for the price I would have expected something a little better.
