Good accommodation for the price ”
We found Putri Ayu Cottages was well worth the stay as it’s off the main bussiest street but is within walking distance to main town center which has the markets where you can do most of your shopping , hotel is only a five minute walk from monkey Forrest and is relatively easy to find on Bisma street. Be prepared to be good at negotiating prices for practically everything you look at as the prices could be double what you may actually be able to purchase for. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast menu is very good . Would definitely recommend Putri Ayu Cottages for next stay in Ubud .
Wonderful Cottages and Above and Beyond Staff”
my husband and i stayed at the putri ayu cottages for our honeymoon and had the absolute best experience. the staff there are the kindest people who brought breakfast to our patio every morning. they are wonderfully helpful in answering any questions we had and found us a wonderful driver for our days spent outside of ubud. the street that the hotel is on is currently under construction and so i had read other reviews that had complained about this. they are actually in the process of finishing the road and building more cottages. i think it's pleasant to be just a minute outside ubud's center, as it was quiet and peaceful. we rented a motorbike from the hotel for just a few dollars a day and had quick access to all of ubud. pande and all of the other staff did absolutely everything to make us happy there and they succeeded.
Very relaxing and enjoyable”
We have really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Mere walking distance off the main road it's very close to all the attractions in Ubud. We have visited a few hotels in Central Ubud and were satisfied with our choice of Putri Ayu (value for money/services provided). For a hotel of it's size the swimming pool is huge and very well maintained. When we got bumped off the flight the owner made us a very good offer since we had to extend our stay in Bali by two days. Overall the staff were friendly and willing to attend to our every need though we did not have a lot of needs :) We would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers whether solo, couple or family. P.S: the road leading to the hotel is in the process of being fixed. Should be OK soon.
Beautiful hotel for a hostel price”
I absolutely loved it Putri Ayu! I stayed with a friend and got a great deal on our room, making it cheaper than most hostels. From the aiport we were picked up by a taxi organized by the hotel, with Herry from Putri Ayu accompanying us. He was extremely kind and helpful and recommended a bunch of places to us. Our room was beautitul and was cleaned well everyday. The pool was so nice and always clean as well. The staff were wonderful and extremely helpful with all of our requests. It is a bit out of the way which made getting around a little harder, but it is in a beautiful and peaceful location which was great as well. Our room (super delux) was huge- way larger and nicer than we ever expected for the price. Our own terrace was lovely, and the bathroom was large and even had a bathtub. The room had windows all around and let in natural light all day. I can't say enough good things about this place. Would definitely stay here again!
putri ayu cottages is quite deep inside the street. and the environment is good in the sense that it's located beside padi field. the hotel staffs also very helpful and considerate. even it's deep inside, but they providing free shuttle to town and even brought to restaurant for dinner. the room also very romantic and clean. especially i would thank to a staff named dada. he is really good, humorous and helpful.
Good hotel with lovely staff!”
Putri Ayu was a really nice place, little bit out from the centre. All though only 5min walk to monkey forest. You could fine nice restaurants and cafe just near by, if you don't wanna go busy centre. Hotel it selves was really calm and quiet. Only minus was that there was construction work both sides on the neighbor. Only little minus... Rooms were really big and clean, bathroom was also big, nice and tidy, AC worked well and you have your own big balcony. In that price range room was awesome!! Breakfeast was tasty, with fresh juices and pancakes! (specially banana pancake was delicious). We rented the motorbikes from the hotel for three days, worked just well. There was a WiFi, but we couldn´ t make it work, even next to the reception. All over experience was really good. Staff was helpful and kind, specially the lady at the front desk was great. We would highly recommend this place! ps. You should carry a raincoat or umbrella with you, because the rain can surprise you:)
Lovely place, service fantastic, new & clean hotel!”
i personnally enjoyed very much my stay @putri ayu cottages, the view of rice fields/@ sunset or sunrise unique!!! @ the end of the road going direct to monkeys forest & the art shops @ the same road. so easy and quick. as for the staff they were very helpful& good service. wish more people can use the facilities!
A highly recommended place to stay”
We found our stay at Putri Ayu very enjoyable and highly recommend it to others. The management was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty and enough to give you a good start to the day. The location was quiet and an easy 10 minutes walk to the main street. The hotel have a courtesy car to either drop you off or pick you up if you don't feel like walking. Overall a very nice stay and would return there if we revisit Ubud.
Lovely hotel in Ubud”
I love their big rooms in Putri Ayu. We had a deluxe room during our stay. Comparing it with other hotels, this was really big and spacious. We also had a big bathroom and a nice balcony where we can just relax. The breakfast choices were quite limited though but the food was really good and tasty. The staff were also quite helpful and gave us a free order of pancakes. The night shift staff though had a hard time helping us fix our wifi connection which we figured out later on. They have a great pool in this hotel too which i wish we could have tried more if we stayed longer. The location of the hotel is good too because it is just 800meters from the main road where the market and shops are. We just walked going to the main road to buy our souvenirs. I will definitely stay here again when i come back to Ubud.
Nice place to spend a week :)”
Putri Ayu Cottage is great place to spend your days. I attended workshop for a week around Ubud and decided to stay at this cottage. The staffs are super nice, they will help you if you need anything. Also the location is great, near the monkey forest and another place like restaurants and bar, it took me 15-20 mins walk to monkey forest. The pool in the hotel is nice thing also. Everythings good in here, but I hope the hotel management will put more attention to the room facilities and maintainences. That's all :)
Had a wonderful stay at Putri Ayu cottages. The pool was wonderful and the location was walking distance from the main road. The staff was also very helpful, especially Herry who showed my friends and I amazing hospitality and assistance!
Relaxing, confortable, safe”
The second time I stayed at Putri Ayu this year and will stay at the same hotel again when next in Ubud. I love it there.
Spacious room and toilet but very dim lighting. ”
Room is spacious and clean. But hardly any views of the rice fields any more. The photos on their website definitely needs to be updated. Three sides of the hotel are flanked by new developments. Work is still on-going on a new hotel on one side of Putri Ayu. While this work is ongoing, it is not a good place to relax in. But if you are just looking for a place to sleep in, this hotel is fine. It is quite a walk to town. Can use a short cut through the luxurious Putiwi hotel to go onto Monkey Forest Road. Lots of mosquitoes so be sure to use the mosquito net at night. Having said all this, I believe the hotel is still value for money. Mee goreng breakfast was very good.
great location in rice field, fresh”
putri ayu cottage based on ubud, that i=is a good place , unique hotel, room very traditional, and facing the swimming pool. we are very happy stay there.
Friendly staff, hotel could use some work”
The first thing we noticed about Putri Ayu was how far away it was from everything, which is kind of a double edged sword. It made coming and going slightly inconvenient, but it was much quieter than many of the other places. Positives: The staff were extremely friendly and remembered our names from day one, which we appreciated. They also offered a shuttle car into Ubud centre at any time of the day and helped organise our ascent of Mt. Batur (recommended!). Our room was huge, and had full wall sized windows from which we could look out on the palm trees and open sky. The pool was deep and surrounded by a variety of tropical fauna and traditional statues, which gave it an exotic feel. The pool was usually empty, and when I went for my morning swim I was the only one there each day. Negatives: The breakfast was pretty poor. A flavourless attempt at Nasi Goreng, various forms of egg, banana pancakes, toast. For some reason the breakfast alternated between being a buffet and having to order it, despite the fact that the choice didn't change. The coffee was effectively brown water, which I found disappointing given that Indonesia is a country that prides itself on producing world class coffee. The bathroom felt like something from the 1980's and could do with a serious revamp, and when we first got there the roof leaked (although as soon as we mentioned this they offered us a new room until they could fix it). Overall, given the price we payed (around £25 per night) I think that Putri Ayu was good value, and I would recommend it, despite it's shoddy breakfast!
Room with a view”
We had a hard time finding the hotel because we couldn't believe that the hotel would have been down the broken down, dirt road we had to drive on to get there. The driver we had hired almost couldn't get his car down the road and it bottomed out several times. Once we got there the hotel was nice and I was somewhat relieved. We checked in and when we got to the room we were happy with the accommodations. The room was spartan... but the view of the rice patty fields through the panoramic windows was spectacular and the bed was amazingly comfortable! While there were not many options for the complimentary breakfast the food was good. One thing in particular was a big problem during our stay. Putri Ayu Cottages has a SERIOUS ant problem! If I finished a cup of tea within the hour it was impossible to see the cup beneath the ants that had found my empty cup. They come from holes in the walls... as creepy as that sounds. Over all, if I could give some advice to the owner of the hotel I would say invest in pest control and pave the road. I can't help but feel that there would be a great return on your investment. If the road were not so bad the location would be fantastic!
Nice hotel, friendly staff”
We stayed 8 nights in Putri Ayu and really enjoyed it. It is in a very quite location with a lovely view to the rice fields. The staff was really amazing, always helpful and ready to accomodate all our needs. You'll need a taxi at nights, because of the the dogs in the street. (There is a free shuttle at 7 every night).
Quiet, relaxing, safe”
A top budget hotel that I am very happy to recommend to solo travelers, couples and families. The grounds and pool were well maintained, and the staff could not have been more helpful. The breakfasts were great. I spent 5 days at the Putri Ayu, and look forward to my next visit. Adele Australia
very helpful staff”
Putri Ayu is quite far from the main part of Ubud but they provide a free shuttle to take you wherever you want to go. The helpful staff also arrange motorbike rental and book any daytrips you may wish to take, also laundry service. The room had a delightful view from the balcony where we could watch the sunset. The breakfast was adequate, the Indonesian option was vegetarian fried rice or noodles. They were undertaking some renovation but this didn't affect our stay. Would happily stay there again!
Quiet hotel near to central Ubud”
I enjoyed my stay at the Putri Ayu Cottages. The staff were friendly, and the hotel is peaceful, located amongst rice fields on a quiet street.
